Hi Guys,
I'm trying to cook my own rom, i'm in the learning phase and doing self test now...
After readings lot of guides and posts around here on XDA, i can't find specific guide to implement Advanced Power Menu on our phone. I found many guides for other devices but it seems to have differences between the based Rom used.
I found thread for S2 9100 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183803 with lot of flashable zip already done. Anyone have those kind of files for the T989D or simply guide me through the steps for building it in my Rom...

Hi,
I'm new to smartphones and i spent a lot of time reading this cool site about tweaking our phones to higher level. What I'm missing on this site is some newbie manual on wiki with list of tools and procedures how to on each type of phone: backup ROM, restore the ROM from bootloader and all the other stuff for modifying ROMs etc.
Is anybody here, who has such knowledge, experience to create these manuals? I found several of them in threads. But why not to keep them organized in wiki?
thanks for your help,
Jenda
What is the tool set needed for creation of custom ROMs?
Is there a good FAQ anywhere on the subject?
There are a lot of pieces of information here and there but it seems to be hard to find one place that would simply enumerate the tools and basic steps involved.

Go to the xda wiki, and read in the Kaiser coking section.
The procedures are almost the same, except for the kitchen.
You should use Juggler's or better yet, Surface's kitchen.
Maybe bepe will release his kitchen sometime soon too.
Happy cooking.
Hello Everybody,
Made this thread so that there be a common point where you can find all the Roms either cooked or upgraded ones. I would like all of you to get involved and use this thread and paste the links of all the Roms along with their snapshots so that who so ever flash a new rom knows how it looks.
Hope this thread be a useful one for all of us.

I know there's a bunch of threads out there on the different cooked ROMs that are available out there. Being a noobie to this, I was looking for any insight how to go about flashing my very first cooked ROM. I have a Tilt2 that I purchased a little over a month ago with a couple tweeks I mustered up enough confidence to do: crud scraper and some registry edits via rescoe editor. Flashing a ROM seems like there's a whole lot more involved and with my limited knowledge may wind up rendering my phone inoperable for life with one or three missed steps.
Any insights as to the necessary steps .... in a step by step manner preferably .... would be very much appreciated!
Might want to check out the ROM Development subforum. All you need to know is in there.
The company I work for uses a horrible old product called Cognito.
We are developing an Android App to replace this but in the meanwhile we have a problem - within our budget we can only run this on Rhodium devices and with specific ROMS.
We have trouble getting decent Rhodiums and finding ones with the correct ROM is even harder. I now have a box of them with the wrong ROMs.
I have searched around for the specific ROMs we need but it seems that mos of the download links I can find have gone.
Even when I can find a ROM that seems to be OK, there always seem to be other issues.
I think the following ROMs should work (in theory):
- 1.86.401.4 (67102) WWE
- 1.14.161.6 (50207) WWE
I figure the next step would be to dump a working ROM and write that back to the other devices.
Can anyone tell me in simple steps how I can achieve this? I have started looking into ROM kitchens but it has far more detail than I think I need and I feel a bit swamped with it all.
Thanks
Update
I have managed to get the RAW files from a working device using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501871
However, I cannot find any tools to put these back together. All the links seem to be dead
I know this is an old thread, but did you ever figure out how to dump the a rom from a working phone and restore it again?
I have a TP2 Rhodium 100 set up with WM6.5 just like it should be(with all the tweaks and apps), and I'm going to give it to family - But I don't really like to have to set it up again all over, so a way to make a rom dump and restore it would be really nice
Its now 2015 - there must be something (I have searched and all threads and post seem to be either dead or the links don't work or the programs are not available anymore).
