Battery drains completely in less than 4 hours - HTC Wildfire S

Hi all I have recently had to place my screen. Since then after I charge the battery it drains very fast. It's never used in that space of time. Would anyone know what the problem might be
Thanks

Where have you done that? In a service?

I dropped it then screen cracked. So took it to a mobile phone repair store. It's overheating and battery drains completely in 4 hours. Have tried a new battery as well but same story

U should have done it at a HTC authorized service center.

Take it back, you might have a repair warranty.
I'd say a cra*py solder or something like that.
Bazinga

It must have been cheap...

Check over in the 1.29 thread. There are reports that battery life has improved.
had the very same problems with my previous white HOX. It didnt last me half a day of moderate use, the battery life was horrible. Just listening to radio with the screen turned off and juice defender on, it drained 30% battery in 15 minutes. I returned it yesterday and got myself a new grey HOX. Hopefully this one will work properly. If you experience quite extreme battery problems you really should return it and get a new one like I did because most likely its a faulty device. It is supposed to last longer than that unless you play tegra 3 games all the time.
Did u return in to htc servuce centre??? Ie did u take a doa frm htc service centre??

For that i ll have to root my phone...?? Is
it really worth it or should i give it to service center for DOA...??
Do they give DOA for bad battery life or not.

Can you just post your battery stats? On my first 3 days, I had the same problem, I even felt that my phone can't even sustain my 4hours of journey on the day. But now it's standby consumption is awesome, may be several charging cycles helped the battery to settle.
We India's has to struggle with waiting to get the latest updates. So, better you unlock the device. But before that, it was too crazy in battery drain, check with HTC service center and confirm the issue. If it was really a h/w issue return the device.

1.2.9 doesn't improve battery life. Today got 9 hours before battery died, auto brightness screen on time was 3 hours 35 mins, push Gmail, push exchange, some calls, played some games. On wifi all day.
Average battery life nothing spectacular.

[Q] Htc wildfire s touchscreen problems

Hi,
Please help me im having touchscreen issues. when ever i dont use it for long, it does not respond,in the right side but after a use of 15 to 20 mins it run normally.it accidentally fell into water.but this problem was from before.my fone is rooted.
Some HTC Wildfire s came with bad touch screen response. I had a couple with a issue like the one you are having. With it falling in water doesn't help out either I guess to fix that issue is to just get a new phone honestly
Use warranty if possble

Is there any obvious signs that it has been in water?

Long charging phone

Hello
My phone charges from about 9% to about 5 hours. Is this normal or do I have to give it back to the warranty?
If I understand correctly, it charges only 9% in 5 hours. That is definitely not normal and you should send it in for a repair. Are you rooted? If not, let them repair it for you.

The loading was 5 hours from 9 to 100%. Soft is the original (again locked bootloader)
Sounds about right. Hox is known to be a slow charging phone.

[Q] Battery charge problem

been searching these forums in hd section but cant seem to find what im after, Basically when my phone is charging i notice that it starts to charge normal.. but as it gets to around 60,70,75% it will automatically jump to 100 and tell me its full..
ive tried calibrating the batter, discharging it fully. charging it back up but it still results in the same problem. anybody heard of this before?
thanks

more than likely you need a new battery, this was happening to me last week and stopped when I replaced the battery
I'll second that statement, your ur for a new battery. If your going to by from eBay I'd suggest being careful, some batteries from there are not very good.

It's a hard one to answer, usualy you get what you pay for as in more expensive the better but not always the case, rip off, counterfeit. Genuine is always best.

Lol I see your point. Might be best to look at the reviews on the seller I guess

How much does HTC charge to change the battery?

Hi,
Has HTC said anything about how much it costs for them to replace the m8's battery?
I have no intention of doing this myself, but I'd like to know that my phone can last longer that 2 years.
What about for the m7? I can't find anything about a battery replacement service online nor the cost.
If it's $99 I can accept it, but anything more would not make much financial sense.
Apple charges $79, for what it's worth.
You could use your phone to call HTC and ask.

I trust XDA and people who have gone through the actual process more than HTC (or any other reps) b/c they usually can't answer my question, no matter how simple.

Not to poke holes in your logic but this phone hasn't been out long enough for anyone to have gone through the process of paying to replace their battery...

My old HTC One S still holds a charge. It's an original launch day device from tmobile, with the original battery.
My dad was using it and would get almost a week on a battery.
He's using my m7 now.
So I wouldn't really worry about it that much.

+1 What he says
There are no listing at the moment as the product is so new. Plus the phone is sealed so the normal outlets other than HTC are unlikely to stock as it is classed as a service item - in other words, for the majority it would involve a return to store. (As you say - 'I have no intention of doing this myself',')
Remember if someone has had problems this early on with the battery, they would have gone for a replacement phone (I know I would have!)
- No doubt at some point somebody will release one. but for now, your best port of call is HTC direct
Like he said^^^^^^^^^^^^
