I just bought the new Surface and it doesn't let me open Odin.

Your surface runs Windows RT, based on an ARM chipset. ARM chipsets don't have the ability to run traditional desktop applications. At least not the way Microsoft locked it down

Pfft windows 8 is almost just a patch for window 7 when you get right down to it! At least that's what I've noticed

More like a pile of crap thrown on top of windows 7, but yes at its core it is just that.
I can't get Odin to work on Windows 8 here :/

I'm not sure if y'all have seen this or not, but CloudOn has released Microsoft Office on Android similar to what they've done for the iPad. You can find their app in the market. It has some mixed reviews, but might be worth playing with.
Today has been exciting, first Flipboard and now this... yay!

Yeah, looks like it'll work on my Iconia but not on any of my phones.
The description on the Play Store clearly says, "Android Tablet".

Works with hybrid roms?
Anyone know if it will work Hydra or other hybrid roms?
I'm on el29 I used ROM toolbox to set dpi to 128 then downloaded from market, then set back to 240, and office works great!

Onlive desktop does same thing. Also only available on tablets.

Is it possible to port a Windows Phone 7 or 7.5 ROM to our phone?

doubt it, it would be easier to sell your gs2 and buy a wp7 device.

No I don't want a pure windows phone...I just want to be able to try it out for a while and then switch back to ICS. But why wouldn't it be possible?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't mean just the launcher. I wanted like the entire ROM with the messaging app and phone app and all the other apps with the market. Guess that's too much to ask for huh? Lol

Not impossible, but extremely improbable. It would need to be completely reverse engineered. It's a closed system that would basically need to be entirely rewritten. WP7/7.5 was not written to support multi core phones or SD cards. Hence why WP8 is such a huge release, as it brings these capabilities on board.

Seems cool and i think he said we will be able to get it for android. I wouldn't mind running it on the SIII.

Heard about this today and definitely caught my eye. Still at least a year from a factory device but I did see that they will be planning on releasing this on the nexus and seeing as the s3 is one of the largest selling devices I can see the international version receiving this and hopefully our device
Will be keeping an eye on the development of this for sure.

Is already going to be released for the galaxy nexus and supposedly it will be available for any equivalent or better android phone at side point. Even if it isn't official I can see a developer porting this.

I'm sure we'll eventually be seeing it on the SIII
I would love to see this. Being able to dual boot Ubuntu and Android would be killer.

Yep, agree!! This would be awesome!
The interface seems really confusing and not very intuitive to me. Too many hidden docks.

Definitely giving this a try as soon as it's available on the gs3. I think once you get used to it you would never want to switch back. Looks like it makes great use of the screen.

But I'm probably not gonna release

Looks amazing, but seems sort of redundant. Why not just team with Google and implement this as a redesign for Android? Or implement it in a similar fashion to CM10.

Here is a more in depth look which shows you some flaws which were pointed out on another forum
"Seriously, no one wants to do that kind of multi-directional swipe. That ignores the fact that the guy demonstrating can't read the text under his finger. And if he used his left hand he wouldn't be able to see the icon."

Its not as if it's actually functional on the HD2. The dev behind it has indicated that he's not planning on working it for any other devices, as he'd rather see just the one halfway functional port rather than dozens of nonfunctional ones.

Because it sucks? It's just a tablet UI that looks like Windows 8 without the usefulness.
Can anyone tell me how to root with heimdall? I could never figure it out with any of my phones, always borrow a pic but I don't have one accessible to root my note p600
Nobody

As far as I know Heimdall for Linux isn't compatible with this tablet so I'd be surprised if it works on Mac either.

Sucks. Every one I know has a mac. Only reason I got one was for graphic design. Gotta buy a pc because I love tinkering with android so much.

Not having a PC is the only thing standing between me and the true AWESOMENESS of this tablet... just a few more weeks!
