no its not a bug you must set APN settings for your operator you can find then in internet
to set them goto to settings>wireless&networks>mobile networks>access point names>tap menu button and then new APN it worked for me
Cyanogenmod CM-10 no mobile data
I have an HTC EVO 4G LTE, I am currently using the 20121012–NIGHTLY because that is the only version that has working mobile data. Is there a reason why I can't get the newer versions to work correctly.

After successfully installing the latest ARHD for my GNex, I noticed I had no mobile connection at all (I'm with Telus). The FAQ for ARHD said to check APN settings, which is fine I remember having to input them manually on a friend's Desire HD (Telus) after installing the rom. For some reason, APN setting aren't even visible in my mobile network menu. What am I missing guys? Any insight would be awesome!

Okay, I've got My 3G/EDGE(Mobile Data) services back with this way.
Note: Please back to stock rom, when on stock rom you can do this.
So here we go
1. OPEN your Dial Pad
2. Write *#197328640#
3. You will be in "Service Mode"
4. There's three menus
5. Choose Common
6. Choose Line 9. update ppvalues.dat
7. Let it self works for few seconds
8. Your 3G/EDGE should be back

Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda app-developers app
I want to switch from Verizon to Att. but the phone needs to be unlocked ..
The Verizon note 4 is factory unlocked
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app

Just need to add apn settings. I have mine on att

have done this now 12 times... followed these steps:
1. Factory Reset phone
2. disable vzw apk through method described using debloater-
3. Install vz known working sim- make test call and can get on the internet
4. take out vz sim and install t mobile sim-
5. add apn settings for tmobile
6. save apn settings
7. Says same thing "searching for service"
8. toggle mobile network type from global to each setting repeatedly.
9. take out T MOBILE sim
10. Put in vz sim works flawless... test calls and internet work
11. try tmobile again- not working APN settings
NOTHING IS WORKING AT ALL???
Hey, I have a HTC Desire 816 (US) for Virgin Mobile. I like the Google Messenger and Hangouts app however I can't seem to send or receive MMS for either app. The stock Messages app works just fine. I've done some research and it appears I need to look into my APN settings. However, I have no idea how to get to those on the phone. The directions that are given lead to know where. Can anybody tell me how to fix this. Thank you.
You probably need to download an app from the play store, I think the one I used for CyanogenMod was called Change APN. Just opens the APN menu for you. Also, the one site I found with Virgin Mobile US APN details had it wrong. But if you're on CM 12, their pre-set APN for VM is correct, you just need to select it in the menu. For the Sense-based ROMs, they don't seem to have it by default.

Thanks for trying to help. I am currently on stock rom and it appears that Virgin Mobile has the APN on lock down. I have not found a way changing it and getting it to work. Everytime I try to add a new apn with CHANGE APN app it says saved but doesn't add it. The one that's in there has a locked symbol on it. It could be because I am on stock rom. However I am rooted and S-Off, I still can't change it. I haven't tried CyanogenMod because I want a fully functional phone. Anybody else have any ideas. All I want to do is use hangout or google messenger with MMS and it work. I think it stupid that its included on the phone and it's not even fully functional. I can get chompsms to work but it has it's own apn settings.

That's interesting cause I personally use hangouts and am also on stock and rooted with s off and it works fine for me. What kind of error is it giving you? Is it immediately failing or failing after trying to send for awhile?
