Cyanogenmod CM-10 no mobile data
I have an HTC EVO 4G LTE, I am currently using the 20121012–NIGHTLY because that is the only version that has working mobile data. Is there a reason why I can't get the newer versions to work correctly.
OK, so this may not even be the result of running a custom rom because it hasn't worked with any of them. When I click on Voicemail which isn't setup yet by the way, all it does is send me to my messaging app. It gives me no options to set it up, or check voicemail.

I removed the Visual Voicemail application. It can be added back.
The icon for Visual Voice mail is tied to the Messaging app.
I need to edit the messaging app to rid that icon. for now just use the feature to "hide" it in the app drawer.
of it you want the app, pull it outta the bloat.zip
Okay, thanks

OK, so I downloaded the bloat zip and extracted the vvm.apk it gives me the install option but says install failed every time. Any ideas?

are you using my empty flashable.zip..?
just pull vvm.apk and put in system/app
Once I get my phone back, and or you have S-OFF this won't be an issue.
Aroma will solve a lot of these types of issues as well.
Okay, I put it in place of the null file in the app folder in your flashable zip and after re zipping it it failed when flashing

Don't unzip then rezip. Use a tool like 7zip and drop it into the zip. It failed because by unzipping, you broke the signature

exactly what Ty said.
I am expecting my phone back today, and my first project is Aroma..
so bare with me.. (not you Ty)
I will be getting the ROM to where I am comfortable with calling it a full non beta release.
Only reason it's beta is because I don't have Aroma set up yet, once that is set up, it's game on.
you will be able to re-flash the ROM.zip pick "MOD only" and then select JUST the .apk you want (NO you can't remove apps, use root explorer for that, I think S-OFF takes away write protection but I have no idea yet, if not, then, well, we will need to get used to that .zip that deletes files (it's quite easy, once you try it out and everything)

I forgot to come back and post a thank you, it worked great after I placed the apk into the zip and flashed. By the way, I've run every rom available now for the phone and keep coming back to yours, I appreciate your work.

Have you had any luck ridding the VVM icon and whatever else from the messaging app yet. I had a nasty issue related to the new VVM.
I will spell it out here in case anyone else has this issue.
So i like always update my phone when updates come out.
The new VVM has some addition network elements tied to it on the back-end.
Long story short this 443 update has created randomly dropping my mobile connection. I tried re flashing the radios, the stock rom, going back one radio version, etc. I mentioned this in a post in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one/help/wifi-bluetooth-mobile-data-wont-off-t2883253
I don't believe it is anything we have done in here, but the issue was with exclusively mobile data where it would disconnect but still show 4g, anyways back to the VVM
I had to revert to 442 stock rom as it didn't have the disconnecting issue
Since i already ran the newest 443 VVM app with those additional features, the 442 VVM fails with error code 2004 when on a 442 ROM
So i had to be coy when calling VZW to get them to reset this. Lucky they didn't ask SW/HW versions, so basically they had ' reset the network elements ' associated with the newest version. WORKED!
So if this happens to you , all i said was it came down as an update, i didn't like it, and reverted back and now it does not work, etc.... I tried to find the newest update again but cant find it.
I was wondering how the VVM icon still there after removing the APK, that answers that. I tried to load the newest VVM on 442, and epic fail lolz
Just providing some info for everyone

Foolish me, this is so very simple, I just forgot that you have to do it on a 100% clean flash, you can't use a flashable.zip as it is an .xml system edit.
system/customize/resource/allapplication.xml
basically you edit this .xml just search for "voicemail"
you will find this line of code
Code:
<item type="application" packageName="com.htc.sense.mms" className="com.htc.sense.mms.ui.VoiceMailTabActivity" display_order="200" display_hide="[B][COLOR="Red"]0[/COLOR][/B]" />
change it to
Code:
<item type="application" packageName="com.htc.sense.mms" className="com.htc.sense.mms.ui.VoiceMailTabActivity" display_order="200" display_hide="[B][COLOR="Red"]1[/COLOR][/B]" />
to be quite honest though to save yourself A LOT of time, just hit the menu button in app drawer click hide apps and hide it, that is what this MOD does anyway...

Okay Thank You
same problem here. i did it but not solved
I have a duos from portugal and selected another language (german) but anytime I made a reboot it changed the language to portuguese.
But while searching for another thing I found a way that my language is anytime german!
I was searching for a an app that can rate the qualitty of the battery I use (I want to compare it whit the "gold battery" that I've bought). In this research I have found a tool named "Battery Calibration" .The App has the following description: "
Calibration needs to be done after flashing a new ROM, but you can calibrate any time you think your battery is miscalibrated. This program does it by removing the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon, thus any fake information from the previous ROM is removed."
After I used this tool my language didn't changed anymore. I tried reboot many times and anytime the language was in german. I was happy about this but didn't understand it complete. I think the app removed some file that puts the Android OS in a refreshed situation or something like that.
I hope that anyone of you can get the same effect :good:
Ramses
Solution
This solution is posted in GENNXT ROM thread also
1. Download, Install and open "Root Browser"
2. Go to "system" folder and then open "csc" folder.
3. Open file named "customer.xml" open it with RB text editor when the prompt comes
4. Scroll down and find this string "<DefLanguage>vietnamese</DefLanguage><DefLanguageNoSIM>vietnamese</DefLanguageNoSIM>"
5. Replace vietnamese with english.
6. It should look like "<DefLanguage>english</DefLanguage><DefLanguageNoSIM>english</DefLanguageNoSIM>"
7. Click save option available on top. close the editor.
8. You are done.

It was a known issue with SuperSU1.69 not in GENNXT. The issue has been solved in the latest SuperSU, so simply updating the app and it's binaries (updated when you open the app after Update) should solve the language issue
This Paranoid Android 4.5 BETA1 for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 seems to be stable build except it has few bugs related to WiFi.
After upgrading from Paranoid Android 4.45 to 4.5, WiFi stops working and it deleted saved WiFi Access Points. Any changes you make in WiFi Settings seems to be giving error " FAILED TO SAVE NETWORK CHANGES".
This WiFi bug is still exists even if you revert it back to 4.45.
Waiting for another fix update.
Since I have not posted much...here in xda ... I can not reply to their original development thread.

Are you using an app such as Chromecast or AllCast? It's known to cause WiFi issues on all KitKat Roms for the Hercules.

No, I'm not using any one of them... The WiFi issues start appearing after I've upgraded to Paranoid Android 4.5 from 4.45. But even if i downgrade to 4.45 the wifi issues remains there.
I think I only have one option to clean format and install it again. But I do not want to loose all of my custom settings.

Did you make a backup before you flashed the update? I did have this problem 3 months ago with an update and a clean flash fixed it and it was stable. I have found that rather than dirty flashing updates I do a full backup in TWRP, full wipe, flash ROM, gapps, addons, and kernel, wipe cache and Dalvik, reboot, let sit 10 mins to settle, reboot recovery, wipe cache and Dalvik, restore just data, wipe cache and Dalvik again and reboot. I've even dine this switching to other Roms but it won't work with all.

Guess what... I think i have solved my issues with just un-checking one of the option in settings. LOL
I realized that I made some changes right after installing the update which I totally forgot about it. So I went back to those settings:fingers-crossed: and checked which one was causing this problem. And WAHLLAA It was definitely one with Cast Screen settings causing the WiFi problems.
HERE ARE MY SOLVED STEPS:
Goto >> Settings
Then >> Display
then >> Cast Screen
then go to the Option of Cast Screen on top right.
SIMPLY uncheck the option [Enable wireless display].
Then REBOOT is required.
You should have working wifi without any changes to the wifi settings.
DON'T FORGET THE """"THANKS BUTTON"""":highfive:

@mkdroid - I edited this thread's title as well due to your direct copy of the Development thread's title - this is not a good practice as it can be very confusing both to those actually looking at the forum and those searching through both XDA & Google/etc.
Please refrain from copying development thread titles for your threads and leave the [ROM] and other tags for the appropriate places. You should use the [Q] tag if you want to use one at all in the Q&A section.
Thanks.

I have tried everything and nothing will work. Phone still says "searching for service"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-note-4-n910v-t-mobile-service-t3092055/page5
have done this now 12 times... followed these steps:
1. Factory Reset phone
2. disable vzw apk through method described using debloater-
3. Install vz known working sim- make test call and can get on the internet
4. take out vz sim and install t mobile sim-
5. add apn settings for tmobile
6. save apn settings
7. Says same thing "searching for service"
8. toggle mobile network type from global to each setting repeatedly.
9. take out T MOBILE sim
10. Put in vz sim works flawless... test calls and internet work
11. try tmobile again- not working APN settings
NOTHING IS WORKING AT ALL???
