[Q] Independent Notification Sound Control - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Is there any way to adjust notification tones and/or volumes independently? I am sick of getting woken up in the middle of the night from emails and facebook updates but I don't want to disable sms notifications.
Thanks

Allows you to adjust ringer, notifications, media volume separately.

He doesn't want all notifications disabled.
You can control each notification and sound level from within the app itself.

Yeah. I guess I could disable it in the app. Unfortunately its a pain in the ass to do because its like 5 screens deep to get to those setting in my work email app. What I was really hoping for was a way to automate it with tasker to mute only my email and facebook notifications but no sms.

Well if you had Tasker run your notification sounds (example: sms profile that plays the sms notification sound when you receive an sms). You could then make some profiles, like an @ night profile, that would turn off all the sound profiles except sms @ night.
You'd still have to select the silent notification for all the notification in settings > sounds or go into each application's settings and select silent notification for each of the apps you care to control. But, you'd only have to do that once as soon as tasker is in control of your notification sounds.

How do we make notifcation volume same as the ringer volume?

I miss that from the EVO 4G, as some other things.
We cant and i really do hate that

I use an apply called audiomanager pro. I've used it for what feels like ever. You can set profiles for sounds or adjust them each time.
It allows you to tie the two volumes together tho, something I think is a necessity and that's in aosp android or at least was on my nexus.
That's a great tip man. Thanks!!

If you go to settings/sound/general/volume you should be able to set it there. I'm on a rooted device but i think this is available on a stock rom. In order for this option to be a available your phone can't be on silent/vibrate. Let me know if it works.

that's where it was on my Evo, but it's not there. I'm running the stock rom, but I do have root.
What rom are you running?
This is one of the biggest issues I have with this phone. Why would I possibly want my notification ringtone to be louder than my phone call ringtone? This stock rom needs to be updated to offer an option to adjust all volume types simultaneously.

search market for volume control
"Quick settings" in the market has an option for this too.
I'm running Starburst rom v1. 5. I checked on my wife's phone that is not rooted and she has the same options under settings/sound/volume. Make sure silent mode is not enabled.

I'm not in silent mode, and I tried adjusting vibrate to each of the 4 options, and none of them caused the normal Android option to link incoming call and notification volume to appear.

[Q] missing notification vibrations

Hi there,
I have a problem with my notification vibrations. When I receive a call the phone vibrates as expected, but when I receive a text message or an e-mail there is no vibration, though configured...
I have the out-of-the Box Android 4.0.1 (the OTA update did not arrive yet :-/ ). The acoustic notifications are set to silent mode. In text messages settings as well as e-Mail settings the vibrate setting is always.
Has anybody a hint what I could try to get vibrations working for Text messages and e-mails?
regards

Don't know if it would matter but after setting it to always have you rebooted your phone

Try downloading an app that lets you assign custom vibrate pattens to notifications and see if it works then

I'm having the same problem with my CDMA on a deodexed but otherwise stock 4.0.2.
It seems to be an issue (for me at least) with the Google Apps. GTalk, GMail and Google Voice Texts aren't setting the vibration when anything new arrives.
Sorry, I have nothing positive to add other than: "Me Too!"
Viel Glück
If you have lightflow installed, it can override the notification settings, make sure(if you have it) that vibration is enabled for sms
if you don't, well I see no reason not to have it its just great!
I haven't installed lightflow. I tryed installing custom vibes und set a custom vibration for an sms contact. unfortunately it still does not work :-/
Does anybody know how to contact samsung/google support? On the Samsung side I cannot choose the GI-I9250 as model and on the google side all contact links are linking to all but a mail adress or contact form
problem kind of fixed
Hello everybody,
just for the files. My final solution was a hard reset of the device. right now the vibrations are working...
Actually I was not able to figure out whick App was causing the problems...

Anyone able to unlink Ringer & Notification volume?

Has anyone been able to unlink the Ringer & Notification volume? I'm rooted & running xposed on my Verizon G4, but Gravity Box and Unlink xposed modules don't work for this setting.
Bumping - No resolution for this yet?
+1 for this. I HATE linked ringer and notifications.
ignore app gives independent sliders but when you exit and enter they are still linked
+1 also. is it just me or whenever you lower ringtone/notifcations, the notifcations volume is still loud?
Does the option to unlink the volumes in gravity box not work?
Not sure if anyone knows or not, but installing a volume control app has let me control Ringer and notifications separately. Not sure if it's because of an Xposed module or if it works with only installing the app, but I'm now able to separate the 2. The volume buttons, on the back, still only allow linked control though.
Another choice is waiting for update from LG in your area. Mine is already separated.

Waiting for something that may never come, especially with Verizon, isn't such a great option when there's something that works now.

That's great. Completely useless, but great...
I always come back to this app:
SmartSoundProfiles
It has never let me down so far in regards to separate ringer/notification volumes. Great app!
The dev has a free trial version that will run for 10 days if you wanna give it a test run first.
They seem to have been separated with the 10e update

Yeah, the newer update has separated it.
Personally I'm on the other end of the spectrum and I like to have both merged. So this one pissed me off now

Nokia 8.1 notifications bug

I am having an issue with Nokia 8.1. Whenever an app post its notification on my locked phone and I do not care to see what the notification is. The phone keeps on pinging after equal interval of times (5-6mins) to see the notification.
I am not able to turn it off from the settings as-well. Is this a bug or a feature in Android P or something else ?
How can I fix it ?
Apple does this in their phones but it only pings twice for an unseen notification. My Nokia does it until I unlock my phone.
go to settings, display, advanced, ambient display, notification, there's an option there u could either turn notifications off completely, or set it so it would only show up once.
lemme know if this fixed ur problem
I have the same issue. It's annoying.
Here is a screenshot of what's in settings/display/advanced/Ambient.

It's all good. I deselected the slider marked "New Notifications - wake screen when you receive notifications" and no more annoying reminders.

On exactly 2 minutes
If you are talking about Settings -> display -> Advanced -> Ambient display -> New notifications then the Nokia 8.1 allows you to set the notification alert interval only once and that too when you set your phone for the first time. Once you set it, there is no way you can change it. I had contacted Nokia customer care about this in January but till March update this issue is not resolved.

would love to see these reminders. how enable those? can't find to enable them. no reminders when screen goes into sleep but unsure if sleep has anything to do with that.

Question MIUI 12.5.1 App default notification sounds / alerts missing

I have been using my POCO F3 for 1 month and I haven't been able to figure out how to set the default notification sounds to basic apps like Facebook, WhatsApp or Outlook. I want their notifications to sound with the default sounds, not a personal or system default one. It's annoying to listen all apps with the same sound notification.

To solve it i just delete app data but this is terrible solution
Hi,
I hope I understand the problem. If you go into the individual app settings there you will also find the option to set the alert sound.

Yes, every app has the individual settings but they take the general sound alert configured to the phone in settings. That's the problem, actually.
I found a solution to this issue but I cannot execute it without rooting my phone: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...one-locale-and-online-playing-possible.61462/

I was able to do it, go to the Xiaomi themes app, then profile, then settings and un select "use theme ringtones" only downside is that you will have to clear data of affected apps in orde to work .

Sorry I didn't understand, do you mean that for every app I want to set a sound I have to delete all the data for that app?
That is correct. I ended up resetting the phone, then first thing to do unable "use theme ringtones" and finally start downloading all my apps.
1. Set notif to none. 2.set each app with sound you like.
