*** AT&T JB Leaks are out there *** NEED HELP - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok .. we all know that XDA members and especially the Dev's are anxious to get there hands on an OFFICIAL AT&T release of JellyBean 4.1.x for our SGSIII's .. well, I can tell you this .. so far, AT&T (that I'm aware of) have already gone through 3 releases .. and NOT one of them have found there way up here on XDA.
The 4 builds so far are:
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLI7:user/release-keys
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ2:user/release-keys
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ3:user/release-keys
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ3c:user/release-keys
So .. if ANYONE knows, has access, secrets .. etc etc etc .. please release or leak so that our Dev's can have some real fun
I have searched high and low all over the internet .. I have been unable to find absolutely ZIP on all 3 releases.

And just how did you come across this information?

Ya seriously, we need someone on the inside to release these leaks.
I have been toying with installing a JB custom ROM from here, but all of them have things that just aren't working.
Sometimes I am tempted to just go back to the iPhone and get a 5.
I would love to install an official leak. Would make me feel better.

I am sure we will see something very soon in the form of a leak or info on official release. A Sprint document was just leaked stating the their official JB update pushes tomorrow. Unfortunately its always the case that AT&T takes longer on updates than others.

Ooo, watching this thread eagerly. Phandroid released an article today that Sprint is going to start JB updates for their GS3s starting tomorrow:
http://phandroid.com/2012/10/24/sprints-samsung-galaxy-s3-jelly-bean-rollout-starts-october-25th/
Would love to get my hands on one of these leaks until the official makes its way out.

Here's the article that specifically references the Sprint exclusion that I referenced on the other thread. As evidenced by today's development, the Examiner was correct.

Well nuts. I wonder why only Sprint is getting the love? Supposedly there are AT&T JB betas out there in the wild being tested, but none of them have leaked.

Can't come soon enough, if only because it'll eventually help our AOSP jelly roms wrt the proprietary bits.
There's no going back to a stock touchwiz rom, even if it is jellybean. )
(EDIT: Somebody gave this thread a 1-star rating, so I gave it a 5 to raise the current avg to 3)

And they are waiting for leakage.

By the looks of it .. there is now another release out there somewhere for AT&T :
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ3c:user/release-keys

It doesn't matter if there are a million leaks, without the ability to dl, it doesn't do a lot of good.

Except that CM/AOKP are built almost entirely from source. Considering there isn't really a whole lot that's different between the Sprint, Bell, or whatever other carriers leaked/released their official JB builds for the GS3, i can't imagine having an AT&T specific ROM providing more aide than any of the others have already done.

Regarding what leaks are already out there .. Sprint, Bell, Rogers, T-Mobile etc etc etc // There are still bugs with each one of them on our AT&T SGS3's .. and again, these are of cause leaks .. except the Sprint release which is now Official, and there are even still bugs with that when ported over to ours.
At least, if we can get our hands on a original AT&T leak .. we can see if these same bugs exist between the builds, or if AT&T has everything working as it should .. who knows !!!
That's why I've been posting that there are test builds out there for AT&T .. just cannot find them, or get our hands on them .. I know there is someone out there that has access to these builds .. problem is, that person is telling me that he does "not have permission to release" !!!
I couldn't even get the fella to verify the build numbers for me.

Ohh I'm fully aware of that .. alot of Devs do .. worse part of all this, I know someone on here that already has access to and has been using it .. I cannot persuade him to release/leak what he has, keeps telling me "I don't have permission" !!! SUCKS
His last response to me on Twitter was "I'm good, many people send drama my way for giving them free stuff. some people in the android community just ruin it for everyone." and I haven't heard from him since.

wow......really? have you been under a rock? you NEVER ask for an ETA, especially from the CM team. thats just rude.
you want ICS, go compile it from source.

We're all desperate for ROM updates, even the devs are when they're baffled by coding languages, but this is totally in the wrong forum and not even I ask for ETAs!
We love you, but it's just like growing up, and how your father might've told you to never ask for money. Here, ROM updates symbolise some free sort of money!

also with these other devices it was always a concern that we wouldnt see the source.
I believe the source dropped within two weeks of the phone being released.
So unless samsung really screws up they are already ahead of the game.

You sir are retarded. Steve (Cyanogen), personally has our device and promised we would get CM9. Additionally the newer Galaxy line will be some of the 1st devices to get updated ICS as confirmed by Samsung on their website & every tech hideout on the frigging web.
Let's leave the smart phones to smart people ok ?
A number of people (myself included) "donated" (it's not really a donation when you're asked to do it in exchange for something) to Cyanogen for the purpose of having their ROM on our phones. It would be common courtesy for them to at least provide a progress update every now and then. But apparently on this forum where arrogance rules asking for a timeline is a deadly sin.
You guys are so self-righteous it's disturbing. Yes, I donated $20 to Cyanogen and I would like to know when the ROM we were promised will come to fruition.
How is this any different than Bubby taking everyones money and never doing anything with the phone?

New CM9 Tease Posted by RC for p930

If you haven't visited RC's page on google+, he just posted another tease on CM9 for us and said "just a couple more buglets to solve." Cross your fingers that we're getting close.
Edit: you can append anything to the url. No placeholder.
super cool considering cm9 is not available for very many devices right now.
Currently, you can compile CM9 for a small number of devices- notably the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi and T-Mobile versions), the HP Touchpad and Motorola Xoom. The next devices to show up will likely be a whole array of Samsung phones (Exynos chipset), with devices based on the Qualcomm MSM8660 and 7×30 chipsets to follow.

@scott, I don't look at CM as my saving grace for supplying an ICS ROM. There are countless others out there that have supplied an ICS ROM for various devices, some of them are actually more stable than the ICS Kang builds.

a user asked him where he would be releasing the CM9 for our phone once it's ready, and he gave this:

So I say let's keep an eye on it

That was me asking as I could never find any of his commits to the git repository. Still not sure if he has submitted anything yet, but I will get checking that link on a regular basis. I think I may also send a message to koush to see if he has what is needed to create CWM for our phones...
And he was replying to me - and I asked specifically about the 930. He +'d my name on the reply which is the only way I know he was talking with me...

According to the guys at the att store...that there is supposed to be a ics push sometime within the next 30 days....at least that is what they said when I bricked my phone and replaced it...they thought that maybe I got a push already...I kind of looked at them like they were crazy...then one said to the other that he read it in their "kms" system. When I worked for sprint KMS stood for Knowledge management system...it was essentially the end all be all of all possible knowledge about a phone or company policy.
I still think this is speculation and I won't say with 100 percent confidence that either of them were telling the truth.
If At&t does push ICS out, would that make it easier to compile CM9 for the VS920 (LG Spectrum)?

Spectrum is very similar (same SOC), but it uses a different radio (to account for CDMA). So unless the AT&T version of CM9 is specifically modded, it won't work for Spectrum.

Upgrading to ICS from custom ROM

I've already taken a backup of the original stock ROM using the Clockwork Recovery mod. I'd appreciate it if someone could post an idiot's guide on upgrading to ICS from a custom ROM.
Thanks!

Most likly mistaking with the true GS2 International model
An engadget article. It's being rolled out for the normal SGS-II in Europe. I can't post the links until I'm 8 posts old , so here's the quoted text from the article.
After that March 10th mishap, Samsung reaffirmed to us that it'd deliver Android 4.0 for its GT-I9100 Galaxy S II when it was darn good and ready -- well folks, the company appears ready. It's just announced both via Facebook and Twitter that the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade that so many have lusted after is now available and will begin its rollout to users in Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Korea today, and will move onto other markets from there -- subject to carrier requirements, of course. Better yet, Samsung has affirmed that its Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow shortly. So, if you're one of the lucky ones to receive the upgrade, let us know how it fares for you in the comments below. Otherwise, feel free to keep clicking that update button.

I'm not familiar with how long the update would take to reach Carriers though. Anyway , I'm looking for a solution on how to upgrade when the update would come.
EDIT : Oops , someone beat me to it. I was referring to the international SGS-II. I'm not sure how long it would take to reach T-mobile.
I'm sick of the same thing being covered 20 times every day.
The international Galaxy S2 has NOTHING to do with our phone. Yes the name is the same but the insides of the phone are all different. They might as well have called our phone something completely different as to not confuse people.
Nothing from the I9100 will be usable for us. Nothing. Hence, I reiterate my previous statement: We are not seeing ICS for some months to come. Sad I know.

The real frustration with this site is that people come here looking for more information and get greeted with condescending dickishness. Those guys posting about how awful it is to have to read threads asking about the update knew fully well what this thread was when they chose to come here.
I don't see how people can be so unaware of common sense that they would be surprised that a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II getting the ICS update might confuse people who own a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II into thinking they are getting an update to ICS.

By looking at the history, you can tell how long it usually takes for Samsung to deliver an update for carrier phones. As far as I can remember, for the T-Mo Galaxy S, it took them about 5 months to update to 2.2 AFTER the International Galaxy S received 2.2. This was about a month after google rolled out 2.3 via Nexus S.
The reason for the delay is because every carrier wants Samsung (and other manufacturers) to ensure that their bloatware works fine on their updated versions. And no matter how good Samsung's Hardware is, their software division is freaking slow!
So good luck waiting for 4.0. My guess is that it will be out by May/June/July/August.
Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec
Ok , thanks. But the real point of this thread was on HOW to UPDATE to ICS when it would finally come. It seems like everyone missed the point here. I don't really care when the update would come, that was never stated in the thread title nor did I ask for a date in my opening post.
I was fully aware that the "When is ICS going to arrive for T-mobile??!!" has been asked a hundred times, which is why I only asked HOW to update.

Well if ICS does come for our device in about 6 months.. you can always ODIN back to stock (check allgamers stickies) and wait for an OTA update, but you might have to wait for someone to exploit root access for 4.0... sooo i would wait until a dev creates a rooted stock ROM of 4.0.

Eh , the saddest part about it is how most failed to READ the thread. It was clearly stated that help was needed on HOW to update. The question "When will the update arrive?" was never stated in the opening post.
To answer the op, there's 2 ways to do it. first is to flash back to unrooted stock and wait for the push from tmo. Instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22881355
Second way is to wait for a deodexed or rooted version from a dev and just flash like a normal ROM.

I think we should storm T-Mobile's headquarters Matrix-style to get the source code, then hand it to the very capable developers here to finish it in a day or two. What say you?
Good idea... but I think the topic "ICS" is too general. How would we be able keep track of what the issue at hand is? Different groups of people could be talking about different things here at the same time.. if we keep it to "ONE" official forum for ICS. And it would just end up for a lot of us to do page searching.
There is only one issue at hand:
The T989 doesn't have ICS/Samsung source code.

LMFAO
Samsung + Tmobile + updates = Buy a new phone. Sorry, but this has always been an issue everyone always talked about with Sammy and T-Mobile. Things never change. They even posted it on FB like we are awesome, your carrier Blows! Have a nice day.

Came here to post this (Samsung just tweeted and FB'd it). Y'all are fast!
Well, this is very depressing. I guess I'll be hopping on the SIII bandwagon soon.
As happy as I am with the T989 on Gingerbread, I want the latest and greatest. T-mobile has failed me once again. All of this Galaxy S II ICS news from other carriers, the ICS update for the S II for Tmo UK users, and now we get a message "in the coming months". That's sort of... heartbreaking to say the least.
Would source from skyrocket ics be enough for us to get decent battery life from a port ?
gawd ........ some how I thought them releasing source as fast as they did would change how they do things. I think its time we start jumping their a*ses again
If we dont show support for the galaxy s3 maybe they will pull their heads out of their butts.
I freakin love the phone but I'm tired of all they stupid excuses. You can still release source or some crap.
And I would love to have someone with a lot more followers tweet this !
A response from Tmobile

Exactly what I thought. They arent going to tell use until they push out the update. Apple does a somewhat similar few days notice.
It is annoying on both ends. Tmobile should realize they arent Apple and a software update isnt the press equivalent of realizing a new phone.
I've already gave up on this phone getting an official update , already accepted that ill have to get another phone so i will choose wisely next time, honestly the only thing that keeps me with T-Mobile is wi-fi calling if they ever stop that then I see no reason to stay with them

Probably would be useless, the small number of users that actually know of or care about an update is nothing compared to the amount of people that just buy a phone because it looks nice or has a big screen. Most customers are oblivious. Most it would do is start a small trending topic and then it would fizzle like KONY 2012. Next thing you know your running around in public naked doing the "5 knuck backhand no drop ins". Updates are worthless to carriers usually unless its more of a Dev phone like the nexus. Which the SGS2 is not. Well atleast T-Mobile version. Money is in the contract! Hook line and sinker.
But what do I know? Nothing but what I have seen with my last three devices on T-Mobile. I don't think the SGS3 is going to be any different, ship the phone. Get the money. Rinse and repeat.
Thankfully there is a sweet dev community that can work wonders Modding and porting ROMs but I can even see now certain communities are fading out because of Vultures and demanding users plying updates updates updates. We should all chill and just enjoy what we have and work with it. Last thing you want is more talented Devs and Themers leaving a device you own because patience is not in our vocabulary. ICS will or will not come...device has only been out for several months. Look at the SGH-T959 community, strong and mad ROMs. Stuff takes time. This is a hobby for people, hobby! Something people like. Whoaaaa...way off topic. I'll shut up now. Sorry for the Opinionated rant.
Carry on.

Looks like Verizon will be getting Jelly Bean 4.1.1 soon. Any AT&T love?

Wait 12 days dude. The devices haven't even been released so that means that source code hasn't even been released yet.

Wait 12 days for what? What devices haven't been released yet? If you're talking about Nexus 4, that's not what I'm talking about, and the Nexus 4, is Jelly Bean 4.2, not 4.1.1, which is what I was talking about. If Sprint can release it, and Verizon can leak it, why can't AT&T at least leak something, even if it goes through another 2 or 3 leaks before official release.

Thought you were talking about 4.2. But either way. You're comparing carriers. Different carriers release faster than others. So to say verizon or sprint can do it doesn't really hold any significance. AT&T does there own thing. So if you're waiting on them I wouldn't hold your breath dude.
I realize that carriers release things differently, and VERIZON, didn't release there's it's a LEAK. So all I am asking is, where is the AT&T LEAK?

In AT&T's development department.

Why do you even need ATT leak when you can use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956463
I have been using it for 3 days and it works flawlessly
Because I want something specifically designed for my phone, not one that's close. Also I've seen several articles on here about people having problems with the Sprint version, especially with the GPS, and having to go back to stock 4.1.1, and reset etc......... I use my GPS a lot, so don't have time and can't afford it not to be guaranteed to work. Hence wanting an AT&T leak.

By definition, a leak is, something an owner doesn't want to be made available and somehow becomes available before it's suppose to.
I wouldn't expect AT&T to volontarily "release" a leak...
They're only doing a better job than the other carriers keeping their stuff to themselves.
Of course, that's unless Sprint and Verizon intentionnaly leaked theirs...

Hahah u sound frustrated. Even when the ATT leak comes don't expect it to be 100%.
As for the Sprint leaks I understand your reluctancy to flash it. Worse case is if it didn't work flash back to what did. That's the great part about Android.
I had issue with a certain JB rom until I found Graxxixnyc port and it works flawlessly. GPS et al.
Other then that just wait for ATT to give us JB, but as task said don't hold your breath as if we get official from them by the end of this year we would be lucky.

Yes, I know it's something that the owner doesn't want out, but yet somehow all carriers seem to have them. Which was the point of this post. Never said they would "voluntarily" release it, otherwise I would have stated that implicitly. All I said was that since the OFFICIAL SPRINT release is out, and a leaked version of Verizon's SG3 software as of 10/8/2012 where is the AT&T version?

lol. keep on trolling dude. thats not what XDA is for. remind yourself of that. things you did wrong here.
1.) You didn't even try and help. I did.
2.) You brought your personal opinion of me into a development site. Leave your emotions at the door. Your personal opinions do not belong here.
3.) Contribute or add something here or it's a waste of a post. Learn that.

I'm not sure how long you've been with AT&T, but they seem to take the longest out of all of the carriers in terms of their release times. Leaks come and go and sometimes never come. Basically it's just a waiting game dude. Patience is key when with AT&T.

Its not about trolling "dude" its about talking to people in a respectful manner. I think its silly that when a some users are a developer they feel like they can come on and talk down to people. I'll just as soon run stock cupcake 1.5 on my phone than have some one treat me like **** for asking a question. But hey you're a grown man do what you want. people sniffing your corn hole for the latest ROM has went to your head apparently.

Lol. Please grow up dude. I mentioned something along the lines that source hasn't been released yet and this is what you get from it? It was a simple error in reading it correctly. Happens every day dude. Get used to it. That's not only weird but its also taking something waaaay out of context. This is you holding a grudge for some reason or another and releasing it in a development site. So either you should keep to yourself or contribute to this community. That's what XDA is all about dude.
Thank you Task650, I realize that AT&T takes FOREVER, been with them seems like FOREVER. I know that leaks come and go, all I'm asking, is if anyone has any information about any AT&T leaks, not leaks from other carriers, that if you stand on your head, and spin, then it will work, and that if it doesn't you can always go back. I know all this, and if that is what I wanted to do I'd do it. But what I'm looking for is an AT&T leak, that way it's has the most chance of having most if not all things working properly. I am patient when waiting for things to happen, but just asking a friendly does anyone know if one is out yet, or heard anything is all.

They take longer than forever from what I've seen. Which really sucks for the user that wants to run stock official roms. There is no leak yet. You will definitely know when there is because it will be posted in the development forum and users that use touchwhiz will be all over it.

you should really be concentrating on #2 & #3. please remind yourself that this site is about development. please go to the more appropriate places like Facebook, Twitter, or start a blog if you feel the need to voice your personal opinions about me. Your observations are just that. yours. but either way they belong elsewhere. please stop polluting XDA with them. thanks.
P.S- See how every one of your posts do not include any help for the original author of this thread? That says something about you. You might want to take a look at that.
