If you haven't visited RC's page on google+, he just posted another tease on CM9 for us and said "just a couple more buglets to solve." Cross your fingers that we're getting close.
Edit: you can append anything to the url. No placeholder.
super cool considering cm9 is not available for very many devices right now.
Currently, you can compile CM9 for a small number of devices- notably the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi and T-Mobile versions), the HP Touchpad and Motorola Xoom. The next devices to show up will likely be a whole array of Samsung phones (Exynos chipset), with devices based on the Qualcomm MSM8660 and 7×30 chipsets to follow.

Too bad I'm selling the LG. Oh well, I'd like to see some vids once it's all said and done.
@scott, I don't look at CM as my saving grace for supplying an ICS ROM. There are countless others out there that have supplied an ICS ROM for various devices, some of them are actually more stable than the ICS Kang builds.
the man is evil giving us the teases....I want to be testing that rom.
a user asked him where he would be releasing the CM9 for our phone once it's ready, and he gave this:
http://get.cm/
So I say let's keep an eye on it
He was replying to the guy who asked where to find the CM9 public repo for the p990.
Yeah the P990 (G2X/O2X) has had Nightly CM9 builds for some time now.

A user.... ouch that I get denigrated to just A user...
That was me asking as I could never find any of his commits to the git repository. Still not sure if he has submitted anything yet, but I will get checking that link on a regular basis. I think I may also send a message to koush to see if he has what is needed to create CWM for our phones...
And he was replying to me - and I asked specifically about the 930. He +'d my name on the reply which is the only way I know he was talking with me...
even if cm9 for 930 publish, camera work fluently is or not is a big probrem
Man I can't wait for that to come out. I would figure our nitro would be a worthy candidate as its been pretty much made with ice in mind. Knowing att those jerks.....we wont get an official one till like the summer....if even then
Sent from my LG-P930 using XDA
According to the guys at the att store...that there is supposed to be a ics push sometime within the next 30 days....at least that is what they said when I bricked my phone and replaced it...they thought that maybe I got a push already...I kind of looked at them like they were crazy...then one said to the other that he read it in their "kms" system. When I worked for sprint KMS stood for Knowledge management system...it was essentially the end all be all of all possible knowledge about a phone or company policy.
I still think this is speculation and I won't say with 100 percent confidence that either of them were telling the truth.
If At&t does push ICS out, would that make it easier to compile CM9 for the VS920 (LG Spectrum)?
Amazing question I don't have a spectrum so I don't know

Spectrum is very similar (same SOC), but it uses a different radio (to account for CDMA). So unless the AT&T version of CM9 is specifically modded, it won't work for Spectrum.
There is now a placeholder on the CM mirror network. When available, downloads should show here.

you want ICS, go compile it from source.

We're all desperate for ROM updates, even the devs are when they're baffled by coding languages, but this is totally in the wrong forum and not even I ask for ETAs!
We love you, but it's just like growing up, and how your father might've told you to never ask for money. Here, ROM updates symbolise some free sort of money!

also with these other devices it was always a concern that we wouldnt see the source.
I believe the source dropped within two weeks of the phone being released.
So unless samsung really screws up they are already ahead of the game.

You sir are retarded. Steve (Cyanogen), personally has our device and promised we would get CM9. Additionally the newer Galaxy line will be some of the 1st devices to get updated ICS as confirmed by Samsung on their website & every tech hideout on the frigging web.
Let's leave the smart phones to smart people ok ?
A number of people (myself included) "donated" (it's not really a donation when you're asked to do it in exchange for something) to Cyanogen for the purpose of having their ROM on our phones. It would be common courtesy for them to at least provide a progress update every now and then. But apparently on this forum where arrogance rules asking for a timeline is a deadly sin.
You guys are so self-righteous it's disturbing. Yes, I donated $20 to Cyanogen and I would like to know when the ROM we were promised will come to fruition.
How is this any different than Bubby taking everyones money and never doing anything with the phone?

with the constant samsung vs apple wars It would be a huge mistake to piss off the people who put them in the top contending position. You'd pretty much be sealing your fate with the mobile industry. I really dont think they will set themselves up for failure. Specially with an android God working for them.
I thought I'd clear some things up.
If I'm wrong please don't flame me, I'm only doing my best to subdue the general discontent in [sgh-t989]/[android development]...
Steve Kondik, also known as the creator of the godfather of all ROMS (cyanogenmod) personally owns one of our t989s (source:twitter). That, combined with the fact that this is a FLAGSHIP t-mo device probably means that our phone will be supported from the day that 9.0.0 drops.
Now, let me tell you what this means.
As you all know, for a device get non-kang CM9 our hardware must be fully supported. Camera, GPS, bluetooth, egl drivers all must work.
When a huge scale ROM like CM9 is cooked for so many devices I understand it goes something like this
[AOSP modified by Cyanogenmod(teamdouce)] +
[Android Kernel, also modified by Cyanogenmod]+
[Device tree]+
[A virgin sacrifice]=
CYANOGENMOD
Now the interesting bit, is that as soon as the device tree (Eg. Specific driver modifications for GPS, Camera, GPU) includes our device the device tree can be used to power OTHER AOSP ROMS like Miui
I know that gingerbread MIUI already makes use of the CM7 device tree, so in all likelihood they will use the CM9 device tree as well!!!
So in conclusion.
-Because CM9 has a high likelihood of dropping on our devices as soon as it comes out (most likely within the next 30 days)
-Because other AOSP-Based roms depend on the cyanogenmod device tree
-WE WILL HAVE A LOT OF FLASHING OPTIONS SOON
-Probably including CM9 AND MIUI v4 <<<<--------THAT **** CRAY
Thanks for your time, hope it helped
Don't forget the thanks button feels good when you push it.

the thing is, many of those are KANGed as in not officially supported by CM team
of the few that officially are supported is Nexus S i9020 and SGS i9000
even the "classic" SGS2 i9100 is not fully supported by CM yet, there's more bugs than... well it's not usable as a daily driver
that was just before the end of last year
they might have improved it a bit by now
even the Nexus S version of CM9 is still very buggy, that's why i have the stock official ICS4 instead on my Nexus S

It takes time for this stuff guys. Anyone remember how long it took to jump from donut to eclair to get a stable rom? And look how few devices there were that actually ran android. This whole "if its not done in 2 weeks then its never happening" thing is a bit unfair. Let the devs dev and those who do not can wait for them quietly.

It only takes 2 weeks to modify the stock rom or cm7/9.
Its the expectation that is built when people act like quantity is all that matters. There are basically only 2 people making roms; Samsung and CM team, everyone else just waits on these 2 so that they could tweak and modify one of those 2. The funniest part is that the use of the word "kanging" is thrown around among these other people.

I'd like to believe, I really would. And I hope this does come to fruition. However, even if it doesn't, the few ROMS we do have are pretty good, and our phone still outperforms almost anything else available right now, so I'll still be happy.
I do have one request, though. Can we figure out a way to make CM based ROMS happen without a virgin sacrifice? There are so many other things in life that require those, that they are starting to become scarce
The fact that lots of other phones have alphas and repositories available to even make kangs does not fare well for our device.

Yup, the Atrix 4G, the phone I was previously on, which my mom is currently using, just got a CM9 ICS ROM -_-;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445052
We need to start moving and trying to get ICS on the Nitro. Even the Rezound also got AOSP ICS port, albeit some things still borked.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/htc-rezound-gets-pure-aosp-ice-cream-sandwich-port/
Despite all the talk of starting slow with some improvement ROMs and maybe a CM7, I hate to say this, but we need to get either CM9 or ICS, or at least some kind of progress towards it. Every phone out there, old and new, are getting ICS or CM9 infused into them, I don't believe we can't do so with ours. We will spark much more interest in people and members here and maybe even more Devs if we bring ICS to the table. What do you guys/gals think?
I agree.
This is my first Android device and I really enjoy it a lot, thus I hope this phone can get a lively community of mods, roms, etc. At the same time, the SGSII LTE HD will be launching on AT&T soon, and I think that in order for this community to thrive we need ICS before this launch. The SGSII LTE HD is just about equal to the Nitro HD as far as specs are concerned, many who demand 720p and LTE will have the choice between the Samsung and the LG. Due to reputation, Samsung will undoubtedly outsell the Nitro.
I write this not to be **** and try to boss around people who donate their time and receive no more than some meaningless "Thanks" count. I am very appreciative that we have people like Bytecode, Kernelpanic, Cloudraker, and Malnilliom. (sorry if I left some people out, these guys just came to mind)
Lastly, does anyone know where to get guides on doing things like "ROM-cooking" and CM ports. Like I said, this is my first Android phone and I really don't know where to begin looking for this kind of information.

Yeah, I didn't even know about the Skyrocket HD until someone mentioned it here on our thread, and I immediately thought to myself, "Aww F*** we are screwed now". I think it's a **** move by AT&T to release their "flagship" phone under LG and then less than a month later announce the Skyrocket HD. Ok .. we all know that XDA members and especially the Dev's are anxious to get there hands on an OFFICIAL AT&T release of JellyBean 4.1.x for our SGSIII's .. well, I can tell you this .. so far, AT&T (that I'm aware of) have already gone through 3 releases .. and NOT one of them have found there way up here on XDA.
The 4 builds so far are:
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLI7:user/release-keys
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ2:user/release-keys

samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ3c:user/release-keys
So .. if ANYONE knows, has access, secrets .. etc etc etc .. please release or leak so that our Dev's can have some real fun
I have searched high and low all over the internet .. I have been unable to find absolutely ZIP on all 3 releases.

Ya seriously, we need someone on the inside to release these leaks.
I have been toying with installing a JB custom ROM from here, but all of them have things that just aren't working.
Sometimes I am tempted to just go back to the iPhone and get a 5.
I would love to install an official leak. Would make me feel better.
I am sure we will see something very soon in the form of a leak or info on official release. A Sprint document was just leaked stating the their official JB update pushes tomorrow. Unfortunately its always the case that AT&T takes longer on updates than others.
Ooo, watching this thread eagerly. Phandroid released an article today that Sprint is going to start JB updates for their GS3s starting tomorrow:

(EDIT: Somebody gave this thread a 1-star rating, so I gave it a 5 to raise the current avg to 3)

yeah, even if I won't use the stock JB rom, devs will to make our CM/AOKP much much better.
awaiting development.

And they are waiting for leakage.
By the looks of it .. there is now another release out there somewhere for AT&T :
samsung/d2uc/d2att:4.1.1/JRO03L/I747UCDLJ3c:user/release-keys
It doesn't matter if there are a million leaks, without the ability to dl, it doesn't do a lot of good.

I know .. it just sucks that all these are out there somewhere, and we can't get our hands on any of them !!!

Except that CM/AOKP are built almost entirely from source. Considering there isn't really a whole lot that's different between the Sprint, Bell, or whatever other carriers leaked/released their official JB builds for the GS3, i can't imagine having an AT&T specific ROM providing more aide than any of the others have already done.

Regarding what leaks are already out there .. Sprint, Bell, Rogers, T-Mobile etc etc etc // There are still bugs with each one of them on our AT&T SGS3's .. and again, these are of cause leaks .. except the Sprint release which is now Official, and there are even still bugs with that when ported over to ours.
At least, if we can get our hands on a original AT&T leak .. we can see if these same bugs exist between the builds, or if AT&T has everything working as it should .. who knows !!!
That's why I've been posting that there are test builds out there for AT&T .. just cannot find them, or get our hands on them .. I know there is someone out there that has access to these builds .. problem is, that person is telling me that he does "not have permission to release" !!!
I couldn't even get the fella to verify the build numbers for me.
Some devs have serious connections when it's available out well be here

Ohh I'm fully aware of that .. alot of Devs do .. worse part of all this, I know someone on here that already has access to and has been using it .. I cannot persuade him to release/leak what he has, keeps telling me "I don't have permission" !!! SUCKS
His last response to me on Twitter was "I'm good, many people send drama my way for giving them free stuff. some people in the android community just ruin it for everyone." and I haven't heard from him since.
Goal: Bring a fully-functional Open WebOS port to the Galaxy Nexus, GSM and CDMA.

If you know your way around Enyo or Java or Javascript or WebOS of course, and you're interested in working with us on bringing WebOS to the Galaxy Nexus, drop any one of us a PM or reply to this thread!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ETAs
Publish a CWM-flashable zip for easier installation - ehhh we didn't give up per sé, but we have a lot to do...
Restore all stock apps to WebOS image - same as above...
ETAs are tricky, and they aren't always accurate, which is why 99.9% of devs don't bother with them.. But I remember as a non-dev, I really wished devs would give ETAs, even if they weren't so accurate. Haters gonna hate. Anyway, if you don't see something in the ETA list, it doesn't mean we aren't working on it. For example, you don't see an ETA for a, I dunno, beta release, but for all we know we could have one in July (doubt it)... So take ETAs with a grain of salt, and give a cheer when one of our ETAs turns out to be accurate.

Downloads
Open WebOS daily builds by the WebOS-Ports Team
Team Serendipity Downloads (patience ain't just for doctors!)
o- recovery-flashable Zip (replaces Android, BACK UP YOUR DATA)
Torrents
The webo-sports-dev-image.ext2 file for Maguro (June 2013)
The .fastboot file that accompanies it
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WebOS Files
WebOS.ext2 - The actual OS, pushed to the Galaxy Nexus emulated SD card.
WebOS.fastboot - The boot file flashed in the bootloader to temporarily boot WebOS (until a battery pull).
So when you go to either of the teams' download pages, you'll want the one that ends in .ext2 and the one that ends in .fastboot!

Nothing big, but here's the .fastboot file converted to a boot.img that you can use just like any other boot.img.
Great. More efforts on this. Guys, i can get around to build, test, debug. Anyway, Subscribed.

WebOS
I've been following Open WebOS for a while. I still miss my old Pre you know. Don't know too much about what goes into the build process (the WebOS Ports documentation needs work) and I only know a bit of Enyo so I doubt I can contribute. But WebOS on the Gnex sounds great!
Glad someone else is hanging onto WebOS! I agree, see the OP for a link to my guide, it's a little more verbose if you're struggling with theirs.
Very happy to see this! Hope you guys can get a stable release.
We put a hold on this for now, we will revisit it though

Updated OP with torrent files for the latest fastboot + ext2 file combo for Maguro.
If this will work on the Sprint variant, i'd be willing to sell my Galaxy S3 to be able to use WebOS on the Galaxy Nexus.

Isn't Sprint CDMA? If it is, this dev team is stating on THE FIRST POST that this will be for both GSM and CDMA variants.

Your original message when quoting me was, "Isn't Sprint CDMA? If it is, very much unlikely it will work" so I showed you the msg in the first quote.

Did you even read what you quoted? You're now refering to something that I have edited, because naturally, I went back and reviewed the first post. Still, I don't know how they're going to pull CDMA support, because of all the proprietary stuff.
http://forums.webosnation.com/open-...webos-ports-prealpha-release.html#post3356317
If you read closely, you'll see that the poster is a dev for webos-internals.
following, always dreamed of having webos on a big screen. Trying to figure out if I can do the dual boot thing right now.
Don't get your pants in a knot, guys, we've basically given up. I'll still keep the thread up to date with stuff from the WebOS Ports Team, and should they get to like "beta" status, we'll explore getting it to play nice with the CDMA Galaxy Nexuses (Verizon first, then Sprint).
The WebOS Ports Team is still working on this, though, it turns out they update the build for the Galaxy Nexus pretty regularly.
Also remember that at this point, there are no "toro", "maguro", "toroplus" builds, the one build they have works with all three.
I have to edit the link to their builds, which I'll do right now, find it in the OP...
Would make me very happy to see this come to light. I'll subscribe and I'm open to some closed testing.
