N7105 does not have nv_data.bin
Please forgive me if I am mistaken…
I noticed that the N7105 does not have nv_data.bin (I think Samsung LTE devices don’t have this).I’m not certain that a traditional efs backup will be enough to ensure the safety of your IMEI when flashing.
To be on the safe side in addition to the traditional efs backup I also followed the steps in the following post to create an IMEI backup using QPST:

thx , can we then flashe the other roms in 7100 and restore the back up from 7105 ? does it work that why or no?

Thanks for this information. Worked for me fine. Could save a very expensive bricking in the future!

Thanks for your remind, this is very important information for all Note 2 LTE user!!!
This is incredibly useful information and thanks a lot for that - backed my data up just to be on the safe side!
This should, however, be on the EFS partition so if you are using TWRP you can actually create a full system backup including the EFS partition. I have been trying to get the N7100 CM build running on my N7105 by patching in various radio files and with the help of a certain developer within the N7100 community. So far the progress is slow but during this time I have been restoring back and forth between samsung stock and CM10. The facts of the process are this:
- The N7100 restores have to be patched to remove the check for N7100 (or you can use the N7100 recovery but that's not recommended.)
- The N7100 restores do *not* have support for our Qualcomm radio
- The N7100 restores *DO* work with Wi-Fi within our N7105 since this chip is the same
Essentially if you flash CM10 you end up with a tablet at this time but as I say, I am working on this when I get the time to fiddle and am hoping to get the N7105 CM build working properly.

Same for me ! I need the qcn file backup to restore my N7105.
Hi,
I wanted to root my Note 2 and try few things. And as a first step, I'm trying to find a right way to perform an EFS backup for my note 2. I did read in few threads that traditional EFS backup way will not work in note 2. And I found that there are couple of ways,
1) Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit here (which is not been updated for months now)
2) EFS Professional v2.0 here (but this points to the 9305. I understand both 7105 and 9305 share same Soc / Chipsets. But still is it right way?)
Is there are better way to do an EFS backup for Note 2? Please share some thoughts.
Here if you need rooting guide post #2 of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
If you use method 2 to root, then recovery also will have option to backup EFS.
If you have already rooted device
Here EFS backup tool

Thanks, but the EFS backup link point to N7100 (non LTE model). Is it the same for N7105 (LTE model) as well?

Hello!
Do you still happend to have the backup? I desperately need a n7105 backup as my imei is destroyed.
Thanks
BR,
Andrei
Hi evilbarcode,
Would you still possibly have the back up? I have messed up the GPS somehow on my N7105T and do not have a NV file back up. I don't need your IMEI just the NV data.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

I had this problem and i installed the stock 4.3 via Odin. You can try this.Good luck!
if flashing stock doesn't work, try to flash modem.

Ok I flashed slim bean rom and now I am getting LTE and data but the IMEI is still 0, I went to the efs folder to check what files are there, there is no nv file in the entire fiolder.
How do I write and inject the nv file any idea? I tried following a few threads but they require me to run *#7284# when I do that I get 'Connection problem or invalid MMI code.'
I am stuck !!
4.4.2

Kernel 3.4.80 - cyanogenmod
Slim 4.4.2 build 3 official 3061
network AT&T
The IMEI is probably 0 because you need to use nv writer to inject the imei into the efs folder.

at step 2 as I am on the aosp rom how do I go about the diag method as I can't access the Qualcom settings with the code
"2) Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
*If you are running a aosp rom (cm9,cm10,aokp etc) you can use the diag method described HERE"
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to do. All I can suggest is flashing back to stock, running through the process, and then go back to a custom ROM.
For those who've flashed the official kitkat and lose signal just need a EFS backup from somebody with the same phone model (functional obviously). Make a EFS backup with freegee in your phone, and replace m9kefs1 from the EFS backup functional to your EFS backup and freegee folder, then reboot, restore EFS backup and reboot again. It works for me
what about imei ,did you lose it ?

No, because you'll only change m9kefs1 that's related to radio, m9kefs2 is the imei and phone number
for me don`t work ,work only if i change all efs 1,2,3 but 1 only not work ,can you give your efs 1 backup ?
