Ok I flashed slim bean rom and now I am getting LTE and data but the IMEI is still 0, I went to the efs folder to check what files are there, there is no nv file in the entire fiolder.
How do I write and inject the nv file any idea? I tried following a few threads but they require me to run *#7284# when I do that I get 'Connection problem or invalid MMI code.'
I am stuck !!
4.4.2
I747UCUEMJB
Kernel 3.4.80 - cyanogenmod
Slim 4.4.2 build 3 official 3061
network AT&T
The IMEI is probably 0 because you need to use nv writer to inject the imei into the efs folder.

at step 2 as I am on the aosp rom how do I go about the diag method as I can't access the Qualcom settings with the code
"2) Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
*If you are running a aosp rom (cm9,cm10,aokp etc) you can use the diag method described HERE"
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to do. All I can suggest is flashing back to stock, running through the process, and then go back to a custom ROM.

if flashing stock doesn't work, try to flash modem.

Hi,
A friend of mine has a starway wiko and flash a rom from another cellphone. The result was invalid imei and i already tried everything to put the imei unsuccessfully. I used this method and used MTKdroid tools but after reboot i have no imei.

I solved by first format on sp flashtool to restore baseband and then add imei using mtkdroid tools.
for canvas 4
I used the instructions as mentioned in below youtube link to restore IMEI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiLTVg5xMt8 (Thanks to the Manish, owner of video in youtube)
This link shows how to solve "invalid IMEI" issues.
You would need to note down your IMEI nos and then enter them manually according to this video.
try sptools and Pranjals Rom, that solved my issues in one go.
Happy New year.....
Regards
I've updated to the new bootloader and modem which resulted in losing my IMEI. I can't seem to get QPST working because the dial codes don't work on synergies for some reason. Does anyone know how to get QPST working on the UCUFNE4? If so, what rom is it working on?
Thanks in advanced!
What is the baseband showing on your phone? Does it match your bootloader?

Yes it does
I am not sure but nvwriter may help you inject the imei.

I think it would too if the codes would work:
2) Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
The above code does nothing on synergy rom, and I can't odin back to stock since I am on the updated bootloader.
What about flashing a Samsung-based custom ROM in recovery?

Synergy is a TW rom, I will try another.
I think you need a rom with a stock Samsung dialler.

Thats a step closer, it will bring up a menu now, but not corresponding to the guide. It says "Service" at the top and gives me the option to switch between MTP or MODEM. I tried switching to MODEM but QPST still won't detect it.

How did you fix it? Post your solution as it may help other XDA members with a similar issue.
I have I galaxy III SGH T999 and installed the gummy ROM recently. I had been getting 3G /H instead of 4g/LTE so I decided to flush an LTE enabler modem. After I did this I have been unable to get service and my IMEI says unknown. Prior to doing this i had backed up my EFS folder onto my desktop using EFS backup tool. Now I am trying to restore EFS to see if it help. Could some please walk me through how to restore this folder? Thanks in advance.

One does not simply flash a modem from a different d2, you said you have a t999 therefore its not LTE capable... Only the T999L is capable of LTE ... Try flashing modems meant for the T999 like VUENC2 which is the latest... You'll find it on docholiday's modem thread

Thank you for the response. I will try your suggestion. How do I resolve the issue of unknown IMEI. As I said earlier, I backed up EFS prior to all these problems but I just cannot figure out how to restore it> I have tried the the emulator, copied directly from my desktop, EFS backup pro, but none has been helpful.
Well pray that its only showing that because of incompatible modem and flashing correct modem will fix it, honestly I have no idea , I never had an imei wiped before...
I tried flushing modems as you suggested but it did not work. Thanks for your help though. Anybody else. Please help me out. I need to figure out how to restore the back up of my EFS folder. There are a few files in the folder. One folder says IMEI and and I also have an EFS.img file saved to my desktop. Please help me.
Hello
My friend tried to flash a custom ROM and his IMEI is now invalid/null
I found a fix on YouTube entering EngineerMode using the dialer and we can't open it
Is there any other way to fix the IMEI? We do not have an EFS Backup
Flash the latest stock rom from sammobile.com and then check imei.

Flashed already but still IMEI is invalid
Hmm, maybe search for nvwriter as some people have reported success with using this app to inject the original imei.
