Hi,
There is such post in Dev forum, but it was never answered... I have ArcS with FXP45 on it, but didn't flash SEMC 4.0.2.A.0.42 rom before flashing this one... Now I have high battery drain and found that this SEMC version fixes it. Can I now flash it and then go back to CM7?
Thanks,
Michal
yes you can
you can flash .42 and then flash cm7

It's usually written on page where the ROM is posted, just check back to that ROM page and search kernel used. Remember, if it's entirely new, flash kernel first then flash ROM. If the ROM use the same kernel you've flash before, just flash ROM only
Hope it helps

That one goes with stock kernel, doomkernel snd arcknight.
Did you flash it over a gingerbread rom ? If so first flash a stock ics with flashtool and then go for the MooDeD.

Flash stock ROM only via flashtool ver. 18.5 or 18.6
This was my first time trying to load a custom kernel and rom to my Arc. I chose Doomkernel and the Ice bean rom. Everything installed fine but I can't get wifi or 3g working. After reinstalling the kernel and the rom several times I've still not been able to get wifi or 3g working.
I eventually gave up on doomkernel and tried to install Arc Knight. After flashing the Arc Knight kernel I get the Arc Knight splash screen. After about 10 seconds the phone reboots and loads the Doomkernel O_O.
I really like the Ice Bean rom and would love to get it working. What am I doing wrong? I pretty noob when it comes to android/linux so I need some help please!

Given how old DoomLords Kernel is I'm surprised People still recommend it. As for the above, sounds like you've not used the right command - fastboot flash boot NAME OF KERNEL.img
derp. I was using fastboot boot imagename. Reflashing now...
Thanks!
OK. I was able to change to the Arc Knight rom. Now reinstalling Ice Bean. Hopefully the Wifi and 3g will be working...
Nope. Wifi and 3g are still not working. Any ideas? (I have installed the stock drivers)

Reinstall a stock 587 ROM with the flashtool and start over.
Which would you recommend XD?

Do I just need to flash the ROM or do I need to flash stock kernel as well? Also where do I find the 587 ROM?
Flashed orginal firmware with flash tool and same problem.
Mods: Please close this thread and I will start a new one with a more suitable title.

If your kernel screen comes up then its not bricked. Just flash the stock ftf. Search for it as r800x stock 2.3.3 ftf. Download flash tool and flash it with that. Its self explanatory. Also Zeus is for r800i you need to use zeusc though it should still have booted (only service wouldn't work). After flashing ftf try again and make sure you clear data/cache/dalvik and format system from recovery before installing. Also it might just take a a couple minutes to boot. Don't worry about bricking the play. Flash tool will fix almost all software problems. Usually the only way to mess it up is physically.

in step 3 you must uncheck some thing in flashtool but i forgot them ...
instead you can use unlocking your bootloader and then flash stock pre-rooted kernel and install SU on your rom...
(its very easier than your way)
Maybe you can try the one click root... It's there in general section...

If you're going to use Stock ROM
if you flashed back .587 ftf, you probably left all .sin checked. You should have unchecked kernel.sin, No final verification unchecked.
Reflash custom kernel. If still no root, flash flashable zip in SuperSU thread
If you're going to use a custom ROM
Just flash respective kernel, wipe data, cache, dalvik, system in CWM and install rom. No need to root .587, flashing .587 is for increasing partition only(in case).

kernel.sin if you flashed kernel before flashing .587 ftf. Or you may flash ftf, then flash kernel, then flash zip in SuperSU thread.
Are you needing Stock ROM or Custom ROM?

If your BL is unlocked you should download Rom and kernel that you want
rom must be .zip and you should place it in sd card
kernel must be .img or .elf
and kernel Wi-Fi modules must be .zip and you should place it on SD too
then you download QuickIMG tool and place the kernel in images folder of it
then turn off phone and hold menu key and plug usb cable
LED would be blue
then you open QuickIMG and choose your kernel and flash it
then turn on phone
when the led is blue you should press Vol down key
then you enter CWM
do:
-wipe date
-wipe cache
-mount and storage > format/system
-advanced> wipe dalvick cache
then install zip and choose Rom
then install zip and choose Wi-fi modules
reboot...

CM10 you say then you need a custom JB kernel, like Fusion,Lupus or nAa kernel, or whatever kernel you want.
You don't need X-Parts. There are many tutorials out there. But I'll just help you.
Download kernel and paste to pc, in any folder.
1) Flash .587 ftf
2) Flash custom kernel (with phone off, hold menu button, connect to pc. Go to Flashtool, then click the thunderlike button, select fastboot mode, select kernel to flash, point to kernel file)
3) Boot, then repetitively press back button to boot to CWM. If lupus kernel, it is volume down.
4) wipe data,cache,dalvik cache,system
5) Install ROM
