hi
I am selling my phone to a friend and would like to format everything and restore to factory default.
By doing the 'factory reset' function via the settings > storage method, it seems only the internal(system) storage is cleaned.
so how do i format the 'phone' storage?
can i simply just usb it and format that partition?
or can i just usb it and just DELETE everything there?
whats the best way?
Settings > storage > erase SD card
storage > erase phone storage
THANK YOU!
how simple was that... :victory:

Peoples, seems a silly question but just wish to confirm that if you flash a new ROM will it wipe the internal storage....presume not, but just like to confirm & check
Thanks
There is an option in the "Clear Storage" utility which apart from resetting your phone will format the internal storage as well!!! The default option however will only clear the phone memory. If you use the 3 button reset procedure only the phone will be reset.
Great, thanks!
I was using dualrom to store roms on my emmc and now I have to send my phone in for repair. I just realized the data wipe even super wipe does not erase emmc. How do I do that?
Plug it in the computer and format the external media that's not the SD card.
I'd flash a Sense ROM (Personally, I'd use Liberation) and go into settings, SD & Phone Storage, then erase/format internal storage.

Boot into clockworkmod and select "mounts and storage" when you scroll down you find the options "format /emmc" (internal storage) & "format /sdcard" (self explanatory)
After that run a full wipe from here
Hope that helps !
trying to get a game working, i was told to unmount the sdcard and install using the internal. Heres the thing, when i unmount my sdcard, it unmounts internal and external storage. Also, my external sdcard is listed as /emmc folder and the internal phone staorage is located at /sdcard (they are switched). I think this is a know issue, but how do i unmount just the SDCARD, in this case emmc folder? Any ideas? Is this even possible?
Like i said, i go to system settings>storage>unmount sdcard and it unmounts both (i cant see anything in root explorer for emmc folder as well as sdcard) frustrated.
Go to settings > storage > settings > storage config > check use internal storage > reboot. See if that helps with anything or flips the mounts. Lmk if it does/doesnt work.

i was just gonna edit my post, i tried doing that, and i did in fact flip the mounts, then i was able to reinstall nba jam and it works now! woooo! thanks rick, always you dude...(except this time it was me, but you were right too)
I have CWM installed but can't see a way to wipe the virtual sd card (/data/media). I goto Advanced > Mounts and Storage > wipe data but it doesn't wipe the virtual SD. Also, factory defaulting doesn't either.
What's up?
Fastboot erase userdata

Awesome!
Thank you.
