[Q] can i erase emmc - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using dualrom to store roms on my emmc and now I have to send my phone in for repair. I just realized the data wipe even super wipe does not erase emmc. How do I do that?

Plug it in the computer and format the external media that's not the SD card.

I'd flash a Sense ROM (Personally, I'd use Liberation) and go into settings, SD & Phone Storage, then erase/format internal storage.

[Q] What data on mass storage gets erased during wipes?

Given the "new" mass storage system set up on our Galaxy Nexi, what is kept and what is erased when we wipe data and/or other 'partitions'?
When I fastboot oem unlock'ed, everything on the mass storage was wiped out. I was kind of expecting it, so no problems.
EDIT: read that SDcards also get wiped when fastboot oem unlock is executed. Okay, that's a parallel.
I'm wondering because when lots of ROMs start appearing ripe for flashing, will we have to transfer all the contents of the mass storage over to a hard drive, flash the ROM, etc., and then transfer all the contents back? In particular, our titanium backup backups.
Whereas with other Androids with SDcards, provided you didn't specifically wipe sd-ext or format the SD, that was regarded as safe.
After the bootloader is unlocked CWM acts the same as any other device. The "sd card" isn't wiped when flashing.

HELP how do I format my internal storage from fastboot

whats the correct command to format my internal storage in fastboot? I ask a I'm paranoid that I'll wipe the wrong partition and brick.
My internal storage (possibly more partitions????) is borked from trying a nandroid when I didn't have enough space (2gb not enough lol). Now everything is running f-cked and laggy. Tried full wipe and everything.
I tried erase storage from settings but now I cant even get back into recovery, it reboots instantly!!!

Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
I finally deleted everything. Via PC lol
I would not suggest you to play with EMMC (internal sd) since there is a brick bug. Not sure it will cause only by the script format or plain formatting. Just delete all the files IMO

I always format my emmc and sdcard inside CW Recovery and never had a problem.
I only did it after running SuperWipe and only in CW Recovery

format sd card

hi i use the wipe script from ARHD how can i format to default partition format the sd card?
using cwm to format or there is another method to format the sd card?
after format will work device like before or need to reflash rom or all apps reinstall?
The SD card is pretty separate from other ROM stuff. Apps have data on there as well as photos, etc.
You can format from CWM or from within the ROM, or mount as USB and format it.

Lenovo A820

Hello, I've installed rom from cappa72 and do repartition
Repartition
of internal memory of the Lenovo A820 phone has been solved already.
With this action youd intednal SD card will be disappeared and will be added to the /data partition.
Before you do anything, make a CWM backup, and save all your data from internal SD card!
The easiest way is to use this CWM script, if you want to have the maximum available size (2,7GB) for the /data partition.
You have to install it from CWM recovery.
After the installation you need to do a factory reset.
After the factory reset, you have to disable your internal SD card, with CWM script.
And then, you can reboot your phone to check if yo have got the new size of /data partition:
settings --> storage
"internal data storage; full capacity 2,7GB"
"internal SD card; full capacity <your physical SD card capacity"
If the above data appear, you have successfully repartitioned you phone's internal memory!

Now when I installing some others roms they are not working. Only waking up, screens shows lenovo logo and thats all. Is that because I did repartition? How to repair that?
