Hello,
For my first post on this forum so I introduce myself, I live in the region of Liège in Belgium, I have 20 years and I just bought 3 months now I9300 galaxy s3, here's my question and I think I 'm not the only one to encounter this problem VERY LARGE because it is really very serious for a phone like the GS3
I'm running 4.1 JB Polish, first I check that my problems come from the phone and not my sim card .. Just as my old BB 5520 I never had any problems, and I notice that when I encounter problems if I cut back on the 3g and its re works ..
So to start 3/4 problems are encountered with the Facebook application.
What happens? Worse than slow internet modem 56k, break connection without stop I have to refresh each time without success and again he told me that there is no connection when I'm on 3G ...
I refer to her: network-3g-unstable-SGS3-t19656.html
I have a can chippoter but nothing happens
Almost IMPOSSIBLE to access facebook via 3g, and my web pages I often update 5.6x before something
PS: I'm not very good in english so please excuse me
Thank you so mutch
no person has met the same problem as me? Strange
This question is probably better suited in the I9300 GS3 forum, a moderator should be by at some point to move this.
I had already put in the I9300 forum but have moved here, nobody has the same problem as me? Reassure me that I am not the only one I have yet seen many post on this forum talking about the same problem of instability 3g ..

I am the (otherwise) happy owner of a Tmobile Touch Pro 2 running the official WM 6.5 update. The phone has been running fine since I purchased it last September.
Last week, the phone started behaving strangely and I fear that something might be wrong hardware-wise.
The phone loses connection (both phone and data) periodically, especially if I am moving around. Sometimes, if I soft-reset the phone, it will connect again. For example, I walk half a mile, the phone looses connection, sometimes looks like is trying to re-connect, sometimes it even shows the connection symbol (without the E or 3G superscript) but it will not make/receive calls nor navigate the internet. as I said, sometimes a soft-reset will regain connection.
Originally, I thought that it might be a problem with the coverage in the NYC area and northern suburbs. But my wife's Tmo G1 runs perfectly under the same conditions.
I have done, everything I could think of, including performing a hard reset a few days ago. Should I just take it to assistance? Is this a known problem? Does it sound like a problem with the sim-card? Any settings that I can try?
I would appreciate any help/suggestion. I hope that I did not post this in the wrong forum, in which case I apologize.
Thanks everybody

The 6.5 ROM from T-mobile uses a different radio than the 6.1 ROM you had before, and the reception can be affected as a result...some users have reported that it makes it better, some have reported that it makes it worse.
You have the ability to switch the radio back to the 6.1 version, or several others that are available as well. Instructions, along with a list of available radios is on THIS thread.
The radio that's in your 6.5 ROM is the one on that list that ends in .57
The one that was in your 6.1 ROM is the one that ends in .14
I've heard that other T-mobile users have had luck in CA with the one that ends in .17
Read the instructions there thoroughly, then read 'em again
Good luck!
Thanks Sirphunkee.
This is great advice. Yet I have never flashed a ROM and the risk would be too high to transform my rhodium into an expensive paperweight.
I guess I will have to live with this problem at least until I am eligible for a phone upgrade, which would reduce the injury in case of a fatal outcome. ;(
If any remedy ever becomes available in the form of an idiot-proof .cab, I'd be glad if someone give me a head-up.
Thank you very much again
I have managed to revert the radio ROM to its prior version (ending in .14)
It looks like things are back to normal. One more question, the list of the Rhodium radio ROMs indicates in parentheses that some ROMs are T-Mobile, other HTC etc..
Does it mean that
1. those listed as Tmobile ROMs are stock Tmobile radio roms? OR that
2. those are the only ROMs that will work on Tmobile RHodium?
OR all of the above.
I would like to try some other radio ROMS to see if reception can be further improved but would not want to make damages installing the wrong one.
Thanks,
Hi all, i know this is a well talked about subject as i have done numerous google/ask searches, i find an awful lot but don't really seem to get any answers, over the last week i must have read hundreds of pages so please anyone who is going to tell me to google this problem, please don't as i have until i could scream lol......anyway, this is the problem i am having......
Hubby bought the HTC desire on ORANGE but then decided he wanted an iphone4 so he gave his desire to me, i am a vodafone user, as we have teenage children and the freedom/family packs are such good value, i wanted to stay on vodafone so i got the phone unlocked with an unlock code at my local mobile fone shop...hubby had never used it as a phone, just as a gadget to mess about on so we weren't aware there was any problems.... the problems i am having are these...i can't get the phone to hold a call, if i use wmcda only mode, its slightly better and i can usually get a call out but it will drop out if i stay on the line to long, if i use gsm only then i can't get a call out at all, the phone stays silent for a few seconds and then just drops out......on both settings the signal is fluctuating like mad and often gives me a x where my signal should be, i love the phone as a gadget but at the moment im not getting much luck with it as a phone.....a few things i thought may be to blame are
could it be the way the fone shop unlocked it??
i have used the same sim card (voda) for around 4+ years, could i need a better sim???
could it be because all the settings on the phone belong to orange and arn't set up to use on voda??
i have read on a few sites where people have returned these phones only to be given another one that has the same issues where others have recieved another hand set and the problem is solved but some people say they have no call dropping/signal issues at all and love the phone....im confused, i have been looking around the site and seen peopl are using custom roms and/or debranding the phone, could that help with my issues??
if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it ...
thanks in advance
emma......ps sorry for such a long post
If your SIM is 4+ years old, I would suggest that a new one might be in order, so at the very least I'd request one if I were you.
You've not mentioned which ROM version or baseband you phone is currently using (see Menu->Settings->About Phone->Software Information). Try posting these so we can see if you are running a very early ROM and/or radio.
Regards,
Dave
P.S. Lastly, divorce hubby for being unfaithful to the Desire and buying an iPhone!
lmao he's an iphone fanatic, he has the 3g, 3gs and now the iphone4, oh and a macbook lol.. personally i love the desire but i'm having a nightmare using it as a phone, i called HTC up on friday and ups have actually just came and picked it up, i have been waiting on them, so i can't actually check anything now, i wish i had realised and put the stats of the phone in my post, they said it will take 7/10 working days to get it back and i feel lost already lol....i am hoping and praying that they can sort the problem out, i have also requested new sims from vodafone and they are on their way to me also, so if i get my phone back and i still have same issues with my sim i will try the new sim, if that doesn't work, then i guess i'll be back on here or trading it in
i think im right in thinking the rom is the software, but by radio are you referring to the FM radio or to the radio waves your phone uses??
I have an iMac and a Macbook, but I dislike the walled garden that Apple has put up around the iPhone/iPad!
When I referred to the radio, I meant the cellular radio - not the FM radio, but the point is moot now if you've sent it in for repair!
Regards,
Dave
yeah i forgot he also has the ipad, i love that like, he jailbreaks them himself so we get all the apps, better than the ipod, which he has also lol...he's a total apple nut!! once i get my device back i will check the stats an post them up here straight away......if the radio is old could that be the problem?? and do the newer ones help, i had to sign a fom to say they could erase everything and put the latest software on so im presuming they will also update the radio?? if so maybe that will correct the problem, i had looked into using a custom rom before i sent it back but i was scared that if i did that then they wouldn't repair/replace the unit also i was a little wary as the instructions seem a little complicated
.......i have since sent my desire of for repair/replacement and have contacted them today (since they have had it 3 weeks) and was told it is ready to be sent back to me and that it has had the mother board replaced...has anyone else had similar problems who had had a new mother board fitted and then the problems have stopped??? im thinking that when it comes back it will be as useless as a phone as it was when i sent it off
thanks
As far as holding calls are concerned, the Desire is bad... much worse than any iPhone I've used. That said in built up areas I never really have problems with voice, but in rural areas the reception is very poor... I struggle to make calls in my house, which was never an issue when I used Samsung phones.
3G reception is a separate issue!
Well the motherboard is basically the phones guts, so that coupled with the new rom/radio should solve your issues. I can't see them replacing the MB just for the sake of it!
Let us know how you find it afterwards. Personally, I've no bother with reception and love my desire
well i've been expecting my phone back for days and it still hasn't arrived, i was quoted 5 to 7 working days when i sent it off for repair 3 WEEKS ago, anyway when it comes back i'll see how it goes and let you all know....could it possibly have something to do wiht the fact that its an orange branded phone and im getting a code to have it unlocked to vodafone????
(which i will have to pay for again now i have a new motherboard)
My brother has a GNex. He is not as tech savvy as I am, so I try to help him out when I can (update his rom, troubleshoot issues, etc.). It's a bit difficult because I live in Texas and he goes to school in North Carolina. Long story short, he is having problems with his phone. He is having issues where the phone will not have any signal at all (literally can't make calls or text or anything). It is not the area he is in because I visited him and had zero issues with my GNex. His phone also says it is December 31, 1999. I found a few threads from a quick Google search describing similar issues, although it seems to be a variety of phones having the issue (I can't post links here yet because I am a 'new' user. If you want to see the threads I posted, this same message is posted at droidHive under Help/Galaxy Nexus and at DroidJunk under General Gnex Discussion). This must be some Samsung issue. He had the problem while running stock 4.0.2. Verizon sent him a ‘certified like new’ replacement and that was okay for a few days, then he had the issue again. I put him on Tranquil Ice 4.0.4 and that fixed the issue for a few days, then it came back. This has all been within the last couple of months.
Basically, I am wondering if anyone has previously heard of this and/or know how to fix it? All of the threads I noted above seem to have died and have not resolved the issue.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
(in case you are wondering, I have a GNex running Junk with no serious issues and I'm loving it)
Just to update, my brother did a battery pull and everything seems to be working properly for the time being.
I'm still interested to know if anyone has more information about the problem described in the OP.
When i first got my Note 2, everything worked like a charm. But then, over the curse of a a week or so, the WiFi signal significantly decreased in strength. So much that it is basically unusable now, it can only be used when the phone is right next to the router - and what's the point then?
I donno what to do, i am thinking about returning the phone. But seriously, this can't be. WiFi works, it just has very, very bad reception. Any1 got suggestions? Or any ideas why it may have such bad reception? I have not dropped it or anything.
This is a serious problem for me, and i have not yet found a solution for this. I have even been contacted by other forum members, if i have found a solution yet, but i clearly have not - hence starting this thread.
Heeelp! :silly: :fingers-crossed:
First of all, as this is my first post, I would like to say hello to everybody on the forum.
I am wondering if you can help me- I read some topics on this forum and didn't find a solution to my problems.
Two months ago I bought a note 2 with 4.1.2 version software.
Two weeks ago I had a notification about a upgrade and I accepted it thinking that it will be 4.2.2.
To my surprise the version of the software didin't change and it still is 4.1.2.
From that moment my problems started- my battery drains faster than it did before and I have some internet issues.
After a while of usage the speed of my wifi internet slows down till it finally stops working even though the wifi connection is still on (connected to the internet).
I have to turn the wifi off an on and than it starts working immediately.
What can cause these problem, is it possible to fix them?
I guess I don't have to mention how irritated I am with this fact making my Note 2 useless in some cases.
Thank you for your help.
