Hye guys,
Got a question is there any way possible to free up some system allocated ram for using intens apps (or for running ubuntu). I know it was possible on certain devices but havent really seen anything for a sense rom.
I'm currently running the mytouch rom. It's very fast for a sense rom. Unbelieveble fast even. Its just you can notice that sense requires so much more ram than say CM7 without sense.
I want to keep all the sense features, but just free up some ram.
Any ideas are welcome.
Cheers
Use a ram cleaner script. It deletes lots of system data to free up more ram on ur phone. Heres the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16244178&postcount=2184

Guys.... I love multitasking and love memory available so ...
I was looking into ram manager app and suddenly came over this app named SWAPit.. It's supposed to expand ram by making a swap file. Any opinions? Or other suggestions?

Did you dowload it??
Maybe you could give opinions so we all can learn...and not download if it's ****e
Since setcpu and juice defender fall into placebo apps category, me thinks this falls into the same category as solar charger.

I don't think this will improve performance. Usual Linux based OS use a swap partition. You can use one in Android too, but no devs recommends it. So i think devs don't recommend to use swap, because it doesn't improve performance.
Yes, swap partition will "extend" the RAM but the truth is Android has its own mechanim to manage apps, so if you're low on RAM, instead of killing an old app you'll slow your system as it will use the swap partition (or file) which is much slower than RAM.
So, let Android do its job !
I will give it a try and report back.

Hello Guys is it good to use Advanced task killer on stock rooted rom XXLMI? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I use it for killing unused apps freeing my RAM.
Especially the One Button Task Kill is a good thing that comes with it.
It doesn't kill your Launcher, but then if you're dependant on music using DSPManager its a good idea to exclude DSPManager in the list.
A very handy app and its my first choice task killer.
i did used that app for awhile but not quite satisfied with it since after i click the clear memory button the running program that hv been cleared will run again after sometime.so its hard for me when i played games(mayb i didnt know how to use it correctly.lol) a lil out of topic,if i may sugget mayb u can try autokiller memory optimizer apps since it also come with some tweaks, and it has a setting configuring how many hidden apps, empty app can be run.it also hv the same one clik memory reclaim.im still using it till now.
Thanks guys

how to control running background app to free more RAM on my Arc ?
i used task killer, but apps return to open again and used Autostart to limit the starting apps with system starting, but RAM is consumed by the apps running in the background.
lagging is the meaning of my ARC now.
it's very very annoying .. any help here ?!
Rom : Xperia Ultimate HD™ 2.0.3
kernel : LuPuSv9
the free RAM range always bet. 40 ~ 130
Seems normal for me. I had to disable apps i didn't really use that were using any ram =/
maybe try this script? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928200
Go to settings - programs - all
Tap the ones you dont need and disable
Task killers waste more energy and make your phone even more laggy because you keep clearing processes from the RAM. I could explain all that but it'd take some time which I dont have now -
So I'll just say that free RAM is wasted RAM. Task killers are stupid, something else is causing the lag.

OK. i feel the lag obviously when closing recently using apps.
it may take more time in opening an app after recently closing another One.
Hi Everyone,
I tried searching through the forums with no luck.
Does anyone know which Rom(s) support app move/install to sd card?
Good question with my s4 it was really nice but I find myself low on space alot on this phone.

Theres no roms that allow it. Samsung coded all phones on 4.0+ to disable that feature for some reason, theres ways around it tho, like android tuner app or link2sd. When samsung releases the 4.3 ota update its gonna allow the apps2sd back in.
