This is a bug in Facebook, not HaxSync. https://www.facebook.com/HaxSync/posts/430832546964821
I use "contact picture sync", give it a try.

Thank you very much for the information, it seems that I will need to wait for facebook to fix the problem.
Don't know if I am understanding the problem correctly. What I did is:
HaxSync>Preferences>Contact Settings>Manage Contacts>'go to any contact' and 'refresh'
Facebook sync works good for Me. Nd try download hacked sync jelly bean workaround from play store

How do you add a Facebook account to sync contacts etc?
I have the Facebook app installed and have added twitter accounts etc through the accounts and sync in settings but Facebook never adds.

You can't. Support was removed back in 2.3.x for the Nexus S. Issues with Facebooks use of Google API's & local storage of contact data or something along those lines. Should be plenty if you search - either on XDA or on the wider intewebs.

let's say I have all important people in my google contacts. I have manually related every one of them to corresponding facebook contacts so that essentially I could see their FB profile photo.

Don't fret folks. There are other options. I use Contapps. It has a feature to sync HIGH QUALITY facebook pictures. You're going to have to go with the pro version.

I understood that the new facebook 1.9.1 would sync contacts with ICS but I do not have this option in my GNex with stock 4.0.4.

It doesn't sync at this time. It shows as an account you can sync, but falls to sync when you tell it to. Google blocks Facebook from sync at this time. Read the other thread about this same topic that was posted yesterday.

well my problem is that I don't even have the option to sync in the accounts manager 9see attached screenshot)
can you pls point me to the thread?
You should keep in mind that facebook copies all of your contact data onto their servers.
This really upset me when I found out about it, so I deleted the facebook app from my devices.

accounts management > add account > choose twitter
then you can choose to sync contacts and data: i am syncing only data

I was using 2.3.3 and now upgraded to ICS 4.04. The problem is in 2.3.3 when I login facebook and gmail I was getting contacts with photos but in ICS 4.04 and cm7 I am getting only contactsd not photos. Please help me with sugestions. I have tried logout and login somany times.
It may be correct....Maybe, it won't show the pictures. Maybe It'll just show the contacts.
I haven't synced with facebook but Google contacts should show photos if that contact has a photo. To check, go to google.com/contacts and see if your contacts indeed have photos or not.
If they do and you still can't see the pictures on your phone, clear the contacts data, reflash gapps and try it again on WiFi.
I think if you mean the picture synced from Facebook to contacts it may be a feature of sense, stock Rom has a system app 'facebook for HTC sense' I think that maybe what does it.
You're better off with HaxSync if you want your Facebook contacts with pictures on your phone.

I don't see why the sync with photos doesn't work in stock sense or CM7 but I don't know about linking in CM7 and CM9. HaxSync is a paid app on the market and IS ONLY FOR CM9
Running Vicious Toro V5 JB 4.1 on Nexus. Option for facebook sync is there. But doesnt work?

It was there in ICS as well. But I'm pretty sure Google still disables the facebook package name in the sync providers apk so it will not work.

Facebook sync already works with the Facebook app on non Nexus devices. It's a dispute between FB and Google so Google blocks the katana package name from sync working.
Cant seem to get my Gallery to sync up my Facebook Albums anymore. It used to work fine. I cant remember the last time I had it sync but I have Flashed Blazer Rom 1.5 and Freegs3 v.08 and .8.1 over the last few weeks. Is there anything I can do to fix this. It was a nice feature to access the albums offline.

Haxsync only syncs your contact pictures, and calendar . The SGS III used to sync the facebook gallery with your SGS III gallery. It was a cool feature. Not sure what happened.

That is for contacts. I want photo albums to sync with photo gallery.. It used to before..
Mine is out and so is my wife's phone.
Mine wouldn't work earlier today.now it's working though.
