I was using 2.3.3 and now upgraded to ICS 4.04. The problem is in 2.3.3 when I login facebook and gmail I was getting contacts with photos but in ICS 4.04 and cm7 I am getting only contactsd not photos. Please help me with sugestions. I have tried logout and login somany times.
It may be correct....Maybe, it won't show the pictures. Maybe It'll just show the contacts.
I haven't synced with facebook but Google contacts should show photos if that contact has a photo. To check, go to google.com/contacts and see if your contacts indeed have photos or not.
If they do and you still can't see the pictures on your phone, clear the contacts data, reflash gapps and try it again on WiFi.
I think if you mean the picture synced from Facebook to contacts it may be a feature of sense, stock Rom has a system app 'facebook for HTC sense' I think that maybe what does it.
You're better off with HaxSync if you want your Facebook contacts with pictures on your phone.

Please confirm if I go for a RoM Official Lewa OS Rom for WFS , will I get facebook photos in contacts. Please help..

I don't see why the sync with photos doesn't work in stock sense or CM7 but I don't know about linking in CM7 and CM9. HaxSync is a paid app on the market and IS ONLY FOR CM9

does anyone know where I can find an unlocked facebook app that will sync contacts with htc sense. i want the facebook for android to sync with my contacts but when running a sense rom, that option isn't there

What??? I am confused as to what you want. Do you have a sense rom. Is it custom or stock. If you want to sync Facebook contacts with regular contacts and you have a sense based custom rom you should have no problem unless you or the rom Creator deleted the Facebook for HTC apk. That is the one that syncs Facebook contacts to regular contacts.
Or you could search the market for an app that will sync the contacts together. I know there is one there but I forgot the name of the app. Just go over to the market and do a search.

what is confusing. I have a sense rom and want to sync with the facebook app and not facebook for htc sense? I've already found what I'm looking for so don't worry about it

I think you should be able to use the official facebook app. When you install that, the first time you run it it asks you if you want to import your facebook contacts.
Not sure though, I haven't installed it recently.
Thanks, but I think its because I'm still using nightly builds of cm7 without the 3.0 sense I'm not able to link contacts via fb.

Uhh...no. that shouldn't be it. I've used cyanogen. The contacts automatically link for me usually, just by me clicking "Sync with existing contacts."

Ditto, it does the same for me. There is an app on the market called SyncMyPix which does this if you can't get the FB sync to work right.

Sense uses Facebook for HTC Sense which does this.
On CM7 just sync within facebook app.
Easy as pie. If you are having issues then clear data within app and reinstall. You should be able to get it to work on first shot.

I have a Galaxy W since yesterday,before I had a htc Desire with htc sense....
There was a facebook contact picture sync,i want to do this now again,so I downloadet syncmypic from market but when I try to use it, there comes the error,that contacts are read only...
Does someone knows an other app for this (to link or just download facebook profile pictures) or a programm for Windows like this one for mac OS :

the facebook sync doesnt actually "add" any real contacts but simply makes them look like they have been added. but will get deleted once you "un sync"

I Don't really understand what you mean...better don't know how it is connected with my qestion.
I just need the contact picture of my friends nothong more ; not birthdays or anything like this,just the picture and manually it is too much to download each. (;

I think but am not sure but if your contacts are on the sim card then you can not add pictures to them. Copy them to the phone or use your google account instead.

There are 2 ways I know you can achieve this:
1) Use Samsung Social Hub, add your FB account and it will give you options to link each of your contacts to a their FB account, this will sync their photos and status updates into your contacts.
2) Use the official FB app, and check the Sync Contacts option. I havent tried it personally but should work similar to Social Hub

I tried it with Social Hub it does link my contacts but doesn't sync their photos :S
And with the Facebook app the same :/

I'm looking for a gingerbread rom that has facebook calendar sync. I remember being on one that allowed it. But I don't remember which one and don't wanna try flash through each one to find it.

Virtuous 2.0 has it
Just checked my Virtuous 2.0 Calendar, and under the Menu -> More -> Calendars I see the facebook calendar as one of the ones I have.

That's a Sense feature. AOSP ROMs seem to not have it. Kinda sad. Maybe when Facebook hopefully updates the app to solve the Contact Sync policy issue with Google, they will add calendar support ? Fat chance, I know. But it's nice to dream

+1. Your best bet is to flash a Sense based ROM. I haven't seen any app (yet) that allows for your facebook calendar to be synced. If you do find one though (an app) let us know! As much of a fan as I am to Sense, I'm hooked on ICS at the moment and just waiting patiently for an ICS ROM with Sense 4.0 =)
For some reason after updating haxsync to the latest version the pictures of my contacts synced with a horrible resolution, is there any other app to sync my facebook contacs in HD? Thank you

Thank you very much for the information, it seems that I will need to wait for facebook to fix the problem.
Don't know if I am understanding the problem correctly. What I did is:
HaxSync>Preferences>Contact Settings>Manage Contacts>'go to any contact' and 'refresh'
Facebook sync works good for Me. Nd try download hacked sync jelly bean workaround from play store
