Hi guys
I am going to buy galaxy nexus but I want 32 gb but locked to verizon
What I want to know is there any hardware or software diffrent between the two like the galaxy s 2 and galaxy s2 T-mobile
Is there any way to unlock it? Cuz I want to use it with another carrier
Thanks in advance

No major hardware differences and it cannot be unlocked to a different carrier. Honestly the verizon version will probably never be able to be unlocked to a different carrier unless they get it working on Cricket or Metro.
Okay, newbie here. Will be buying my first smartphone and I've decided on the galaxy nexus. First, some important info: I'm from Canada. Bell has the phone on a three year contract with a $50 plan, which I don't want. So I'm looking at buying an unlocked version so there won't be contracts and I can use which ever carrier I want.
NegriElectronics seems to sell it unlocked. (aww.....can't post links.)
However, when I asked the guy, he said that it was the GSM version so will only work with gsm networks. But from my research online and a similar post on this forum, it seems that any and all galaxy nexus phones have quadband gsm and pentaband hspa so will work with all carriers?
So I'm currently confused as to which one is correct. I really want to make sure. Since I'm new to this, any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Both are correct. The GNex is a quadband GSM phone, and thus will operate in all GSM networks.
Canadian carriers already killed cdma, so you can use it on basically any carrier you want on Canada. Only if it's not lte SIM card or anything like that

Thank you very much to both for clarifying. So wait, what if I buy the galaxy nexus from either windmobile or mobilicity as they both allow you to buy it outright without contract? Will I still be able to use the phone with other carriers or will it be locked to the company I bought it from?

haha no problem also, if you buy it from retailers, you can easily return it within 14 days if anything is wrong or doesn't work

hey guys ,
I bought a verizon 32 gb Galaxy Nexus (sch 1515) from craigslist. I was in a hurry so i didnt bother to check the phone. (i know i am stupid )
But I am with t-mobile. And when i put my t-mobile simcard in to it. it did not recognise it.
MY question is ... Is there any way to make this phone work on t-mobile (unlocking or anything else ) , Or am i better off by selling it away?
Any help is greatly appreciated
thank you
Nope.
Verizon uses CDMA technology, so it's not compatible with T-Mobile's network. Sell it or trade it for a GSM model. Probably cost you a little bit more, since the unlocked (GSM) version has better resale value usually.

Unlock?
The galaxy nexus was never locked to at&t. You don't need to do anything but stick a new sim card in it

This
the GSM galaxy nexus was SIM unlocked from the get go. the only carrier locked G-nexus' are the verizon and sprint ones.
stick a new SIM in and you are good to go.
you might have seen bootloader Unlocking....allowing you to flash a custom Recover and install Custom RoM's. and since this is a nexus, its SUPER easy.
