Alright this will be short and to the point.
can you add governors to a ROM?
i prefer using "Scary" but most ROMs ive flashed only have a couple govenors, and non are the one i wish to use.
Question is. how can i add the "Scary" governor to my ROM.
i literally know nothing more about governors other than what each one does.
so if you can elaborate a bit.
No. The kernel has the govener. Find out which kernel has that, and flash it to your Rom. Make sure if your Rom is sense, only use sense kernels. Same for aosp

Scary governor is WIP. It will give almost the same performance as conservative right now.
So if you prefer that governor, just select conservative. You won't notice the difference.

Can undervolted kernels silently corrupt all the data on your phone? Is there a way to run stability tests to make sure your CPU can run with the lower voltage?
I'm running Lou's #8 and just want to make sure it's not damaging my phone
Lou's kernels aren't undervolted.

Oh, well then I guess I don't understand what his kernels do if they aren't undervolted or overclocked, what is it helping???
In terms of speed...they're stock...you can check his kernel thread for what each supports and doesn't support and a more detailed description of what they do. They do give decent battery life though which equals ++++++
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
Undervolting won't harm the phone physically, but it can make the phone more unstable, which could lead to data loss/corruption. Especially if you try to tax it too hard. If you notice your phone starting to hang up or restart a bit excessive could mean the undervolting was a little too extreme.
As stated in post 5, no not physically. Most undervolted kernels are based on clock speed, so it's more like scaling the voltage. The idea is, "Why feed it more than it needs? It's just a waste". On that note, I have never seen an issue with it on any kernel I have ever tried. Hope that helps!
Hello,
I used the search tool. But couldn't find a download link.
I'll appreciate it if someone will be kind enough, to post a download link for a governor, like smartass. every know and then I read feedback about it .
I want to try it
thanks
Try eugene373 kernels.

ok, btw I am using the darksideX kernel

Governors are not mods that you can download. They're inherently built into the kernel that you're using. Eugene has smartass built into his streamline kernel, as does synergy. Although I definitely do not recommend using smartass, it doesn't play well with our chipset. Usually after locking and unlocking the screen, it'll stick at max frequency
yes, you are correct, the black edition remake rom came with the synergy kernel, I saw the smartass governor when I open the setcpu app.
But I don't know what happened the smartass governor is now gone! I reinstalled the black edition rom, Hoping to get the smartass back, unfortunately,I still do not get back the smartass governor that came with the synergy kernel. I don't know how to get it back.
I instead flashed the darksideX kernel, it is much smoother, do you know if the darkside X kernel has an update?

Nope, the only updated one is included in his own ROM and can't be found anywhere else.

The reason the smartass governor disappeared is because black edition has been updated to ics and currently there is only one kernel that is compatible with ics and it's the leaked at&t kernel which does not support smartass. If you're on a gingerbread ROM you can just install the synergy kernel to get it back. But like I said, smartass doesn't work for our phones so I don't know why you're so determined to try it

i saw this happening with other governors based on smartass as well.
as far as i know, synergey and streamline have the most supported governors.

Yeah savagedzen and brazilianwax are both based on smartass and don't work either
Yea, unfortunately Smartass gov is not compatible with our hardware, there are no fixes for this. Faux tried to get this to work ad-nauseam a few months ago.
Just looking for feedback on both. Thanks

Personally I prefer Kt747 kernel. First of the big up with KT747 is the KTweaker app that comes with it that allows you to OC your phone to 2106 MHz and makes it easier to undervolt, plus, it has a lock frequencies option the lock down frequencies so apps can not change them. The other big up is the ktoonservative CPU governor that comes with it that really improves battery life. You can also backup your preference to your sdcard so if you try new voltage and it gets too unstable you can easily go back to your most stable settings.
That being said both are really good kernel the best way to find out is to flash them and try them, then you can choose which one you'll keep.
I hope that helps
Ktoon's kernel seems to be updated more often than faux. I haven't tried faux's kernel though.
I also use KToons kernel. The KTweaker app is awesome. I wouldn't use anything right now in my opinion.
Ktoonz is awesome but I use fauxes when I Play games

If you're into underclocking and tweaking with your governor, go ktoonsez. For the light user, I've found much better battery life on faux's kernel, as it performs quite well in deep sleep. Just my 2c.

KT747. Best battery life imo

This is very true. Faux might have just moved on tbh.. But with that said it could be final as is unless new firmware gets released then he will change.

Hello GN2 Users,
So I've recently been playing with my CPU settings and I've been messing with different governors.
My question to you all is which governor do you like to use and why?
I like On Demand because it seems to give me the same performance with better battery life. But this is purely observation. I haven't done any benchmarking to actually test it yet.
Please add your input!

i like lulzactive with zen, or powersave with noop

Sorry about that. Where would the proper place for this be?
What do you use to toggle different governors? I use ROM Toolbox Pro, and it doesn't have the ZEN or many of the other Android governors that I've read about. Is there a way to add new governors?

Govs are part of your kernel. ..not your control app.
Different roms will contain those kernel governors, or you could find a compatible kernel to go with your current rom....g

Just post in Q&A sections.
Yes, not sure if your kernel support it. I use the same app, ROM toolbox pro but you can also give NO FRILLS CPU a try too
CPU Adjuster
I haven't seen any posts about the stock kernel on inc 2.
I just recently rooted and s-off'd, and installed PAC rom which has LOTS of options and customizations including overclock. But I didn't flash a new kernel yet and was wondering if anyone has recommended cpu settings for the stock kernel, making sure it's stable. I've only been testing for a day but I've found 1.2ghz to be stable and I'm going to continue to increase it until it becomes unstable.
Usually 1.4 is nice, with vr or sio or bfq and smartassv2 is good

How's battery life with this?
i have evervolv kernel ,working with 1.7GHZ
my inc 2 work with 1.7Ghz no panic,no rebooting
Stable OC
I've had good success with 1400MHz Max. with SmartassV2. and 768MHz Min. I've used these settings with several different ROMs and various Kernels. They always seem to provide stablity, decent performance and only a minor hit to battery life.
