So I just restored a Nandroid backup from earlier today. I am using LiteRom 0.5. I did a backup so I could flash and test the Dev preview of CM10. The backup and restore were both successful, but when I boot up, I get these messages such as "unfortunately, Google Play has stopped". And it's not just Google Play, it's Talk, Messaging, Camera, Clock, etc. I also have no data, even with data on and a wifi connection. Can someone point me into the right direction?
Nevermind, I just ended up flashing a new ROM.

I did a full wipe when moving to CyanogenMod Nightly 6 and when I go to do a batch restore with Titanium Backup to get all my apps back, it goes through the process like it is working fine, but after it is done, no apps. I've reinstalled, updated busybox and all that jazz. Please help me if you can.
Im on Pro version btw.
in titamium backup go to preferences, app processing mode, chose the bottom option
Worked like a charm thanks

Hi there :3
I've been using (and loving) my GS2 for two month's now and not that I'm tired of Juggernaut ROM, I would just like to try out other ROMS and give them a test go.
Because wiping data is the best before using another ROM, I would like to know how other people do a recovery of their stuff? Such as history of Messaging / Call logs / Favorites / Numbers / Account Details and etc.
I'd be using Titanium Backup but I don't know if it recovers other than apps.
All tips would be helpful, please and thank you :3

Favorites, numbers and contacts are all synced with your Google account. Once you sign in, it auto restores all of that, assuming you have it synced. Call logs and SMS/mms can be restored using titanium backup. You restore the SMS dialer storage data only, not data+app. That should restore your SMS and MMS. There should be a similar named restore file for the call log. Another alternative I use in conjunction with that is an app on the market called SMS Backup+. It backs up all call logs and SMS/MMS to your Google account which can be restored as well - with the exception that MMS can't be restored. Hope that helps.

Also wanted to add that using titanium to restore those data requires aa reboot for them to show up.
Edit: you can only titanium restore call logs/SMS/mms between Twiz roms. Titanium restoring that data from Twiz to CM7 based will not work. SMS Backup+ will however.

If flashing the same base Android version or similar (i.e. 2.3.6), I just do a Nandroid backup prior to flashing the new ROM, and then doing an Advanced Restore data in CWR right after flashing. Clear cache and Dalvik and reboot. All your data is as you left it. Some people have reported issues with this but it's the first thing I try before messing around with Titanium.
Hey guys,
i really want to try out ICS but somehow Titanium Backup always freezws after a few apps while backing them up
What can I do now?
If it works for you, what version of Titanium Backup are you using?
Or is there another app that does the same (with market links)?
Thanks
Regards,
Flo

I use myphoneexplorer to make a backup of all my .apk files on my PC(also contacts, sms, notes, alarms)
I've had a recent upgrade of tb(4.9.0.2), but it didn't hugely improve the backup/restore ability on the recent ics releases. Works fine on the beta based roms, and cm9. Try app backup.
Does it always freeze into one specific app? Happens to me pretty often, you just have to exclude that app.
If that's not the case, try My Backup Pro. It is paid app.
titanium backup are so slow in ICS
and like to stuck in the middle
i'm back to GB.....
Used my MyBackup Root to back my stuff up.
But upgrading to ICS worked fine even without a wipe

Happened to me where I tried to freeze app and TB just froze.
Try reboot after installing TB.
Not entirely sure but could have something to do with busybox??? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but you can try update busybox if it doesn't work.
My Titanium Backup work normal on my ICS beta + office.
For me it only freezes sometime when restoring an app. Just force close it and try again.
I have titanium back up (not the premium version, i might get it soon though) and i just flashed a new rom onto my phone. I had CS' CM7.2 and i now have ParanoidAndroid 1.9.8, when i goto restore apps, i click restore app+data, and it will just sit on restoring app forever. is it because i'm on a different version of android now, or am i doing something wrong?
Try deleting titanium then restore the app. Then try restoring your apps.

I found this happens with some apps that are backed up in one version of android (i.e. GB) and restored on the other (ICS). Try to skip those apps and tibu should work fine.

You should only restore app+data going from the same ROM to an updated version of the same ROM. ICS AOSP to another ICS ASOP is fine, but can't go Sense to ASOP or the other. Also, I don't recommend going from GB to ICS. You can restore the app with no issues, but not data.

Click to collapse
Clear data for titanium & that should help. Happens from time to time. Also, what they ^^ said.
I have a few Question in titanium back up application.
How to make your first backup?
Subsequent backups
Backup Verification
Scheduled Backups
Hanging issues:
Menu
Preferences
Bottom of page in trouble shooting section (app proceeding)
Try indirect or interactive

I'm planning to do a complete wipe of my phone because of a few issues I'm having with it (random reboots, apps force closing, etc.). I was wondering if a fresh reinstalling via the Play Store would be better than restoring my apps via Titanium Backup or if it actually even made a difference at all? And if I did reinstall the apps through the Play Store I assume the only way I could get the settings, etc. is if I made a backup and just restored "app data" with TB or is this just the same data that I already have on the internal SDcard that doesn't get wiped after a factory reset?

I always do a restore using TB without any issue. But in your case with some apps FC. Is recommended a complete clean install from Play.
And the apps data is the one which get wiped when your make a factory reset.

I'm no expert, but I always just reinstall from the app store. I figure a clean install is probably less trouble. The only conceivable drawback that I can see is if you have apps that you have paid for, but I ASSUME that would be synchronized with your Google account. Every time I flash a new rom I sign in (after I set up my wifi and my apns) and go to the play store (takes a few minutes for market to change to play store) click menu >my apps and there they are , all current apps (that came with rom) and every Google app I've ever had. Just be sure that the rom you flash has gapps included or you will have to download and flash proper version of that as well.

I have used TB to do batch restore of all missing apps + data every time I have flashed a new ROM. It's always worked great for me. The paid version will auto restore, but in the free one you have to press accept for each app as they are restored.

I always restore through google play that restoring with tb kinda like starting fresh on new roms plus I can play all the games over again

Thanks for the tips guys. I think what I'll try first is to restore with TB and then any apps that force close repeatedly I'll just uninstall and re-download from the Play Store.
