Hi,
I installed the beats audio drivers installer * root or w.e. from the playstore. after running the app and "installing the drivers" my phone soft bricked and i reflashed stock rom. since then all my audio files with all audio players and all video files have a crackling sound on both speakers and headphones. this never occured before attempting to install these drivers. i think they may have altered my original drivers or installed halfway or something. Can anyone help me just get my original drivers back so the crackling will stop.
im using a galaxy s3 i747M from bell, unlocked and being used with rogers. rooted and running kyan rom.
I just installed that same app this morning on my AT&T SGS3 and everything went fine. Then again, I am running the 10-19-12 CM10 ROM with the KT747 kernel.
Hope you solve your problem!
I am also running KT747 kernel. im going to try doing it again, maybe it couldnt complete.
just install this unisnstaller to remove the drivers the devs sent this to me when i asked them the same question in an email

I have the same model (SGH-I747M) on an Alaskan LTE network. Made the mistake of installing Beats.. it didn't softbrick, but it did bork my bluetooth music completely. I have frozen via TiBU, uninstalled, and even did a factory reset... BT music streaming will not come back.. voice works fine though...
My system is stock+rooted - nothing else.. of course, expecting (since it was a market apk) I didn't bother making a NAND first... (Laugh and point now...:/)
Any hints on how to get my bluetooth music streaming back?
Have you tried just flashing back to stock with odin? I had a nandroid when this happened I flashed that and everything was just fine

As it turns out, I just flashed the latest Bacon, and it fixed everything + now running JB
I would still like to figure out a way to make a complete image of the factory "out of the box" Carrier ROM since it isn't available available with the others...
I'll keep digging... Lesson learned, just because something's in the market doesn't mean a nandroid isn't in order...

Running AOKP 4.2.1, I read all the reviews in the play store. Did a backup after a fresh install also. The install of beats audio went without any issues what so ever. I rock a pair of JVC ha-fx 40.... Sounds better to me now. Bass and treble are alot crisp now.

Every so often the sound on my phone will just not work. No clicks when pressing things, no music will work in the music player, no YouTube video will play, no ringtones, message tones... Nothing! It's annoying cause it's started doing it a lot. My phobe is rooted and has a custom bin count of 3, so I can't take it back to the shop I usually take it to to try and find some sort of fix.
Do any of you guys ever had this problem, and if so, how can you fix it? Restarting the phone sorts it out, but it srill end up doing it again eventually...

have u flashed any rom .. ???
Already got the lastest firmware, or so I think, for Britain - XXLA2. And I do have a custom ROM, but it used to do it before I rooted and started installing custom ROM's. I got the phone early January and it's always done it, just not often but it's done it 4 times already today!

please flash with odin once more. don't use the custom rom.
I don't think it will be my ROM though cause nobody else has ever mentioned it and I've always had the sound problem. I'm using ChobitsDigitalis v1.6

well...some of my friend said that they have these problem when they install a custom rom on their device. this problems comes when the custom rom and our device has different baseband series.
Use the stock firmwares from Dokys thread and reflash again..it must fix the issue..
If youre using titanium backup to freeze bloatwares, dont freeze DRM content as some have reported their ringtones and notification tones messed up..
HELLO EVERYONE
I'm having issue regarding the music chopping/skipping while listening from the headphones.
please help!!
Are you on .126 Rom? Because on there it was caused by some beats profiles, I would try disabling beats for a while and see.

I was also had this issue when I was on the 1.26 rom playing local stored music via the inbuilt player, but it was more a a small pause. As I was in a location where the data to the phone kept changing, EG 3G, E, H, I was able to determine the pause occurred when the phone changed it's data transfer type. I am no longer in that enviroment so I can not test the newer roms.
I M on 1.28 sense version, if you meant this ..sorry I'm new to all these terms Rom n all.
Kind of same here
Hi,
Not sure if it is the same problem, but I also have issues with the music chopping and clicking.
I noticed it is happening everytime the data connection changes indeed (loss of 3G in the sub, siwtch to wifi, etc...)
I asked HTC support about it but still no answer.
Will try tomorrow with Beats off.
I am using a european version (tegra) and the latest factory rom (1.29.401.11).
Can't wait for the, to release a correction, it is really annoying.
I'm suffering with a similar issue. Latest software.
Same issue here
I'm having the same problem, on version 1.29.161.13
Has only recently started doing it, where audio will skip/click with Beats Profile on OR with the HTC Sound Enhancer on. Switching these off resolves the issue. This happens when using stock music player or watching video. Switching to airplane mode makes no difference.
The fact it has only recently started doing it leads me to think it must be fixable... any ideas?!
Are you listening to your music over Bluetooth headphones/earphones?
i take it a reboot doesn't fix it?
Music skips/chopping on HTC ONE X
i am also having a same problem it also do the same thing in video playing also while streaming youtube video or play any HD video :crying: plzz help i came from galaxy s2 and hating this.....
When you stream from YouTube press pause wait about 10 secs, then play, the cracks and pops should be reduced. To eliminate them allow the vid to completely load before playing. I think is a flash problem, bound to be fixed in the next update.

A reboot does seem to help the issue at least for a little while, but it soon comes back.

I've been listening over the stock headphones, tried it this evening with my Pioneers and same issue.
Sometimes when I go to sound enhancer in the video player settings the list comes up blank with no options, and I wonder if that's related to the issue. It seems like the software doesn't realise that the Beats profile is on, so it keeps trying to turn it on again, which causes the clicks and skipping.
I tried turning it on and off through the notification bar, and then through the music player (which has more options than the video player) and then returning to the video player which seemed to resolve it until I exited and went back in later...

The issue happens no matter the source, so it's not Flash.

this is 99% not hardware. i'm so tempted to say 100% but then if it is hardware i'd be wrong
this is software. have you tried using an alternative app to play the music? such as poweramp?

I think it's software, but not the app itself. It's the same with Spotify, so i'd be included to think it's a driver of some sort, or something Sense is doing.
Anyone tried a custom ROM? I'm using MaXimus but haven't re-tested the audio since flashing. That's still got Sense, though, so probably not the best example.
Definitely driver. This problem crept up on ne After I flashed viper x. So everything I go into underground parking, my music starts to get choppy

Mine has had the same issue for a while. I've tried doing what you outlined above but with no luck
Though I didn't use ARHD 6.1.1, do you think that will make any difference?
I am running darkside v8 with darkside kernel #5. I have beats audio mod installed and awesome beats mod installed. I can call somebody and the call goes through. For what ever reason when somebody calls me i can't hear or say anything. Wi fi calling is off. I have cleared caches, i superwiped before i installed the rom and i need help. Attached are a few of the logcats i have created. The latest one is 2012-07-15-15-31-05. The others were created when i was on v7 darkside. The radio is clearly not the issue either, i have tried the lc8, le1, and the blaze 4g radio. All have the same problem. I have also tried changing the dialer but that doesn't help either. Although on v7 the phone.apk would crash and my calls wouldn't go through. That is fixed in v8. Also even without the beats mods i still have the issue

Do a fresh and clean install and don't use the beats mod and see if that is the issue. Also use one of the radios TDJ has in his OP. I'm running this ROM and its flawless with zero issues. Usually issues happen when you start tinkering with things and adding things.

Gotta use beats 5.1 works fine for me
Sent From A Cellular Device Of Some Sort.
can also report Beats Audio ruined my phone .after install speakerphone stopped functioning and could no longer receive or make calls!! had to re-flash My phone!
My external speaker stopped working, and I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. The phone doesn't ring, and if I try and play anything through the external speakers no sound comes out. My headphone jack is working, and I'm able to make/hear calls.
I'm running CM 10.1.3, and I've been running this rom without any problems for a while. In trying to fix/troubleshot this issue I ran across the Galaxy S3 hardware test via the phone/dialer *#0*#, but this doesn't work in CM. Is there any way to check hardware in CM? Or does anyone know how to fix this if it is indeed a software problem?
I've checked all my volume settings and tried the following:
Rebooting
Re-installing CM, multiple versions
Pulling the Battery
Sounds like some kind of hardware failure. Flash back to stock after you do a nandroid to make sure.

It seemed like a hardware issue to me too, then I did a factory reset and flashed a stock 4.3 ROM and the sound magically started working again!
Did you have the "Silent" profile on when on Cyanogenmod?

What type of problems are you having. There's a general low audio volume on the 4.4 roms but other than that there's no issues with audio for me. I'm running omnirom 4.4.2
Explanation
It's strange. Once I have it installed, I have sound without headphones. However if i plug in the headphones, I do not get any sound. It sort of goes out after a certain point and doesn't come back unless I take out headphones again and play sound THEN plug in headphones.
Just tried viper4android and it keeps asking me to verify if its rooted -.-.
I get random sounds like the pop sound when I hit a group folder, but only get sound otherwise on apps if i take headphone out, press play or whatever, then plug headphone in

I had the same problem for the longest time. If you move from anything pre 4.4 to 4.4 you get that effect. I have solved the problem by doing a full factory reset, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, and the secret is wiping internal storage as well but I also wipe system but I'm fairly certain it has to do with internal storage but I wipe all of those to be sure and it fixes the problem. Hope this helps! I use twrp so I can't confirm it works with cwm or philz
Thank you so much dadudeguy44. It's worth a try, will have to figure it out since I'm still relatively new to rooting

I'm not sure what the problem is. I was on a ROM, updated to the next version of that ROM and the problem came back. I wiped everything but systen and reflashed and problem came back then wiped everything including system and reflashed and problem solved so it has to do with system. Side note wiping system on my cwm will wipe EVERYTHING including your external sd and all the data on your phone. I learned the hard way but I think I was on an older version of cwm. I have used twrp ever since. Let me know how it works out for ya
I thought id take your advice and try twrm but when I tried to install through goomanager I still end up booting into cwm. Any idea why that might be hapoening ?
