HELLO EVERYONE
I'm having issue regarding the music chopping/skipping while listening from the headphones.
please help!!
Are you on .126 Rom? Because on there it was caused by some beats profiles, I would try disabling beats for a while and see.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I was also had this issue when I was on the 1.26 rom playing local stored music via the inbuilt player, but it was more a a small pause. As I was in a location where the data to the phone kept changing, EG 3G, E, H, I was able to determine the pause occurred when the phone changed it's data transfer type. I am no longer in that enviroment so I can not test the newer roms.
I M on 1.28 sense version, if you meant this ..sorry I'm new to all these terms Rom n all.
Kind of same here
Hi,
Not sure if it is the same problem, but I also have issues with the music chopping and clicking.
I noticed it is happening everytime the data connection changes indeed (loss of 3G in the sub, siwtch to wifi, etc...)
I asked HTC support about it but still no answer.
Will try tomorrow with Beats off.
I am using a european version (tegra) and the latest factory rom (1.29.401.11).
Can't wait for the, to release a correction, it is really annoying.
I'm suffering with a similar issue. Latest software.
Same issue here
I'm having the same problem, on version 1.29.161.13
Has only recently started doing it, where audio will skip/click with Beats Profile on OR with the HTC Sound Enhancer on. Switching these off resolves the issue. This happens when using stock music player or watching video. Switching to airplane mode makes no difference.
The fact it has only recently started doing it leads me to think it must be fixable... any ideas?!
Are you listening to your music over Bluetooth headphones/earphones?
i take it a reboot doesn't fix it?
Music skips/chopping on HTC ONE X
i am also having a same problem it also do the same thing in video playing also while streaming youtube video or play any HD video :crying: plzz help i came from galaxy s2 and hating this.....
When you stream from YouTube press pause wait about 10 secs, then play, the cracks and pops should be reduced. To eliminate them allow the vid to completely load before playing. I think is a flash problem, bound to be fixed in the next update.

A reboot does seem to help the issue at least for a little while, but it soon comes back.

I've been listening over the stock headphones, tried it this evening with my Pioneers and same issue.
Sometimes when I go to sound enhancer in the video player settings the list comes up blank with no options, and I wonder if that's related to the issue. It seems like the software doesn't realise that the Beats profile is on, so it keeps trying to turn it on again, which causes the clicks and skipping.
I tried turning it on and off through the notification bar, and then through the music player (which has more options than the video player) and then returning to the video player which seemed to resolve it until I exited and went back in later...

The issue happens no matter the source, so it's not Flash.
no matter what u do i format my sd card reset and wipe my phone put it in air plane mode for some time it is fixed but after some time it comes back i think i should sell the phone....... its a permanent problem it cant be fixed it is from hardware i think......
And ya i am on latest build its 2.05 something and the problem is still there....

this is 99% not hardware. i'm so tempted to say 100% but then if it is hardware i'd be wrong
this is software. have you tried using an alternative app to play the music? such as poweramp?

I think it's software, but not the app itself. It's the same with Spotify, so i'd be included to think it's a driver of some sort, or something Sense is doing.
Anyone tried a custom ROM? I'm using MaXimus but haven't re-tested the audio since flashing. That's still got Sense, though, so probably not the best example.
Definitely driver. This problem crept up on ne After I flashed viper x. So everything I go into underground parking, my music starts to get choppy

Mine has had the same issue for a while. I've tried doing what you outlined above but with no luck
Though I didn't use ARHD 6.1.1, do you think that will make any difference?

My 1x is stock.
When i started video recording the phone just froze
Have u tried a factory reset.?
Otherwise when on stock i would return it....
Lagging and video recording not following may be ICS problem, but if it freeze, I don't think you can do anything about it. If custom ROm that would be the problem, but not on stock.
So try what the guy above me said, reset, if not working then return it to the store.

Do u have a secondary camera app installed?
Deleted it first
This is not a normal thing to happen on stock
I hope factory reset does the trick cause sending it in is never fun
not happened to me and ive used the vid a lot
stock here
Hi,
I had a similar problem (stock ROM + 1.28 patch from HTC fixing battery issue): trying to record any video made the camera app to stop after generating a 792K .mp4 movie file that couldn't be read (recording stopped immediately after being started).
At the same time the battery monitoring app was reporting that the 'multimedia server' was eating most of the energy of the battery while no particular 'multimedia' app was running (see code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6765 (as a noob here I can't write URL yet..)).
I deleted all .mp3/.jpg/.mp4 file on the flash memory (using a USB cable with a PC) but nothing changed. Then after deleting these files I rebooted the One X using the 'restart' feature of the on/off button.
Bingo: video recording now works, and the battery monitoring app does not report any more consumption about the 'multimedia server'. Obviously there is some link between failure to record video, a broken .mp4/.mp3/.jpg file and the mysterious 'multimedia server' service/app.
I should have tried to delete files one by one to figure exactly what file was troubling the multimedia server but I didn't since I had nearly no pictures worth something on the phone (bought it a few days ago).
All the .mp3 files were the stock files provided with the One X, the only .mp4 files were coming from failed attempts at using the video recording feature, I had 3x.jpg taken with the phone itself, plus a .jpg coming from an attachment from a email sent by wife's iPhone.
Im on cm7 ..after I factory reset everything is fine till I reboot ..once I reboot and try making or receive a call the loudspeaker is enabled automatically ...how to deactivate this?
I've tried formatting almost everything possible and I've even reflashed cm7many times...currently I'm on day latest cm7
Try a stock ROM and see if you have the same issue.
If you do, it must be a hardware issue. This happens if the micro usb port is unclean and it thinks it is connected to a dock. I had this problem once on sense. Cleaned the port and it started working again.
Remember that you can damage the port easily so be careful. Look up some guides on how to do it.
Take this as a DISCLAIMER.

Guys this is not a prblm its a feature of HTC phones wen ever u pick the call it enables loud speaker right its bcoz of sensor u activated.this happen with me too. go to settings>sound>incoming calls untick this options
1.quiet ring on pickup
2.pocket mode
3.flip for speakers
But this things all working oly stock not in Cm7.anyway u check for this in Cm7
See the screen shot
Hope I helped
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using Tapatalk 2
That is not entirely correct.
What the HTC features do are:
1. Quiet ring on pickup - Silences the ringing as soon as the phone is picked up
2. Pocket Mode - Louder ringtone while in a bag/pocket (When the ambient light sensors is not picking up much light)
3. Flip For Speaker - Turns on speaker phone when the phone is upside down on a flat surface.
None of these will switch on the speaker on start except the car mode.
Flip for speaker does it..Tht option make the loud speaker on wen every time u receives a call

If it does, you may have the same problem as the OP. Could you please try disabling that option and trying it once?

Who knew! You're using the stock ROM or a custom sense ROM? In my case, it wasn't that. I remember having tried everything else!!
But that flip for speaker is probably the biggest thing I miss on non-sense ROMs. I found a similar app which switches on the speaker when away from your ear after a time period but that's not as effective and cause havoc sometimes.
I'm using a custom sense ROM

i tried different rom and tried cleaning but still no use
take your USB cable and stab your USB port many times. Some dust may have collected there so the phone thinks it is connected to a car dock and goes into car mode

Install es file explorer from play, once installed enable the root persmissions inside settings of es exlplorer.
Once you have access to root - go to system - then look for 'laputa' delete them there are about 3 or so of these laputa files.
And done. :good:
Hmm
try flashing an earlier version, if that doesnt work i have no idea. good luck :fingers-crossed:
I have same problem but I clean my usb port now tis problem solved

I had the same issue, try to go into apps, media storage and clear the data, it should rescan it. Think during the JB update, the media storage got corrupted.

same problem
I am having the same problem on a Nexus S. I have flashed tons of different ROMS before and this was never a problem. Weird that it comes up in a NEW version of Android. But I guess that's what offical updates are for...
Rename the folder containing your media. Use the scan app from before. I've always done that to fix this random issue

I have this issue since installing Jelly Bean too.
If you check processes using Watchdog or something similar you will see Android Media process hogging a lot of CPU...this will go on for over an hour for me sucking up my battery.
I've been trying to pin down if there is corrupt file. I've shut off Picasa & G+ syncing. I have cleared data for both Gallery & Media Storage.
Happens to me after every reboot.
Still searching for a solution to this.
happen to me as well n seeking for solution.
when i tried to look at apps\running, setting got force closed all the time...
rescan media not work for me too
If I have some time tomorrow, I will try doing a fastboot erase userdata or wiping the whole phone and then reinstalling JB from scratch.
My 1st JB install was the preview version BTW.

Hi Rich,
Wondering if you managed to pinpoint why your media process was doing that. I also have the same behavior with Jelly Bean, with my media process hogging my battery after I reset the phone, for like over an hour or so, and the phone getting pretty hot - and battery drained.
I wouldn't be very keen to wipe my phone, though...
I havent been able to pinpoint it yet.
I will probably have to resort to a factory reset unless someone has other suggestions to try.

After a backup, I did a Bootloader Lock and then Unlock to clear all my user data.
Rebooted into recovery and did a Factory Reset.
Copied all my pics back and its been fine, no crazy Media Scanner CPU hogging when I reboot.
The Factory Reset might not have been necessary but I was have some rom issues and had dirty flashed many times. My roms issues also cleared up( couldn't get Theme Chooser to run on CM10)
Ever since I changed from my stock ROM, some songs have been causing my music player to crash when they go on shuffle..
I'm pretty sure it's not a ROM problem since I've switched 3 by now and it's pretty consistent
I use Apollo music player for a long time now, and never had it before, also I tested Google Music as well and it happens on it too so I don't think it's caused by the music player ...
Any Suggestions? ><"
I have the exact same problem. Same error with sense and cm10 rom but with sense, after a while would cause my phone to crash when i get an incoming call. I also deleted my tracks and put them up again after doing an mp3diag and mp3checker and still have the problem. Any help would be appreciated!

Android 4.4 Roms on my Galaxy Note II have been causing headphone audio problems. Otherwise audio works fine, as with any other non 4.4 rom. Has this been happening to anyone else, and if so, does anyone have a solution? =/ Been looking forward to 4.4 for monthes, this is just so disappointing.

What type of problems are you having. There's a general low audio volume on the 4.4 roms but other than that there's no issues with audio for me. I'm running omnirom 4.4.2
Explanation
It's strange. Once I have it installed, I have sound without headphones. However if i plug in the headphones, I do not get any sound. It sort of goes out after a certain point and doesn't come back unless I take out headphones again and play sound THEN plug in headphones.
Just tried viper4android and it keeps asking me to verify if its rooted -.-.
I get random sounds like the pop sound when I hit a group folder, but only get sound otherwise on apps if i take headphone out, press play or whatever, then plug headphone in

I had the same problem for the longest time. If you move from anything pre 4.4 to 4.4 you get that effect. I have solved the problem by doing a full factory reset, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, and the secret is wiping internal storage as well but I also wipe system but I'm fairly certain it has to do with internal storage but I wipe all of those to be sure and it fixes the problem. Hope this helps! I use twrp so I can't confirm it works with cwm or philz

I'm not sure what the problem is. I was on a ROM, updated to the next version of that ROM and the problem came back. I wiped everything but systen and reflashed and problem came back then wiped everything including system and reflashed and problem solved so it has to do with system. Side note wiping system on my cwm will wipe EVERYTHING including your external sd and all the data on your phone. I learned the hard way but I think I was on an older version of cwm. I have used twrp ever since. Let me know how it works out for ya
I thought id take your advice and try twrm but when I tried to install through goomanager I still end up booting into cwm. Any idea why that might be hapoening ?
