I installed a version of Aristodemos (slim) on my phone and nothing happens literally. It does not boot into recovery mode. I'm still searching for the ZIP file that I downloaded. Please help!
Does it power up or can you get it into download mode?
ok. I had aristodemos version 3 on it and put this zip on my phone after the wipe process........slim-i717-2.7.0-official.zip. 87,995,996 bytes. now it doesnt turn on or how you say power up. any thoughts?? if I could get it to turn on I could zip my other rom back on. Thanks for any and all help!!

Have you tried a factory and data reset to factory settings from the recovery? Usually fixes the problem. Always do that before and maybe after a custom rom zip installation.
He said it wont boot into recovery, but he didn't answer whether or not he can get into download mode. Thats his only hope if recovery isn't booting.
I cant get it on turn on period. if I try t boot into recovery, it does nothing. very stange!!
oh yea..... nor does it go ino download mode for some reason. sorry about that. what happened??

This may not be it but are you sure the phone is charged and has enough battery life? I'm wondering what battery % you were at when you started the process?
Maybe try removing the battery for 10 seconds and trying to boot into recovery again?
phone was fully charged.

According to what you wrote you installed a ROM for 717 not 747 that could be your problem

From download mode, if that works which it should, use Odin to reflash stock ROM then install CM10 over it after reflashing CWM.

If you're able to boot into cwm, then you're fine.
I'm assuming you were flashing a ROM, so just wipe everything x3, and reflash the ROM or a different one.

Now that doesn't make sense. You can safely get into CWM, but not into download mode?
I have to ask to make sure. With the phone off, you're holding the 1 key on the keyboard and then holding the power button?
Well if that's the case, get to a PC and insert your SD card into a reader. Download a kernel, like Genocide v2 or etc to the card, and boot into CWM to flash the new kernel off the card. See if that helps.
yes i hold down 1 and the power button, and i tried the genocide2.0 and it still does the same just the samsung screen has a different logo

If your phone has life you should be able to get into download mode. Take your battery out, press the power button for 10 seconds. With the battery still out connect with cable to computer and press and hold the 1 key on the keyboard and then add pressing and holding the power button. Download mode will appear. Now you have to get the original unrooted factory rom .tar file and restore your phone back to factory. Your phone is just soft bricked so you are very lucky. Use google or the xda search feature and look up something along the lines of "SGH-T989 .tar file" or "T-Mobile Galaxy S II tar". The exact file you need is floating around here somewhere.

Honestly I haven't done this yet with the GS2, but I've done it a million times with a Vibrant I once owned. I'm gonna look it up right now and see what I find. This should be a pretty easy process. The best part is that at least your phone isn't completely bricked.

First do a battery pull, then put the battery back into the phone, hold both the up and down volume rocker and press the power button till the phone vibrates (letting you know its been turned on), soon as the phone vibrate then release the power button but do not let go of the volume rocker until you see the recovery image! Once you see the recovery image you are easily back in business. Let me know if you can at least get into recovery.

What ROM did you guys install? Few questions. Did you guys install Samsung drivers. If not install through kies or from the development section here and reboot computer. Then put in download mode and wait for comp. to recognize phone again. try entering recovery and flash a basic stock ROM from dev section. See if that works.

Now I need odin flashable stock (preferably) ROM. I tried to find it here and no luck.

POWER OFF PHONE....... Once it’s turned off, press volume up + power button + home button simultaneously and keep them pressed until you see the recovery mode...
Now clear cache, and dalvik cache....then do a factory reset within this menu. Once done reboot....This helps when bootloops occur...try this before using odin..its worked for me and many others...

Buddy, I know what bootloop is and how to get rid of it I tried this yesterday night couple of times - it doesn't work.
Now, I cannot mount internal sdcard as USB device. in advanced I'm choosing this option, but nothing happens. I do not have (yet) external microsdxc card (ordered a day before).
So, the only way for me to fix that is to find odin flashable ROM. Have some1 saw it somewhere?

The thing is - I CAN get to CWM, but due to lack of space (well, to be completely honest with ya - my stupidy) I deleted good CWM flashable ROM (Jedi 3.2) which was working for me to give a space for the new one (Jedi 3.3). I broke my personal rule #1 - all the times have a chance to reflash back thus to have a copy of good working ROM on sdcard. Now I'm stuck:
- in CWM I can flash smth, but there's no good ROM on sdcard
- I tried to to hook up the phone as USB storage. It was working for me on my previous Captivate w/o any hiccups and I was thinkng it will do the job on Note2. As I can see - not really: I'm selecting "USB Storage", but nothing happends. I tried linux and windows PCs, different cables and ports (front and back ones), I installed Samsung drivers on windows machines - nothing. That mean I cannot put anything on sdcard.
- the most funny thing - an hour before that I bought Sandisk 64GB microsdxc card on ebay to be able to keep ROMs on my phone. But for now I don't have one to put firmware on it to be able to flash it.
- I checked download mode - I can get there as well. Looks the only way for me to alive my phone.
Again, thanks a lot, guys, really appreciate your help I'll download this tonight and will flash. I'll keep you posted with results.
BTW, I think it's a good idea for some1 like me stuck in bootloop to be able to get these ROMs from "[REF] Your one-stop shop for the Note II (Kernels, Roms, Guides, Modems, Etc.)" topic. I think I have to PM moderators to ask them to do so.

Thanks again Flashed that stock and now I'm on custom ROM.
Was using the Galaxy S3 toolkit to update cwm, went to flash an AOSP rom intended for d2att models, went to reboot the device... It flashes the samsung logo briefly then sits at a black screen with a solid amber LED. ODIN does not see it, my PC sees the device but I can't flash anything at all. Can't get to download mode either holding the power and any combination of the volume keys does nothing. Someone please help point me in the right direction to fix this. Thanks in advance.
If or PC sees it u could check and see if ADB sees it and maybe wipe and flash from there

I have been trying to root my GS4 since Friday. It will not work. I have the Tmobile version M919.
I did the motochopper one on my Main Win7 computer it fails.
Did it it on the netbook win 7 failed.
Did it on the mac and it failed.
So, I decided to do the oden thing. Well I get to where it says passed. But when I try to boot into recovery it is the android recovery and not CWM. What the heck is going on. Ben at this for 3 days and it is driving me crazy. A friend of mine just got the ATT one. I sent him the info to root it on the mac he did it within 10 min. Mine won't do it. I am wondering if Tmobile has something to do with this. I got an update from them a few days ago.
Anyone have info to fix this problem or is it just me? The only other possible thing that I can think of is this. I have a GS2 and it is rooted. I signed in with my google info on the GS4 which brought some of my rooted apps and some of my superuser, rootchecker and stuff lilke that. Would that stop it from rooting? Sorry for the misspelling.

I don't get it. Should I do a factory reset on the phone or something just to pull my root checking app, super user stuff off there. Also I did run the zip file a few times earlier today. It did something weird. After the phone rebooted it just kept playing this music over and over. Sounded like upbeat church music I would hear on a Sunday morning.

The phone is off. I push down volume up, home button down and then hit the power button. It comes up galaxy s4 and then I let off the power button and about that time the android recovery comes up. Happens every single time. I have rooted every single phone that I have had. I used to work at a cell phone shop here in Dallas. I am going to make some calls tomorrow and see if I can find someone else to root it and see if they have the same problems. But this should be a no brainer I would think. I just can't figure out why it is not working.
Since nothing is working I just did this.
I reset the phone. Created a new gmail and drop box account. Ran odin on it. Restarted it and same thing again. Just boots into Android Recovery.
