Random Vibertes on CM10 - HTC One X

My phone sometimes gives me a short viberats for no reason.
There's no new mail, and no app running that can make those.
What could they be?

yeah, i know that for many persons out there a full wipe is kinda time-waisting, but in some cases it is necessary...

There must be a way to find out which app is doing this.

you can check which apps are running when this happens and then unistall them one by one and see if that solves the problem

Turn off ADB Debugging, or if you have root go to system/bin/ and delete bugreport or bugmailer file.
That vibrations (1 at start and 2 fast after 20 sec) are generating Bug Report on ICS and JB, it is normal. Also delete folder bugreports on SD card, reports are stored there.

Must be an incompatibility with an app you installed. Check the apps you have installed.
Worse case scenario just factory reset the phone.

when did you start noticing it? what app was the last you installed before it started happening? delete the app and see if the problem is still there. just do a process of elimination. worst case, just back up your stuff and do a factory reset.
Im gonna say yeah, just do a factory reset.
Have you tried rebooting it? Sometimes that will help eliminate little bugs you may be experiencing.

Weird Vibrate and Pop-up issue

Hi Guys,
about 10 times a day or so, I hear my phone vibrate (phone is on vibrate at work).
When I unlock the screen, I have a "complete action using pop-up" with dropbox, gmail and skype as the options.
Another user did some investigation by clicking on gmail to see what exactly it's sending and it looks to be an error report to google.
Anyone else experienced this?
i've experienced this too, dont know the cause though
BUMP.
Anyone else getting this at all?
Running AOKP Build 26 4.0.3 and Franco Kernel.
Cheers
Yeah its data logging. Caused by holding both volume and power I think it is. You can turn it off in aokp in general UI settings
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I got it too..I'm pretty sure it is not generated by holding both volume keys and power.
It appears random. What is that? It's a sort of issue log.
Any way to desactivate it?
I have the same issue running 4.0.4. I believe a program keeps automatically taken screen shots of my GN
This is happening to me... any solution?
Another victim.
Another one here.
I'm on Stock 4.0.4 and Franco's Kernel.
If I stop to think, I guess this started to happen since I started using MoDaCo leaked 4.0.4 that comes with Franco's Kernel.
So I guess it might be Kernel or 4.0.4 fault.
The bad thing is that the supposed error log have nothing interesting.
definitely 4.0.4... I'm running stock.
it happens if u press the volume button in between Up and Down (in the middle) and power at the same time for a second or so
try and u will see the report appearing after a minute or so
solution: when u want to unlock ur phone, just press the power button
Its ICS's bug mailer and is, to be honest, flawed. Its trying to send a bug report to Google. Use root explorer, mount as r/w and rename bugmailer.sh to bugmailer.sh.old, save and reboot. Should stop it hapenning anymore. Its more of an annoyance then anything useful IMO. I used to get 5-6 a day but never saw or come across any crashes or problems. Rename and enjoy the phone

Granted, you don't have to send it to Google, but my point stands. It flares up, on occasions, all too often. If anyone has no desire to read it, disable it. It serves no purpose unless you actively wish to send it to anyone for any reason.

Playing a random sound file

Hi, this is hard to describe with out the sound file, but basically my phone when turning on plays a sound at random, it lasts for about 1sec and has 4 syllables if you get my meaning a bit like 1 ...2-3-4 or Do De-dah-Do (this isn't a silly post I promise XD)
At first I thought it was a few programs I installed, someone told me it could the the THD pinball game, un-installed that but it is still there.
Has anyone else encountered a "similar" issue? It interrupts some programs or games and is very annoying and its beinging to drive me insane; at one point I thought it was malware or a virus so I McAfee scanned it in case (maybe there are other better alts but please suggest).
Oh, I will also add when this happens when looking at desktop the top menu bar sometimes goes green.
Any ideas? Please save my sanity.
kind regards
EDIT: Posting here too as not sure if Q & A or General
Hello, don't know if it will help but green flashing bar looks like a phone call notification ...

I remembered to hear some strange sound and i recognized your Do De-dah-Do
but can't remember how i solved the problem ... or even if it solved itself ... sorry.
Instead of "random" you wanted to say "sporadic". Sound is still the same "tone" ?

Hi, yes I would probably say more sporadic than anything else and yes this sound is always the same, I never notice this in call though so I have no idea which app is trying to notify me; its notifying me to uninstall it when I find out what it is!

When I unlock the device, so its already on and then the sound at "some" point will start maybe 2-3 times then stop. Its so random I cant even pin point it. When in opera, desktop and other apps this sound will appear and cause mayhem.

Yeah, it's strange. I know it'll take awhile but it might be a good idea to look at any/all recently installed Apps and look at their Permissions. See if any of them say anything about making alerts, then force close them if they do and see if the issue persists.

Does it by any chance happen when your phone is sitting over your wallet?
I was getting the same sound randomly and drove me nuts. Then realized that it's the NFC kicking in when the phone is near my "blink" chipped credit card.
i'm sure i read a post exactly like this and it turned out it was nfc, make sure it's turned off and see if it continues.
Nfc or perhaps the roaming sound is on?

Sorry for late reply and thank you so much for your input.
Yes people, it is the NFC! The phone resides in a wallet and my works id card on the other side. When I read the phone I fold the cover over and hence this sound. Do I feel stupid? Yes 100% I only hope that maybe some people can learn from my inherent stupidity and thus the madness that was slowly but surely setting in.

Possible Bugs

1) No matter what I click the device requires a pattern unlock every reboot. There's an option for this but turning it off or on does nothing. It always requires PW/PIN/PAttern after reboot.
2) Possible related to the first, alarm clock does not start the phone if it's turned off.
First one is not a bug. That's how it works. Same for iOS.

So then why did they explicitly give you the option to turn it off even though it does nothing? Also why did they offer a clock option that cannot start the phone under those conditions? It makes no sense that this is the way the phone is supposed to be.

I think you're confusing with the option of requiring a PIN to START the device after every reboot.

I see what you're saying. So then it's just the clock that is bugged that won't start the device. The other is as intended.

Display randomly turns on

SOLVED. See my last post.
No notification or anything. It turned on with Benzo rom and now I am on fresh stock with a custom kernel and it still turns on. How do I monitor the device to determine what might be causing it to turn on? It started with March update. I didn't have this issue on the January update.
Is there an app I can install to see what turns the display on or is this something I must do on a pc?

I'm using Holy dragon Kernel.
I put the device in Safe Mode for most of the day and never saw the display turn on like before. So it must be an app. How would I go about narrowing down which app is causing the problem?

To grab logs you can use either just make sure if you use an app you grant it root permissions
Here are two screenshots I took after the screen turned on with no notifications present. I have no clue what to look for. Hopefully this helps. Is the whole log needed? I turn Matlog on and then turn the screen off until the "error" happens. Then I turn screen on and do the screenshot.

The best way to try it without losing anything imo.
Just "fastboot flash-all.bat" after you open the .bat and editing out the "-w".
