My phone sometimes gives me a short viberats for no reason.
There's no new mail, and no app running that can make those.
What could they be?

you can check which apps are running when this happens and then unistall them one by one and see if that solves the problem
Turn off ADB Debugging, or if you have root go to system/bin/ and delete bugreport or bugmailer file.
That vibrations (1 at start and 2 fast after 20 sec) are generating Bug Report on ICS and JB, it is normal. Also delete folder bugreports on SD card, reports are stored there.

Hi, I have something puzzling me and I think the community will be able to help me. I've been on CyanogenMod for the longest time before buying my N5X and one of the features I miss the most is the profiles settings.
My problem is I want to disable my lockscreen automatically when connected to my car Bluetooth. To be clear, I want it gone completely, not just the security, as in when I press the power button I go straight to Play Music. I have Trigger installed but can't seem to find a way to do this. I'm also willing to buy Tasker if I'm sure it will allow me to do it.
I'm rooted and running Cataclysm ROM if it helps.
Delete your car Bluetooth and re-connect it. It should prompt you to set up a Trusted Devoice. This will disable the lockscreen while connected to this device.

Thank you for trying to help me, but I think you didn't read my post completely. I know about trusted devices, I use it. I want my lockscreen completely gone, so I don't have to swipe up to get inside Play Music.
I use fingerprint scanner and it goes straight to home screen.

Now I'm starting to think you're just trolling. First suggestion is far from automatic, second one is not an option, the phone is in a car mount.
Again, I'm looking for a software way to do it.

Then leave screen on for the maximum time, so you won't have to deal with lock screens, until there is an app that would do it for you.

Not trolling, it would do exactly what you asked, lock screen completely gone not having to swipe up. You never mentioned it was in a mount, are you charging it at all in this mount? If so, use the keep awake option in developer settings.

Maybe you're not trolling, but you're ignoring parts of my posts to find a half-assed way to make it work. I guess you missed the "automatically" part.
And no, not charging. I don't stare at my phone for 8 hours a day so I don't need to charge while driving. And please, if you're not gonna help don't post.

SOLVED. See my last post.
No notification or anything. It turned on with Benzo rom and now I am on fresh stock with a custom kernel and it still turns on. How do I monitor the device to determine what might be causing it to turn on? It started with March update. I didn't have this issue on the January update.
Is there an app I can install to see what turns the display on or is this something I must do on a pc?

I'm using Holy dragon Kernel.
I put the device in Safe Mode for most of the day and never saw the display turn on like before. So it must be an app. How would I go about narrowing down which app is causing the problem?

To grab logs you can use either just make sure if you use an app you grant it root permissions
Here are two screenshots I took after the screen turned on with no notifications present. I have no clue what to look for. Hopefully this helps. Is the whole log needed? I turn Matlog on and then turn the screen off until the "error" happens. Then I turn screen on and do the screenshot.

I uninstalled a bunch of apps that I don't use on a daily basis. I removed all of the above plus Verizon message, Allo, Duo, Tapatalk, Forest river forums, NFL mobile, NFL network, ESPN, and maybe a few others Display still randomly turns on.
This is so annoying that I can't figure out what keeps turning the display on.

Honestly not sure. I just use the settings that come with the kernel.
We'll that could potentially be the problem. Try it with the stock kernel for testing?

The best way to try it without losing anything imo.
Just "fastboot flash-all.bat" after you open the .bat and editing out the "-w".

Mate 20X (EVR-AL00; Build no. 9.0.0.136). I left my phone at home while downloading the new games via our Wi-Fi. But when I got back, I noticed that it has not downloaded any more data since I left it.
The culprit? The option Stay connected when device sleeps under the battery settings is DISABLED (neither ON nor OFF). Anyone else has this experience? What can be done about it?

@the_passerby5981 I figured it out, and boy your going to hate sending yours back, I was right, it is tied to something. I kept thkinking and kept coming back to this thread knowing you and I were missing something, and I found it from your screenshot and others, then tested it on mine and bingo. The reason its disabled is because it is tied to the SIM card. So that setting is tied to a sim card, and it didnt work on yours or mine because we were both testing it out without a SIM, and as soon as I put mine in to see if I was right, it enabled to turn on or off.

BUG FOUND! (Problem solved).
Android 8 had the option under WLAN and option to disable staying connected to WLAN and MOBILE as separate.
In Android 9, they are baked together under Battery. Thus, Stay awake when device sleeps gets DISABLED WHEN NO SIM IS INSERTED.

That's really strange have you ever restarted the phone since the new update. If that doesn't work you can try to reset all settings and see if that works there's no reason why yours is blocked and other people's aren't unless you have some kind of aggressive battery manager or something.

Resetting the settings did nothing. Gonna give a shot at resetting the phone. I didn't tinker with any other settings coz I wanted the phone to be up and running at once. It only happened that I hit a snag with this issue.

Yes I have the same Phone and build number but I can toggle the "stay connected when device is asleep"tab on and off
1. So, there are about 5 users here with the same model number (EVR-AL00) and build number (9.0.0.136). Some can toggle "Stay connected while device sleeps", while--like me--hughey2k2 cannot. I cannot.
2. If it were a software problem, then all of us should have the same experience.
3. Does this point to, possibly, a hardware-related problem peculiar to the specific production batch? (Just to spell it out I mean, hughey2k2's phone were produced in the batch and there was a problem in production--possibly hardware--that could be the cause).
Comments?
EDIT: hughey2k2's unit does not have the same problem.

I used for some time smartlock (because Pixel was paired with a smartband), so if it's connected, it was set to unlock in this case without password or fingerprint.
Otherwise, if we use fingerprint it take half second to unlock, so it's almost the same, but each user can decide what is more comfortable for him.

This is also pointless Because, we should not complain if now the fingerprint has reached a good level of speed, while, when the Pixel 6 was released many people complained because of slowness or reliability.

You may need to use gloves or other conditions where you cannot unlock the phone, then smart-lock might be useful. But as you say, in normal condition takes almost the same time. Then what is the point? You ask to remove a function that might be useful to others? Just don't use it if you don't like.

Ty so much for this.. But from his description
"You phone will never be locked"
I see how this is keeping the device unlocked (for a certain period of time) but how does the device auto lock when leaving a trusted site?
For me I have several trustes sites already with profiles made in Tasker.
My default (outside/not at home) would be where I would want my phone locked
