[Q] Gingerbread MIUI - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the best and fastest gingerbread MIUI rom? Also, if I add the most recent FXP 7.2 files to Blend Miui speed porting app, can I make my own rom? Our must I keep the files that are already there? Abby advice would be great!!!
Sent from my LT15i using xda app-developers app

None. Its officially available for ICS only (talking about Arc here) there's some poor attempts to make a GB one, but nothing worth trying
If you want a good MIUI rom, lite on resources, I strongly recommend Arconium MIUI 2.5.11 with Stock with CWM kernel :good:
And I can't help you with the other part of your quest, better if someone who knows about porting answers you

this is best miui GB for arc/s and ray,neo

[Q] Which custom rom and kernel you would recommend for better performance?

Hello all,
Which custom rom and kernel you would recommend for better performance for sony ericsson arc. Model number: LT15i, Ver: 2.3.4, Kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf, build number 4.0.2.A.0.62. rooted. I'm noob so I appreciate any help.
Try JJ's hybrid ROM (I'm using 2.3b) with ArcKnight kernel (I'm using Version 8).
The ROM is fast, light, and stable (2.3b was a tad buggy but I have high hopes for 2.4 ), and the kernel is solid too.
Find them here (newer versions):
JJ's ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1537717
ArcKnight Kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597771
If it is performance you want, then cm9 is the best. Only downside is battery life is quite bad.

Hi,
I tried to flash CM9 but somehow after flashing with the CM9 Kernel and restarting the phone, the screen goes blank. Nothing comes up...
I dont know the reason but i tried a couple of times but same thing happened.
The ROM i found best was TEAM ROM HDPI with Doomkernel.
Again it depends on indvidual likes IMO...
What is some good rom with CM9 and where i can found TEAM ROM HDPI ?
you can find the list of ROMs in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572904.
You have TEAM ROM HDPi there
My 2 cents
Ya CM9 is the fastest and slickest, still buggy tho, video camera and hdmi connection not working, but I love the speed, coming from a nexus one backgroup, AOSP is my cup of tea.
For now, I'm testing JJHybrid V2.4, so far so good.. give it a go.
I just went from jj's hybrid rom 2.3b to 2.4b to miui v5 and it is mega fast in comparison, I use doomkernel too

Man! you remembered me my last exams
Because too many questions are there and if i try to give on of those answer for you the next one will slap me:laugh:
Just joking, no offence..
Bro i've tried many ROMs out there, every ROM is unique from other by some features or some customizations.
Better answer is you should check every Rom and let check the taste, you'll better know what is best for you and why it is best for you and others.
Nowadays I am on MIUIv4 and working perfect for me but in others point of view there will be some other Rom..
MIUIv4 I prefer because it's stable, no root problem at all, link2sd working fine for me, smooth butter touch and lots of themes from miuithemes.com..
There are many threads you can find users opinion and suggestions but you can't measure depth of sea util unless you dive into it
So ... i decided to try all ROMS.
-->first i tried ROBOTOMOD and what can i say ... it's awesome !!
-battery life is ... ok
-GPS is working
-is very smooth
-maybe my problem or my mistake, but i have just 1 sound for call,1 for notifications and 1 for alarm
-Conclusion:it's a GOOD ICS ROM !
-->Now i will try CM10 by dudeman or CM10 by benjamin.
Aniway,continue to post about ROMS !! Thank's

So ... i used cm10 by dudeman, last build.I think it's a little bit slow, and have a problem with data conection(jumping on and off all the time)
About EQDKP v5.2 it's okay but slow compared with kimsmod ultimate, and volume have a little annoyng problem:not changing volume state, but changing tracks.if you have a call in progress, you can't use your volume buttons to do that, you have to put down notification bar, open quick settings and then touch de volume ... REALLY ANNOYNG !!
About CM7,doesn't see my WI-FI connection.I don't know why :|
Now i will charge my phone because is low of battery, and then i will install kimsmod supreme deodex(odex if will be uploaded in this time).
In my opinion,BEST ROM(2.3.5 GB) is kimdmod ultimate. No bugs, good battery life !! AND IS VERY FAST AND SMOOTH.
So:i installed kimsmod supreme deodex version but internal memory is only 33 mb so i decided to use data2sd:BAD IDEA !! because i have a class4 32gb sd card, the phone was very very very slow.So ... now i installed cm7.2 and ... it's working good.I will stay with this rom 2-3 days.If i will change the ROM again,i will post here.
Please, post your opinions about ROMS !!
Hi.. I would recommend CM10 by benjamingwyn. It super smooth and in conjunction with apps2sd lots of memory. Though robotmod was good too.
Sent from my Crescent using xda app-developers app
The smoothest, fastest ICS rom I've tried (and I've tried almost all of them) was Robotomod, but Data2SD didn't work, so I changed to SpeedDroid. It seemed a little bit more laggy, but it was still pretty smooth.
Now I use MIUI v4, and it was as smooth as Robotomod at the beginning, but lately it became a bit slower, maybe I should reinstall it.
I tried the basic CM9, all of the CM10 roms, and they were good too, but sometimes not as smooth as the previously mentioned roms.
Hope Robotomod 2, a new Speed Droid and Project Llama will be available soon.
Agree with Pr3no:good:
MIUIv4 is pretty smooth and there are some users who are able to working this rom with data2sd and s2e support..
I am on link2SD and works flawlessly for me..
Hope so that project llama will break the ice and waiting for speed droid too..:highfive:

-it's fast
-stable
-internal memory is around 74 mb,and if you link to your ext partition facebook and youtube, you will have around 100 mb free.
i've pretty much tried all of the roms available for the "c" my favorite so far is the miui snapseries 2.10.12 like it quite a bit, so much to customize and have no problems with battery.
as for gingerbread, jmz sense was my favorite, i used it up until the first miui for cdma was out. i like hensemod a lot but mms came as garbled messages.
link2sd has always worked for me.
i also really like dudeman's paranoid android. its all good stuff, and i-m always down to try new roms.

Nice answer,thanks !
I have tried nearly every ROM that is available for our little phone. I some ways i am kinda of a perfectionist and just want stuff to work. Every ROm that ive tried, although great ROMS, all have little things that I didnt like.
Everytime I keep returning to a Stock ROM, making my own tweaks, so things work the way I like.
I am by no means a dev, just playing around with the kitchen.

[Q] Which ROM should i choose?

Hello everyone!
I want to install a new rom onto my arc s, but i don't know what should i choose?
There's the latest CAMPS (i like it because of the tablet mode) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928416
and Slim Bean :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1959054
and Jelly Bean 4.1.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1979829
and if anyone has another rom PLEASE give me a link.
Thank you.
Try them out and see.
I think CM10 from FXP is most stable AOSP
AOKP by KXP is most feature packed AOSP
But these don't have stock camera HDMI and such working.
If you want AOSP UI with stock features like Sony Camera and HDMI but is stable and fast maybe you should try my ROM beautiful ICS
If you want just a stock ROM with NXT features which is stable and fast then my favourite for that is jaders Ultimate HD Rom.
Depends on what you want

dinesh690, Thank you for your reply.
I REALLY like your rom, i just wish if you could make a jellybean version.
These threads aren't encouraged on the forums as no one can tell you what's best for you. The only way to find out is by going through the Development section, reading the changelogs/features and then trying them out for yourself. This is all part of the fun of being on one of the largest development communities available
Thanks

I know it can be confusing, so it is best to flash kernel recommended by rom owner.
But, i can try to explain:
There are two (2) type of roms:
-Stock (based on sony's firmware)
-Aosp (or aokp, cm or miui)
So, you have Stock gb and ics, but no Stock jb.
For Aosp based roms, you have cm7 as gb based, cm9 as ics based and cm10 as jb based (i don't know what is miui based on)
To be able to boot rom, you need kernel that match type of rom you want to install.
Some version of kernels can boot dual type roms:
Example:
1: ics/gb Stock - can boot ics and gb roms based on Stock firmware
2: ics/gb cm - can boot ics and gb based on aosp ics gb roms
3:lupus v8 jb can boot Aosp jb and Aosp ics roms, and MAYBE that's the
kernel you are searching.
The best way is to search in kernels thread based on rom you want to install

dude, that makes a lot of sense, ever since i installed the kernel that i mentioned earlier i have been having random issues with some custom roms
usun lupus ics v12 720 on verizon xperia play
Gin2jelly bean rom is not recognized by my computer and wom was amazing but i dont like when developers put too much apps in it . i guess the problem was the kernel i am using
ICE CREAM PURENESS : laggiest thing ever, dont know why
[ROM][GSM] Gamer 4 [Ultimate Sony experience], this rom i wanted to install because it has on screen softkey buttons. so i could use those instead of the hardware one, but have to uninstall because the didnt appear on screen and has lots of apps.
SLIMBEAN: WELL I COULDNT INSTALL IT AND KERNEL KEPT ON BOOTING LIKE CRAZY.
NOW I AM BACK WITH THE BEST ICS ROM IN MY OPINION THE TRUE ANCESTOR FINAL EDITION, WHICH I LOVE BUT IT DOESNT HAVE THE SOFTKEY BUTTONS
but now that you clarify this i might try to flash a jelly bean kernel since google claims that jellybean is the one to beat lag.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR REPLYING.

Well, just to add, if you want gaming perfomance, use gb roms. Ics is stable these days, but little slower then gb in gaming. Jb is only Aosp based, it's good in gaming, but some things are still "work in progress".
Ps: we where all noobs at some point

Eta is asking when something will come out. Neo2play is the Rom that he made and its in his Signature that's why you see it in all his posts. That rom doesn't haven't screen buttons but it does give you lots of choice in what you use to fully customize your phone through aroma installer. It should work if you have an ics kernel but it has to be a stock ics kernel not aosp. If your using true ancestor then that means neo2play should work on the sane kernel
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
True ancestor rom, as my rom also, is based on Stock ics for Neo L (since that phone have exactly same hardware as play, minus touchpafs). My rom came out later, but i modded it more, and put aroma installer with bunch of rom options (gamers like less things installed, casual gamers sacrifice ram for the sake of extra stuff).
Some roms have osb (on screen buttons), but you'll have to search for it.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
If you really want osb then you can use markphytons nxt ics revolution rom. He removed it from xda but you can probably find a link for it somewhere in q&a section

MiuiV5 stockBased, MiuiV5 by iHackers or ExistenZ?

What is the Rom with better performance? I want to try MIUI, but i remember that the MIUI of iHackers had the problem of "non in market apps" (like Unicredit App). How is the stock based by balcangsm? Thank you very much. (battery life is very important for my decision).

All are good ROMs.. MIUI by iHackers is only for UB.. MIUI stock based is mainly for smoothness, good battery backup and indeed done for LB.. eXistenZ has completely Sony Xperia Honami aka Z1 UI in it.. Complete port of Z1 framework in it.. So more like Stock Honami in ur SXS..
The official end of the package a good point

Stock, aosp or cm10 roms are best
Stock - stable but lacks graphics smoothnesd
Aosp - no stable working ones
Cm10- some games dont work or crash often BUT has best performance
Everything kinda folows especialy if you test this with max graphics on GTA 3 or real racing (have to mod to do)
