Hello all,
So after updating my Lumia 710 from Rogers, in the "About" screen of the Diagnostic Tool I see that I am on FW revision 1600.3007.7740.11465. This is a few versions behind what seems to be the latest version out there for unlocked variants of the phone...
So I found this page:
http://www.wpcentral.com/hack-t-mobile-lumia-710-flash-windows-phone-os-8107-new-firmware
Which claims that they have flashed the latest Indian firmware (8107.12070) for the RM-803 variant of the phone onto the T-Mobile (RM-809) version. However I am somewhat reluctant to try flashing an RM-803 image onto an RM-809, especially due to the fact that they support different 3G bands. What do you guys think?
Alternatively, I can see in Navifirm+ that the latest available image for the RM-809 is the Australian 8107.12050, so that might be a safer choice?
This will be the first time I try to manually update a Windows Phone... So what do you guys think? I really want to update it since there are some GMail syncing issues on the build that I'm running now.
I updated my lumia 710 from rogers (RM-809) with the RM-803 indian rom 12070 with no problems! Nothing is missing and it's now unbranded If you follow this guide it's really simple!
Thanks, Simon!
After reading your post, I gave it a shot and everything seems to be working fine I wonder if we should be seeing any battery life improvements like the Lumia 800 users?
Just something I should mention, though: I unlocked my phone so that I could use it on Wind Mobile, but after going through the flashing process, the phone became locked again so I had to re-enter my unlock code.
I didn't know that it was even possible for a phone to become locked again, after already having been unlocked...
I am thinking about getting a Lumia 710, and I am really surprised that you guys were able to flash a firmware from another RM-### without bricking the phone.
I currently own the X7 (RM659) from the Rogers and I was told not to flash the Belle firmware from the X& (RM707) since the phone will get bricked.
Nonetheless, thanks a lot for the info.
Which software do you use to flash? Phoenix or WP7 requires other tools? Never mind I found the post detailing how to debrand it.
The weird thing is... I tried to downgrade from the Indian (RM-803) 1070 build to the Australian (RM-809) 1050 build, and I wasn't able to...
It seems there is a small battery bug (Diagnostic tool doesn't display battery info) so that's why I tried to install the Australian one instead.
Whenever the next update comes along, I hope I'll be able to switch back to an RM-809 build... It seems like the safe way to go.

Normally you shouldn't... But the only reason I did it is because other people had successfully done it.
Also keep in mind that Symbian phones seem to be a little pickier - you can brick them just by trying to downgrade to the previous OS.
Edit: Well that's weird... My Battery Status randomly started working!
Edit #2: I just remembered I did a battery pull, so that may have had something to do with why it is fixed now...
I never knew it was possible to downgrade the OS for Nokia phones whether it is Symbian or WP.
Would an unlocked T-Mobile Lumia 710 work fine on the Rogers network? Do the GSM bands match?
It would indeed. The RM-809 model supports HSPA 850/1700/1900/2100. So it will work on any of the North American operators. (excluding the cdma operators like Verizon and Sprint, of course)
Actually, I bought my Lumia 710 from Rogers, unlocked it, and I am using it on Wind Mobile now (same hspa band as t-mobile).
Edit: I hope you're right about the downgrading thing, since that would mean that the reason I wasn't able to flash back to RM-809 was because of the fact that it's a downgrade, as opposed to something being messed up on the phone! I guess I'll find out when the next update comes along.
I am 100% sure you cannot downgrade Nokia firmwares without bricking the phone. I read about one method somewhere, but it was very complicated.
If I were you, I wouldn't be worried, now that you have the RM-803 firmware, next time there is an RM-803 update, you should be able to update via Zune/Nokia Suite without having to go through the method you used at the beginning of the post.
Now your phone is an RM-803 so Zune will recognize it as so and update it normally hence the beauty of debranding where you don't have to wait for operators.

I was wondering that too.
Also, there's two T_Mobile 8773 fw's listed for each color phone. One appears to have been released 06/04/12. The other 05/29 . What's the differences?
Hey all,
I really hate to make a new thread but since my post count is lower than 10 I wasn't able to reply to a relevant thread in the dev forum.
I have the latest Nokia care suite installed and am running the last official update from AT&T. I have flashed a few phones with care suite, so i have some experience, but I have a question. When I run either multi software update or product support tool, they pick my phone up correctly as a black at&t lumia 900 and tell me thr software is out of date. They both show the version with numbers matching those recently uploaded on navifirm. I assume care suite is looking at the same repositories these navifirm on nokias servers. If i am thinking about this correctly, I should only have to hit refurbish to install the software in the same manner as downloading the firmware manually through navifirm then flashing it with care suite.
Am I correct in my thinking? Would the results be the same? If not, what would be the potential differences or problems I would encounter?
Well here it is, i'm downloading now. Mostly EU and Finland...I'm in AU but going to try finland.
Hi i have a nokia lumia 900 from att can i download this rom ????

Not until the at&t variants are released.
Rm-823 is released AT&T is an rm-808
Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Has anyone tried installing the 823 onto the 808? i would be curious to know what happens or what the changes are? In a lot of industries, the model changes but the inards don't.
It will not flash the 823 to an 808. You can pick the rom, but when it tries to flash it barfs.
YEah in this case they are different hardware. from what i can figure the RM-823 has the GSM, 3G and HSDPA bands where the RM-808 has the 4G/LTE bands. In most cases Lumias have all radio and enabled by software but not so with the AT&T models.
so there are loads on there now which make me think that they are getting ready for roll out, would be a nice Chrimbo present.
2 Questions, if you see an EU variant for White, will it work with an EU phone? My current is
Type Designator RM-823
Model Name NOKIA Lumia 900
Product Code 059P5N9
Software Version 2175.2503.8779.12301
Next question is looking on xda etc I must be blind, I see lots of people say they are rocking 7.8 but can not how to get to it. Any pointers to a good post would be happily received.
Cheers
Just finished installing Software Version 2175.2905.8858.12480, Finland variant and apart from some confusion with the Finnish language (until I could change it to English) when first starting up it seems to be running fine.
So far all I've tested is connecting WiFi to my wireless network and then wirelessly tethering the phone to my laptop and it all seems to be working as it should.
Will do some more testing of various functions and let you know if there are any problems.
Now to setup my Home screen tiles properly (finally)

Also as long as it's an rm-823 and the country variant has the same bands as your country then your all good. Worst thing that can happen is your reception won't be as good if the variant you flash from does not have the same bands.
If it doesn't work well, just reflash a different one, all good

No. Not even when the RM-808 is out. It HAS to be the at&t version. Rogers won't flash on a at&t RM-808.

successfully updating my 900 to 7.8..mine is from Singtel Singapore..and no..my variant is not out yet..but i just flash it using Sweden variant and all i can say is everything work like a charm.. except theres no Bluetooth file sharing and ringtone maker yet..i think, its unfinished rom @[email protected] using Windows 8 x64.
Ps: anyone getting their Lumia not recognize by the NCS, try this:
1. Install the driver from Programfiles/nokia/nokia care suit/ driver..install everything, be sure for ur x86 or x64.
2. Restart windows.
3. Avoid using any USB 3.0 when connecting ur phone to ur PC/Laptop.
Edit: as i read on some others article, theres someone that said their 7.8 have the Bluetooth file sharing and ringtone maker..and most of them using India variant..but, too lazy to flash again xD anyone care to try? and i dont think theres a big diffrent between variant, well im using Singapore set and successfully flash using Sweden variant, so theres no big diffrent between each other and basically..u can used any variant you like, except if u are on at&t as their Lumias have an LTE which diffrent from all of us
All you need is the windows driver on the root of that drivers directory. I confirmed it today if your system is 64bit install that if it's 32 just install that one.

Sorry I checked some but couldn't find the thread (most probably my bad). I ve bring an AT&T version of Note from US to my home country Turkey. I am currently checking for software updates but no update available yet. Once I checked internet. AT&T has already delivered the 5.0 update also a small bug fixing update delivered by AT&T and Samsung.
Would it be something blocking my update ?
Please help me how to go with this
You have to be on att network to get the update ota look in this section for the Odin flashable update

I have a Lumia 540 and I wanted to run Android apps on my phone, so i followed the instructions on this thread, because apparently my phone is not (yet) supported by Project Astoria.
In the middle of the instructions, when i tried upgrading to windows 10 (either in the slow or the fast ring), i got the 10586 build whereas i was looking for 10536 or 10166. On continuing, as usual, i got an error code = 14. I want to know whether there's a way using which we can downgrade to the previous builds of windows 10 mobile.
Downgrade for L540 is not possible for now as we need previous build package for the process.
Of course

Is it possible for Lumia 625; do you have its previous build packages?
it's impossible, I've seen only old packages for lumia 930 and lumia 640 but not for lumia 540 or 625.
