Since I am new and unable to post in the developers section, I just wanted to say thanks specifically to WildChild and and the others who made the sweet ROM for the Galaxy S3. I currently am running v29 and it works awesome. Very little heat issues almost no flicker issues. Battery life is much better also. I am enjoying it thoroughly. I have tried many others (my rom count is @ 18) and I've only had my phone a month. This one by far is the best. I am new to the Android Development and your hard work and directions are superb! Thanks to everyone!!

Yes sir I have flashed it this morning and until now I am loving it, hope nothing comes up to change that .
Pete makes a few little changes here and there, but I've tried his ROMs since the OG droid, and I gave them a fair chance (3 day period) and I always found myself going back to other developers.
It's not so much that I had issues running his ROM, it's just the other ROMs offered much more and had better performance. I gave his bugless another chance on the galaxy nexus, and history seems to repeat itself.
gummynex and rootzboat are both superior in my opinion.

Thanks for the input! I'm running GummyNex now and loving it. I'm just interested in exploring other options.
I'm currently running Mr. Alfonso's 12/20 nightly, and it's my favorite so far...basic, solid, pure 4.03. Other than that, I've flashed (in this order):
Bigxie's Stock 4.02 rooted with added autobrightness mod - compass was broken. Facebook fonts were invisible until i deleted a couple of corrupt font files.
Revolution HD 2.1.1 - Seemed fine...felt like stock 4.02 but clearly had been poked and prodded a bit.
ODIN image with no bootloader/no wipe/no recovery - i only flashed it to get as close to stock w/ CWM as possible. not sure it was worth the effort.
rootz boat - Solid, but it was missing a few niceties from the stock rom...seemingly for the sake of aosp purity? Bleh... Google apps issues were an annoyance, and a couple of the tweaks just seemed pointless. Also, while not much of an issue, it had a terribly obnoxious default wallpaper.

Other ROM developers make a bunch of pointless changes here and there, and I've been flashing their ROMs since the venerable HTC Dream. I give them a fair chance and often appreciate their work a great deal, but I always end up going back to the ROMs that provide me with a near-stock experience boasting added stability, better battery life, and solid performance. For my wife's OG droid, there's no question Pete's ROMs and kernels were at the top of the heap for most of that phone's lifespan. For my original t-mo galaxy s vibrant, birgertime nailed it with trigger.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with the gnex. I feel like we've got a ton of top-shelf talent descending upon this device, but I'm giving Pete the early lead based on track record and my early satisfaction with the 12/20 nightly.
Hi guys I'm pretty new to the world of Android after going through several generations of iPhones I got bored and love my GS2. Now I see that there's a bunch of roms to choose from and I was curious if there were any websites that specifically review them. In a non biased way. In reality I'm looking for the ROM that has the best battery life but is hard to know based on the individual room descriptions. Thank you in advance and thank you developers for giving us so many options.
Your best bet would be to skim the ROM threads and make a decision on which rom will suit you best based on pros and cons that users report. The number of hits each thread has gives you a vague idea of the popularity of a specific rom. Really the only person that can make unbiased reviews on these roms is you because in the end the "best rom" is entirely up to you and your specific needs

FLASH THEM ALLLLLL
Honestly, all the roms here are quick and smooth.. my DD (daily driver) right now is dewizzed + faux kernel + gideon's script (incredible battery life)
I chose dewizzed because of the simplicity of it.
people say that synergy has good battery life with dewizzed, but you might encounter a few lag stutters here and there? not sure.. im actually testing it right now.
Okay now if you want it to be more stock, i recommend Juggernaut rom, that's probably the best touchwiz rom out right now.. battery life good but not as good as dewizzed.
If you want to see what an android is capable of in a theme category, check out thursday's rom, Tuesday. I played with it for a couple hours but the purple was too much for me. great rom though.
Haven't really tried any of the rest. good luck and welcome!
Since i got my gs2 about a month ago, i flashed the bombaridier 3.5 rom and i never look back.
If battery life is ur top priority this rom iss for u. I easily get 18-20 hours with moderate use everyday. Plus its stable and fast. All i have done is put the ics theme and thats it
Give it a try, u wont regret it

If you want a site that reviews roms and gives some good advice and tricks for the gs2 then go to galaxys2root.com they have stuff for all versions. Btw i am not afilliated with the site at all, i just use it to see the roms before i flash them

ROM comparison topics are not allowed in XDA
it discourages DEVelopments
and also fuels a lot of trolling
To whom it my concern:
I have been the guy who had dealt with ups and downs with the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Mostly downs! But this thread is to simply help those with the LTE Galaxy Nexus and needing answers as to What rom is best and/or Kernel.
My experience lately with one of the greatest ROMS has been awesome! Along with a Kernel i separately flashed. Both 4.1.1 AOSP Liquid Smooth Rom and Franco Kernel has made me the happiest man with a Galaxy Nexus and definitely saved me a few hundreds, considering i was close on buying the GS3. A lot that i was looking for, i found in both of these babies.
I can go all day about how wonderful both of these go hand and hand. Just know this completely solves battery issues (I dealt with a battery life lasting about 6 hours and NOW i go about 12 to 13 hours). Does a good job with customization (for me at least). Performance is buttery LIQUID smooth.

Everything you NEED to know, is on the developers thread ^^^ ... i personally take NO credit for these mods.
Big thanks to the great Developers on Team Liquid.
I just wanted to share with you all, those who are looking for something better. Any questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks for your input. I however have the SMOOTHEST and most trouble free rom and kernal. STOCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the one phone if you can wait for JB there really is no need for anything more then unlocked boot and rom....
Glad you found your happy spot though!
Hello! This question has probably been asked, but I put the title in and it didn't come up in similar threads.....
I just got my SGS3 a couple of weeks ago and I love it so far. I am currently looking for a nice deodexed, debloated Jellybean ROM. I am looking for one that has great battery life, sleek features and preferably everything in working condition with no bugs. Which is the best? Which are you currently using? I ask your opinions please w/ supporting statements as to why you love your ROM. Thanks ahead of time for the answers!

I'm running that Rom as well but I found a lil fault in it. It shows graphics trails on certain apps and almost does a flicker on the swype pad when texting.

Well I'm running ParanoidAndroid 2.16 at the moment and it runs excellent, I get about 22-26 hours per charge. I ran CM10 but wasn't really impressed and battery was going quickly. Don't forget to hit Thanks if you found my comment useful
Hey,
I've been searching but all the information is quite old (1+ year).
I am looking for the ''best'' rom. Best as better than stock (better performance, better battery life, memory management, etc.) It's subjective but I am not looking for one in particular just your impression of what you would use and why.
Also if you have a great up to date link, that would be enough too
I'm a huge fan of Spirit Rom. I've used quite a few, and still keep coming back to it. Good battery life and plenty of customizations to make your phone feel fresh and new again
You won't find many best Rom threads because they are frowned upon. Most end up being closed because they turn into fan fest and trolling nightmares.
Best is an opinion so as the old saying goes an opinion is like a belly button everyone has one.
We will leave this open and see how it goes, if it becomes a problem thread those causing problems will be handled and thread will be closed.
Keep it all cool in here.

Have a great day! from my LG G3
Thanks for the suggestion, I am trying it now. Still trying to figure out how to back-up then I will install. Would be great to have extra suggestions to try more than one custom rom!
I am using Liquid Smooth rom and it runs very fast and smooth. Kitkat 4.4.4.
You can't go wrong with this one IMO. Pretty much stock Lollipop, runs very smooth, battery life is great, and has super active devs. Only thing bugged is the camera, but it still works with Play Store apps and apparently the issue will be fixed soon.
