If you are getting a good cell signal and your calls are working fine, I don't think it's the radio. I'm on Wind and have had no issues with any of the radios/roms I've tried. Try going back to stock radio and rom and see if that helps. Otherwise it could be a bad phone or something with mobilicity's service.

Well for my phone i like the Darkside Venom kernel and the UVLG3 Radio/Modem. Increases data speeds and cell range by 3x.

Apn settings?

Telus Gnex reception issues.

I have a Telus purchased Galaxy Nexus which I have rooted, installed CWM and first upgraded to stock 4.0.4 yakju then have been running AOKP since. I have had bad reception with the phone for a while now. Not slow connection just no reception alot of the time or it really fluctuates alot. I was wondering if i have to flash back to a Canadian radio to get better reception here in Canada? or is there something else that I have forgot during all of what I have done?
Any radio should technically work, as I'm on Bell, using an European radio.
so technically it may not be the radio thats causing me the issues then? is there anything else i can look into?
either that or i may have to get rid of the phone to get something that i can atleast make phone calls and send txt.
I'm not saying it's anyones fault, but I also ran AOKP with tons of signal issues. But ever since I switched to rascream ROM and Trinity Kernel its been a non issue. I would just suggest flashing a few alternatives and see if anything else works better for you.
Btw, I'm also on Telus.

GT1900M... on Rogers.... PLEASE HELP.

I do apologize in advance, but i am in desperate need of help. I purchased a bell unlocked GTI9100M off of this guy.. he had it unrooted, did something to it, and now it's a I9100... he told me it's unlocked and how i can use my rogers sim etc.. Here's the problem... my signal/data reception is horrible.. I constantly go from 3 bars 3g... to zero in the most random spots.. If im at a friends house, i will get no service.. in my own driveway i will get nothing, in my bedroom i will get 3 bars....
android version is 4.0.4
baseband: I9100XXLQ6
if i type in #*1234# i get the following..
pda: i9100xwlpt and my CSC: i9100xeulpa
there was another code that i tried typing for the USSC? however it said invalied MMI
i honestly have tried everything to get a constant signal and no go, this is honestly frustrating me since i don't know what on earth he did to it. I read that Bells frequency is compatable with Rogers . But I don't understand for the life of me, why I get extremely bad signal! I don't know if he made it to be set out as the international version, I just want to get this thing working, that's all. it's almost as if the phone is a vegetable in order to get a good signal strength... I did the whole rogers apn settings etc, and still no go.
Once again, I do apologize, but hopefully someone here can help me.
thank You.

[Q] Strange service issue with unlocked S3 on T-Mobile

Greetings everyone! I'm a long-time lurker on this site, but have a bizarre problem that I need help with. I've searched all over, and haven't found anyone with this issue. Hopefully someone here can help! Ok, here it goes.
I purchased a used AT&T Galaxy S3, unlocked it, and put it on a T-Mobile prepaid plan. Everything works properly (calls, texts, data, etc.). But when I get to work I have the problem. While I'm in my building, the phone will show full bars for service, but it tells me it's not connected to any network when I try to do anything. If I try to make a call, it says for emergency calls only. Basically it acts the same as if the bill hadn't been paid, so they suspend your service while the phone still shows a signal. As soon as I leave the building, everything comes back as normal.
At first I was thinking the building was a dead zone, but it doesn't add up. Everyone else at work is always on their cell phones walking all around, and I've asked around to see if anyone else had these problems. Everyone says they have no reception issues at all, coming from people on various networks. Also, if it were a dead zone, I wouldn't think it'd be showing fluctuating signal bars. So I'm stumped, and desperately need to figure this out. Any ideas?
Tried a different modem?

Would I be able to get a stock T-mobile rom without having to downgrade from 4.1? The only one I could find was for 4.0.4.

Ok, so an update on this situation. I flashed the T-Mobile stock firmware via Odin as suggested. I tried that with a combination of different modems, and nothing worked. I finally caved and bought a T-Mobile S3 T999, which arrived last night. On my way to work I had 4G just about the whole way, seemingly great service. As soon as I got inside, the problem was back. Five bars, no service (now saying not registered on network). I'm starting to wonder if it's the fault of the S3 in general having poor signal quality, or if it's T-Mobile service. I'm hoping maybe someone else has some new ideas to try out, or suggestions on if I should get a different phone or network.

T989 on Mobilicity

Hi there, I recently got this device and I'm using it on Mobilicity. However, for the past month I have only been met with dissatisfaction. I have tried JMTX4, Galaxy SBean 13.5, CM9, CM10, Rootbox 3.8 w/ Cerux (Skyrocket port) with a bunch of different radios. Try as I might, the call quality and reception is very poor. I'm coming from a Blackberry 9360 and I'm comparing my experience to that. I really like the T989 and how it allows me to do so much more than my old BB, but I'm heartbroken at how it just doesn't want to work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
aaaa
Move to a different location, its not the phone bro its mobilicity. Their coverage is terrible in some places but if you move somewhere else its the same as say rogers or bell

Unexplained weak signal and poor reception on an unlocked i317m, please help!

Hi all, this is my first time posting in these forums.
I've recently purchased a used rogers model i317m galaxy note 2 and used the dialer code so I could use it on Telus.
Since doing so, I have experienced intermittent, unexplainable signal drops, especially going into indoor areas. I have a friend with the same model phone, but Telus stock, and we have compared signal strength over the last two weeks. In a friends basement, he gets full reception on his note 2, while I get nothing.
In dealing with this issue, I have perused these forums for weeks. A variety of threads in the various note 2 forums all point to something fishy going on with galaxy note 2's that have been unlocked with the dialer code, and no conclusive evidence or answers regarding what the problem is, or how it can be fixed. It seems like those threads simply die because people cannot provide an explanation.
I have taken the phone to multiple repair shops, but their answers were all varying and they were more interested in trying to sell me on replacing the main board for $300 than helping me (no idea if it would actually fix anything if it's software related). I originally thought it could be a hardware antenna issue, but looking online and inquiring at the shops, antenna problems are so rare they don't even have stock, and have never been asked to replace one.
I doubt it's a hardware problem, and the other loose threads regarding this issue seem to confirm that it is software related, and only happens to dialer unlocked note 2's. And since I am getting reception (3bars and let outside, 1 bar and no data inside), the antennas do seem to be working.
ive tried a variety of solutions suggested on* the forums, but to no avail.
1) factory reset, no results
2) new sim card, no results
3) flashing a stock Telus rom, changing csc code, nothing
4) flashing new telus radio (even though I know rogers, Telus, sasktel all use the same radio), nothing
5) flashing aws band, made reception worse (maybe)
6) using *#*#2236# code, changing options, nothing
7) calling Telus, explaining the situation, having them make sure everything was fine on their side. Everything checked out and the Telus guy was equally confused by the problem.
8) main Samsung tech support, same issue. The representative was confused as well, and started cruising xda to try to help me!
This has been incredibly frustrating. The signal drop is so bad it basically renders the phone unusable. Right now I'm sitting in a house on the main floor on wifi next to big windows, and I'm getting one bar of reception and no data at all. On my nexus in the same room I was getting full signal.
The only thing I haven't tried is flashing modded baseband radios, but another person with the same problem on xda tried that and it didn't work for them at all.
I think I'm out of options. Planning on selling it to a used store for cheap and buying one fresh from Telus, or ordering an international model so this won't happen again.
Can anyone help?
Thanks so much.

I had the same problem, reset flash counter to zero and returned it to Samsung for warranty. They fixed it for me. I am on my phone now so i can't link to the thread, but if you Google reset flash counter to zero gn2 xda, you should find the answer. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Was it confirmed to be a hardware problem? Will they accept used phones under warranty?

Try flashing this rom and flash your modem/radio before you reboot system. I am using it right now and my signal increased with this stock rom. I am using Ma3 modem with it and works great.

Yes, they told me it hard ware, and yes, it was used and still under warranty. Try contacting Samsung through online chat via their help center.

It's a hidden menu, that's within the phone. Same way you unlock it by using the hidden menu!

I was having the same problem on my Note 2 i317 and seem to have fixed it with the latest modem i317UCAMH3. It still fluxuates, but now I get a full 5 bars of reception and it lasts much longer. I also downloaded an app call OpenSignal, that seems to help...cannot image exactly why, but when I get low reception, I open this app and watch it jump to at least 2 bars and then I can make a call again (this was before flashing the newer modem), now I just use the app for visual purposes, as the Beanstalk image for reception is hard to see, OpenSignal has nice big green bars that are easy to see. Try the new modem and give it at least 15 minutes to connect, then it seems to stay connected for me...except when it locks and goes to sleep...it still loses reception when that happens, but that is an issue for another day.
Cheers!
