Is it possible to port or extract this feature from a LG Android phone? I noticed this feature is available on the soon to be released LG Optimus G on Sprint.
This feature lets you watch video and multitask on top of the video via an opaque layer. It seems like a great alternative to the PopUp Player on the SGS3.
This is the link for people who don't know what I'm talking about.

If it's not possible to pull the APK file from the Optimus, is there another similar program available that does this?
Thanks!
I would also love to see this on our phones.
Would be awesome if it can be ported

I don't like the default gallery on the G2, what are your suggestions for the best replacement?
the stock gallery from the desire, i had it on my nexus one but not sure if it will work on G2, its superfast.
Wish I could use the g1 gallery imo it was fast and simple. all these silly effects do nothing for me.

Those options are already, on the lg pro,(at&t). .go to options/display/lockscreen/screen effect/...if that's what you mean. ..

Correct I actually like the effect they use to open the screen. Now if we could get some widgets on the homescreen (like the S4 does) and more than 1 calendar appt listed that would be nice. I mean come on its a 5.5" screen, what good is it if you don't use the space wisely.

+1 for the Raptor lol :good:
Screw aosp lockscreen how about 4.2.2 instead
Port to cm11? 4.4.2?
How about porting it/modifying/creating a deodexed apk of lockscreen and lockscreen settings to work with kitkat 4.4.2? Does anyone know if this has been done, or if maybe it is easier than i am thinking? I tried copying them into system/app, but can only get the lockscreen settings to come up, no actual lock screen. Also the other stock apps to kitkat would be amazing, just wondering if anyone knows where i might find those.
So the G3 launcher and keyboard can be ported and the G Pro 2 SlideAside and Knock Code can be ported. I'm wondering if the G Pro 2's great Mini View feature can also be ported.
Does anyone know if it's a simple system apk, built in the launcher, or in the kernel?

Would also be very interested for portation for LG G3.
Can the lg home app from 5.0 be ported to cm12 or does it require the framework

it is not possible, this also including no LG Keyboard, LG Camera, Quick memo, and all LG apps.
I'm a newbie, but i think it is because of the different framework

The Keyboard already has been ported and the G2's Camera App has been ported, too.
But it's not as easy as pulling the apk and installing it (for most apps), so you'd have to wait for a dev to this hard work. Especially the camera isn't easy to port, if it's possible at all.
But I don't understand why you would want to use the stock launcher when you got Trebuchet...
The stock launcher doesn't have a single advantage, it's slow, ram-heavy and not customizable.
I just hate trebuchet and google now launcher really like lg' launcher personal preference

I just bought the G4... got it rooted... but I just hate the keyboard.
Are you talking about the onscreen keyboard? Are you looking for something like this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
Sent from somewhere via Nexus 6
I've used swiftkey and I just don't like the themes available.
I've seen .apk's for the S6 floating around - but from what I understand they will only work on a TouchWiz rom. Just wasn't sure if there was some way around that.
The s6 requires the TouchWiz framework. The m 9 keyboard requires the sense framework. Both would have to be reverse engineered and ported before they would work. Seeing as how there's no roms or recovery. I say the probability of it happening is unlikely

+1 for the google keyboard. It is one of the first changes I make on any new phone.
