I would recommend u try an app like 'screen filter' first. I have one of my friend's at work who has a mirrored-style privacy protector on his phone (Vibrant). No use though. When the screen turns on, I can see whats on it. Plus the screen itself adds to reflection, even at room light. I wonder how it would fare in sunlight.

can you see anything on your screen?
or let me put it like this, does/did your screen turn off fast and instantly when you pushed the button or did it dim out at a nice smooth pace?

If you need help you can pm me and I can guide you through it. I mean listen, if your gonna take it apart to fix it yourself, you might as well take it apart first, trust me saves time in the long run.

So I guess you want to know if you have the wide or thin ribbon cable? The only way to tell is to open your phone up, but the more common cable is the thin one.
evo lcd
i would think to look what hardware you have in phone info 002 003 whatever
can anyone verify this? I bought a a screen and housing but the its the thick cable and I need the thin one. I knew I took a gamble but lost. So I was hoping on buying another evo with a broken screen and just replace the motherboard, but would like to know if there is anyway to have the seller check which one he has without having him open it.
going on 2 weeks with no EVO
jerryparid said:
1. Connect PC to Evo in charge/development mode; then adb shell dmesg > evoinfo.txt. Look for "novatec" or "epson" in the txt file
or
2. Download terminal emulator from market, type dmesg, find "novatec" or epson" in the output
or
3. Add HTC Power Widget, change the screen brightness. Instant change = Epson, gradual/fading change = Novatec

Did you buy the screen and housing from a reputable seller on Ebay? If you did he should be more than happy to exchange the wide cable for the thin one for you.
In any case, I would think the screen/housing would be cheaper than even a cracked screen evo, unless you get an amazing deal.

He's not a dealer just had a refurbished housing and screen. I think i'm done messing with it. I'll buy a used working EVO and sell the housing I just bought and sell my broken EVO for parts.
I was boring so i fount THIS video about repairing the screen.
I could never do that to my OneX, it would break my heart lol But in the video it looks like we have a replaceable battery now we just have to wait that someone makes a battery with the same dimensions and 2500 mAh
It looks easy to open it ... realy good to know this
Also you can purchase housings for it so if your housing gets cracked or dirty you can replace it.

I dont think it is hard to make such batterys, its just noone would open his expensive phone to replace it, and theres no place for a stronger battery
just thought i would post this here in case someone is in need of a new lcd,,i have been reconditioning the htc and with replacing the lcd on the htc one x iv always found that all the replacement screen i have had in the past the back,,, home,,,menu buttons lights dont work,,this is because on the original screen there are three little dividers between the digitizer and lcd,,which the replacement ones dont have
here is a good quality replacement lcd & digitizer for under £40 wich has the dividers installed and all the lights work
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-...406&pid=100015&prg=1006&rk=1&sd=271218303977&
not so much dividers as refractive plastic - like optic fibre that guides the light from the leds to the buttons. Why the leds arent over the buttons in the first place ....
well ye that explains it better,,but still the same thing the lights dont work properly with out them....
I just bought this one to fix mine - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310674066973?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

goog good have are the lights working
I'm still waiting on delivery so i'll let u know when i get it fixed
These probably wont be the SLCD2 screen for that price. So I wouldn't expect them to be half as good as the original HOX screens.
no .but i think iv probably bought and repaired over a 100 odd one x and resold them on eBay, and 4 the price thay are pretty good for the price and never had any complaints.. thay why i put it up on here..but we all have our own opinions

lol now worries,,,,:good:
Hi S2 community. I was doing a bit of cleaning at home and found some of the accessories from my S2 (see the pictures). There are two batteries and cover back plus two screen protectors. If you want anything from it just let me know by PM and I will send it to you. Just tell me your address and what you want. Everything is for free.
In addition I also have a broken S2 which I don't know what to do with. I think the motherboard is toasted. No signs of life. However the screen is completely new and had always screen protector, so if anyone need it let me know. For this just tell me how much you would give.
All the best.
