need a new lcd & digitizer - HTC One X

just thought i would post this here in case someone is in need of a new lcd,,i have been reconditioning the htc and with replacing the lcd on the htc one x iv always found that all the replacement screen i have had in the past the back,,, home,,,menu buttons lights dont work,,this is because on the original screen there are three little dividers between the digitizer and lcd,,which the replacement ones dont have
here is a good quality replacement lcd & digitizer for under £40 wich has the dividers installed and all the lights work
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-...406&pid=100015&prg=1006&rk=1&sd=271218303977&

not so much dividers as refractive plastic - like optic fibre that guides the light from the leds to the buttons. Why the leds arent over the buttons in the first place ....

well ye that explains it better,,but still the same thing the lights dont work properly with out them....

I just bought this one to fix mine - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310674066973?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

goog good have are the lights working

I'm still waiting on delivery so i'll let u know when i get it fixed

These probably wont be the SLCD2 screen for that price. So I wouldn't expect them to be half as good as the original HOX screens.

no .but i think iv probably bought and repaired over a 100 odd one x and resold them on eBay, and 4 the price thay are pretty good for the price and never had any complaints.. thay why i put it up on here..but we all have our own opinions

sadly, I only need two things for this phone: a new battery cover and a better screen (i got a bad one). Unfortunately this only comes with one of those things, and Im not pain $85 for a battery cover. (not sure Id know how to install a screen even if it DID have one).

yeah, but a heck of a lot better than $80. Ill message the seller and see if he might be willing to negotiate that price some, too. Who knows, some are.
Side note, anybody know of any skins that might cover over the small scratches on my backplate that might be cheaper than $40?
You could try some vynil skins/stickers? Easily found on Ebay too.
Or just get a case to cover it up.

If you have a malfunction of the housing due to manufacturer defect then you can return it for a replacement. My housing was squeaking around the buttons and I'm returning it for that reason, outside of the remorse period. But if your phone is less than one year old (which all of these are) it's covered by warranty. Call Tmo customer support and complain until they give you a new one.
I'd like one just to make it look better...
I'm thinking about getting this phone, and would like a white one IF it wasn't two shades of grey in the back.
I've replaced quite a few housings on phones I've owned (BB Pearl, T-Mo G1, and a T-Mo Mytouch) - my big hesitation would be disassembling a phone that's under warranty, which I haven't done before...
...but a little electroplating, and the metal pieces on the back could be copper color (and matching) instead of mismatched shades of grey.. plus white.. plus chrome on the front (which might also be able to be plated).
Don't know if it's worth $100 plus voiding my warranty... though I'm a big fan of customizing things...

Atrix 4G Replacement Parts

Anyone know where I can buy replacement parts for the Atrix 4G?
I was able to pick up an Atrix 4G with a cracked screen (LCD is fine) for $315 on ebay.
Anyone have any parts source?

Haha that site requires him to buy a minimum of 3. At least we know he will have spares.
Nice, I think I'm going to hold out a week or two to see what happens but if not ill jump on it. If anyone else is looking for one of these let me know and I can order it and I would be down to split them up at cost and ship em if you paypal me. I'm paypal verified and have a 100+ ebay rep
wait, r u on at&t? if u r, why buy a used/damaged atrix for $315, which is 115 bucks more than a brand new one on contract? n on top of that, u still have to buy the replacement screen? just doesn't make sense right?

he might of already used his upgrade from at&t or not an at&t customer. 315+60 is a steal for an atrix. you can sell these easily for 500-600. not everyone can get at&t contract price...

I actually used my upgrade to get an Atrix. hadn't upgraded in years because I had a rogers HTC Dream and then I bought the Nexus One straight up. I used to run a little iphone repair business and figure I'll have no problem fixing the Atrix. This is just to make a quick $150-$200
Interested in split-order of Atrix replacement screens
I shattered my screen yesterday. So far local stores have been no help.
I am going to one last store today to see if they can get me a deal on a replacement phone -or at least repairs- . If that doesn't work out, I'll be interested in going in 1/3 on a replacement screen order.

Booooo! I, a poor student, now living abroad and with no contract options, almost bought that same ebay phone and was even talking to the seller when it disappeared. Back when globalparts sold the screen for $50 (but still, minimum order of 3.) But, iFixIt makes it look easy and you should have no trouble finding people to split the screens with (if I lived in the US still, this'd be my strategy.)

Just because its gorilla glass doesnt make it indestructable - you can still scratch and scuff the screen...
You can order the glass on Ebay now. I would get the digitizer also because sometimes its glued in the glass. And dosent come off easily. Would rather just tear it apart once....

when they took apart the atrix they found that the screen was completely separate.
I've ordered replacement parts from www.ccn.cn before and while they aren't always OEM parts, they fit and work regardless. They don't have much of anything for the MB860 at this time though, other than the back cover.
I bought one from ebay a few weeks back but have been busy and then realized i didn't have a torx t5. Ordered a small screwdriver kit for $4 with free prime shipping on amazon.
Just did the replacement. I used adhesive pieces cut from ones for iPhones to seal it on. The teardown was a little bit more difficult than I expected. It will be much easier the 2nd time around but the ifixit really doesn't give any of the details. I noticed I left a small smudge behind the glass/digitizer so I may take it apart to wipe it. If I do I will make a teardown video. The biggest issue was that all of the ribbons are held down pretty firmly by strong adhesives. I was very impressed by the strength of the bezel. Everything worked fine first time I put it back together. I used to fix iPhone screens pretty regularly, I've probably done around 40+ of them, so that experience may have helped.

Be careful: HTC One X - Broken screen

Hey Guys..
Just alittle warning. I dropped my Htc one x from my pocket as i was walking on the street and as you see the glass broke. I am somewhat disappointed, I expected that it could withstand the impact, but no.
Further, i was informed by 3 differnt repair shops that it is impossible to get it repaired because there are no parts made for the phone yet.
One of the guys told me that htc not prioritize this particularly high.
Well i had a nice week with it tho
Ah man that's a real shame I dropped my Desire countless times over the 2 years I had it and it ended up with a 4mm long hairline scratch on the screen. I guess it's the price you pay for the curved glass - less protection round the edges.
Yea i guess i was unlucky. But im back on my old desire now hehe
Might have been alight if you had a case on it.
John.

By the damage it looks like it hit the side, that case will protect against that, he said he wanted something stylish and light.

I was boring so i fount THIS video about repairing the screen.
I could never do that to my OneX, it would break my heart lol But in the video it looks like we have a replaceable battery now we just have to wait that someone makes a battery with the same dimensions and 2500 mAh

Also you can purchase housings for it so if your housing gets cracked or dirty you can replace it.

[Q] Screen/digitizer replacement, recommended seller(s)?

Hi
I'm about to try replace my screen on my OPO. There are just so many sellers, it's hard to choose one.
Either way I need the type A with the keypad light.
Many sellers does not specify wither which type or if it's with or without the keypad lights. And sometimes the picutures of the product does not match.
I'm very intrested of which seller from eBay/Alibaba etc you have bought from and are satiesfied with the product.
I want some recommendations so my buy is somewhat more % to work
Thanks.
I have seen the following suggested: vifocal This includes the screen, digitizer, and frame, so it's an easier job to fix than some other purchases. You will still need a sticker for holding down the battery.
There is also a suggestion at the top of the page that is just the screen and digitizer. It is on Alibaba.

Thanks for answer. The Vifocal one I have seen as well. But there is only 1 reference to it as I can find and the communication/support was not so good either. So it does not feel like a good/safe choice.
The alibaba has only 5 sellings and only 2 reviews and 1 one them says defective so that is not a good/safe choice either
Was hoping that there are confirmed good sellers with working product by XDA people
I have already stripped down my broken phone into pieces and only need a new screen to install.
Buy from vifocal, I bought mine from eBay and it has touchscreen issues. The top half of screen registers 2 touches for on and renders it useless so now I have to purchase another. Alibaba/vifocal I would recommend, no matter where you purchase it will be slow shipping from China just stay away from eBay. Also you can use a or b screen they just have to be threaded through different holes in the frame
Buy it from the links you find in my thread "Replacement parts".

But, I can't really find anyone who can say that the screen from Alibaba works as it should. The seller only sold 5 of them and only 2 reviews and one of them was defective. Does not seem like a safe bet? Or do you have tried the screen from Alibaba or knows someone who can tell?

Too late answer Bought it 3 weeks ago
I have a new OPO as well, the other will be a spare one if lights not working. Could be a defect and return screen? Not a problem with type A or B screen/connector?
Will try my new screen this week.

Will the screen really stuck good with only 3M tape?
I have tired the screen and it seems to work and now to go ahead with the real install.
Will only tape work or need some glue of some kind? Thanks.
I replaced my screen with one from eBay. First lcd didn't work but the next did work ok.
I attached the new screen with double sided tape, which I used a lot for sure.
I got some time today to rebuild my borken OPO!
The screen works perfectly! Even the buttons lights up! Not as well as my new phone but still. Screen is really well responsive.

I have made a full test and the phone works good! I was a bit worried as it was droven over by my car Hehe
I bought from the AliExpress seller.
