I noticed in the galaxy nexus the notification light turns on subtle and soft but on the galaxy s3 the light turns on very instantaneous... how can i mimic that effect on the galaxy s3? (both are currently running jellybean, and the paid light flow app installed)

I know that many of you use the app light flow to control you led notification colors, but I'm trying to avoid using it as it drains battery power.
I noticed that when I get an email from Facebook, my led turns blue (no Facebook app installed) and I just received an email from eBay which turned the led green. I haven't seen any others except the white notification.
Does anyone have a list of stock led colors that don't require extra apps?

I thought the GNex had an LED that at least lit up when charging. Mine didn't, so i took the phone back to the Sprint store. They thought is would have one, too, so they gave me a new one. Well, this new one doesn't have it either.
Now I'm wondering if there is no LED on the Sprint GNex. I get no LED notifications at all. Is this normal?
Have someone send you a gtalk message.
LED -> confirmed.
It is extremely limited. Use something like Light Flow to take full control over it.
But does it light up when you plug your phone in and it is charging?
No, hence my extremely limited comment
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.chatchatmeow.gnl or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.chargingLED for your fix, the Nexus doesn't do it stock.

The LED is basically worthless without an app like Light Flow. It pretty much doesn't light up for anything when stock.
it lights up for missed calls and text notifications when screen is off.
use light flow or galaxy nexus LED apps in the market

On stock rom the light blinks blue for new text (handcent), green for new Google voice mail, white for new Gmail and calls.
Then if you want more you can install light flow or similar.
But no, there is no charging light.
I don't believe mine works, or has ever worked. I didn't even know it had a notification LED until yesterday when a friend showed me on his Galaxy Nexus...also from Verizon. So this makes no sense where is my LED how do I make it work!?
It should just work, there's an option on standard rooms to disable the LED in the display settings. Mine just lit up by default from first use.

Use the app Light Flow to control your LED. It gives you a lot more options than the standard Android one.

I downloaded Light Flow and I have the screen lock on and set it to test all the LED lights. Screen is off but phone remains black, no light whatsoever.
Do you have "pulse notification light" checking in settings>display?
Seen, not saw.

Yes I have it enabled I think I have a faulty device.
I would get a replacement then if your LED isn't working.

i havent' tried light flow, but my led only lights up when my phone is ringing :\
Well, dang. I'm having the same problem. Will download Light Flow and see if that does anything. If not, it's back to Sprint. Sigh.
Hi I can't seem to find a video that confirms that the galaxy note 2 has a led notification light. Can anyone confirm this? Does light flow app work on it like the GS3?
Thanks!

Mine is blinking at me so I'm going to say yes there is a notification light on it. I'm not sure about light flow though since I've never used it (nor used a GS3). I just installed it and it seems to recognize many LED and gives me colors. Now just have to get messages or something to see if it works. ;o) But yes, there are LEDs and no reported problems with light flow yet.:good:
multi-color led notification... download Light Flow from the market and play away my friends
I've seen red, green and blue so that is a big yes on notification lights
if u download blink from the play store u can get Purple ,Light blue and Yellow .
I have a note 7 and i have recently noticed that the vibration of the Note 7 compared to the note 5 or even the galaxy s6 edge plus is different ? As well as i have noticed that the LED indicator seems to be dim when the ambient sensor ins't getting a lot of light and when it is the led indicator is bright ? I guess it controls the LED indicator like how it controls the screen auto bright function to save energy maybe ?
