Does anyone know if there is a newer ICS based AOKP out there that is newer than the July 15 version listed here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753351
I flashed Build 2, 3 and 4 of JB AOKP and my friend's Hercules has had nothing but SOD problems and he's really missing some of the features the ICS AOKP had. He's given up and wants to go back to ICS AOKP.
I just want to make sure I give him the latest version possible. I don't have this particular phone so I don't spend time browsing this phone's subforums.
Thanks!

Milestone 6 is the final version of AOKP, so it's the most up to date in ICS.
On a related note, if you find a download of it, can you PM me a link? I can't find any live links :/

Since I'm new to the Droid incredible 2, I wanna know what others think.
I'm running regular cm9 (aero) rite now and is fine, but I would like more options. I'm forcing my self to not flash ics miui

Honestly, cm9 is probably your best bet. Last I heard, our device specific aokp hadn't been updated in a while. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I run the newest cm9 by areo an miui ics. The newest miui is the smoolest an quickest ICS rom with the .9ics kernel but is harder on the battery than cm9 by areo. Both are really good roms for me aokp is not as smool as either of the other 2.
Aokp has been updated to build 29, which is based off of 4.0.4. It's pretty good overall. Most of the bugs have been worked out. I've ran it for a couple of days now, and really can't complain. Having said that, I restored back to CM9 tonight due to Aeroeven's newest build 4-4-12.
I use Ics reloaded with CM9, so I get most of the custom stuff that I like in Aokp, so really, Aokp and CM9 both work great for me. It's more just a matter of which do I feel like using today.
Digging the 4-04 Aerovan build and the latest Nitsuj MIUI build. I think Aero's build is a tiny bit somoother than the MIUI, but not by too much. Nitsuj is new at MIUI, but these builds of his are getting better and better.
Try them both.
I am still on Caulkin GB Rom, and it is starting to become unstable after 4 months. I decided this is the perfect time to jump ship to ICS.
I want to install a Vanilla ICS Rom, like the one on Galaxy Nexus. Dialer, calendar the whole nine yards. Is there such a thing? I am not too big into the themed roms that are here for download.
I have searched but the only thread I found was back from April and It said they couldn't do it because the source wasn't released yet. But now I know that not to be the truth anymore.
Thank you.

So far there isn't a vanilla ICS ROM. But there is a Vanilla JB ROM that's available for download. Keep in kind it still has some bugs but they're being worked on.

aokp or cm9 are pretty close to what you're looking for, if you want something like a stock nexus you're looking for an AOSP based rom, which those both are... also I know lickarock was working on compiling a pure vanilla AOSP rom, not sure where that stands, you may want to search for his thread in general about it.... lastly scarmon, what is this vanilla jb rom you speak of? I don't recall seeing anything in the dev section about it! My phone is currently wayyy to stable and well set up, its boring, I need to flash something stupid like a half working jb rom to fix that!
Edit: never mind scarmon, found the thread in general, too wet here to golf this weekend, looks like I found a project

I tried searching Google, Miui.us, and on here and I couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know if there are plans or it is being worked on to release a JB Miui rom?

I read somewhere that they are working on it, but I have not found any dates. Some forums said it should only take a couple weeks, but that was posted more than a month ago.
I would like to know how true it would be to the actual jelly bean. As I understand MIUI operated from 2.3 and 4. So does it contain parts from ICS, GB and so on? Or is it simply a mod on ICS? And once it contains JB, will it be a JB rom. Or a hybrid.
Either way.. I too would like to know when MIUI is JB ready.
I am currently using MIUI with a custom kernal and I like it. I am wondering if and when I can use a JB kernal or if I should just leave it as is.
EDIT - now using Xenonhd and air kernal for JB. loving it.
Miui is normally last to the game anyway because of heavy theming!

You'd think I would have figured this out by now, but having been a CM9 loyalist since day one I never bothered to learn what any of the others constitute beyond looking at what their acronyms stood for.
So my questions are as follows:
1) What exactly is the difference between Android Open Source, Android Open Kang, and CyanogenMod? My initial understanding (and this was when I followed the stuff more closely on the HP Touchpad) was that AOSP was built directly from the source Google released, CM9 took it and tweaked it for the specific device, and AOKP piggybacked off that to further tweak. I'm not so sure anymore.
2) Who's developing what? I thought the three branches were distinct but then I see sbrissen and chris seemingly making commits to both CM and AOSP, so I'm a little confused by this.
3) What's receiving the most development right now? I was on CM9 Alpha 6 for the longest time. I was debating from moving to a CM9 nightly or a CM10 beta, but the separate thread for AOSP Jellybean made me wonder what exactly that offered vs CM10. I was tempted to stay on CM9 just because it's been around longer but I haven't seen any "official" updates in awhile (i.e. ones on the e4gt.blogspot.com site--I'm sure the nightlies are official in some sense). Is it still even being worked on by the CM team anymore or have they all jumped ship to CM10 development?
As of right now I just flashed the FH13 ICS Stock onto my phone to see how that works out. When the other roms reach a better level of stability I'll probably move back to one of the CM's, but I wanted some idea of what I'm flashing before I do.
Thanks in advance.

Okay...half-answered one of my three questions...and I kind already knew that.
Thanks anyway.
Google it. You will get your answers. Most pointing to the xda forums.

Cm9 is still being worked on. Chris41g is working on making it officially supported. His nightlies are so much better than alpha 6. I'd recommend upgrading to a nightly if you are on a6. Sbrissens jb aosp is also amazing as well. For me the jump from his alpha 4 to 5 was a huge difference in terms of battery life. I haven't had any los on it or any other problems on it. Recently on one of the alphas (idr which one, probably the latest) he added the status bar toggles so that was a huge plus as well. It still doesn't have the customization of cm10 but it's still amazing.

cm10
Hey everyone,
I just recently started to play with the full capabilities of my phone (just rooted), and I was wondering... I just installed JB from the official Sprint OTA update. Is there any reason to stick with this?
By that I mean, does it fix any bugs present in the AOKP or CM10 builds? And if not, why is CM10 still only being released as nightly?
I would like to try out other ROMs (or even just CM10) but I don't want to have to worry about broken features.
Thanks for any responses.
For the Galaxy nexus, IMO the stock ROM is the best rom, get the deodexed one from bigxie if you want something that'll work forever, BUT if you want customization you might want to get another ROM like ParanoidAndroid, JBsourcery or AOKP
Stock is the latest and greatest codename android and cm10 when they are updated with 3U's binaries and if /when cna is based off of 3U will have more options than stock
