This randomly started a few days ago. My contacts and email seem to be syncing just fine, but my calendar isn't. I've done a clean wipe and re flashed ROMs, but I can't even add my Google account after doing that (can't establish reliable connection, or similar message).
Everything else works fine, so I'm at a loss. I've tried multiple ROMs and gapps and kernels, but nothing fixes it. Could my specific Google account be messed up somehow?
Thanks!

Yep I can browse https without problems. It's weird because email and contacts are syncing even though it shows that error. The bad part is that my calendar won't sync.

I found a possible solution for that trouble, try this and let me know:
1. Turn off sync google calendar
2. got to settings ->apps -> manage apps -> all
3. find calendar storage -> clear cache -> clear
4. find calendar sync (settings-> accounts and sync->click on gmail and turn off sync)
5. Reboot Phone
6. Re-enable Sync

Well I tried it, but unfortunately it didn't help. Also, I have done a completely clean wipe, so it sure seems to be a Google problem. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I am currently running an FC07 rom and under the Google sync settings there is one called Sync internet. This always fails. What exactly does that sync?

Internet Sync
This works with your Google+ account. It will sync your pictures from there. They took away Facebook sync because it was a violation to Android TOS.
the solution is here

its the sync settings in chrome!
In google chrome settings via a computer, There is a hyperlink to google dashboard. Go there and down to Chrome Sync, Reset and delete chrome data. Then in Chrome settings reset sync and do NOT set it to "encrypt all data" just use the fist option "encrypt with password",
Problem fixed.
just to clarify...
It syncs your open tabs in cromebrowser as well as your bookmarks cross platforms... so from every device you run chrome browser on and are logged in to your account.
ps. would like to know if my posts helped.... reporting back or a thank you would be appreciated.
Hi somehow since few days now my calendar doesn't want to sync anything from past events a part for last month. When I go to web version of the calendar all the events are there even from 2yrs back but ics doesn't want to sync it somehow. Is it just me or does anyone have the same problem???

Check to see if "hide declined events" is checked under settings > general settings. It should be the first option.

Nope had it like that all the time .... all entries disappeared today everything was fine let's say yesterday ..

Probably a long shot... but how did you set up your time zone?
For example I had calendar widget problems when fetching from network, but manually it worked fine
Try clearing the data from the calendar app and then sync it again. I had that problem with a different phone and clearing data worked for me.

Timezone is on default settings in calendar on phone it's network provided.
Clearing data from calendar doesn't help.
If I have an entry on calendar via web browser its there and I can clearly see it. It doesn't show in the android calendar, however, if I add something in the same day through the web browser this and the previous even in that day will show in the phone. So wtf is wrong with it???

I had a problem where my several of my Google calendar just wouldn't appear no matter what (manually triggering auto-sync, uncheck and recheck Calendar sync, etc.), and toggling around the settings even caused ALL my calendars to disappear at one point.
Yesterday I finally figured out to force-stop and wipe the data for Calendar and Calendar Storage, and then letting Calendar resync. Works brilliantly.

I just got my scmexy new Galaxy S III from Bell. Everything works great except email sync. For whatever reason it simply refuses to even fetch the email and as a result there is no notification upon the arrival of a new message. The only time it will show the email is if I open Gmail and manually refresh.
Is anyone else having this issue?
I also from time to time get "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped." I don't know if this is a related issue but I can only assume. I normally get that message when I open the browser, but I can force the error by enabling and disabling sync.
I am on a Rooted Stock Rom with no further modifications. Keep in mind this was happening before root.

Its seems to be something with the sync interval, but I am at a loss on how to chnage it.

It is indeed checked. I must note that all my other services sync fine. Calender, picasa web all that good stuff. It is just Gmail. I seem to be receiving the notifications now but they are severely delayed now.
I'm thinking the problem lies with the Sync Frequency. I know on my i9000 I could set the frequency manually (i.e. 1minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, Sync Off) but I don't seem to be able to locate that menu now.
Turn off Internet sync to get rid of gapps fc issue. Internet sync, syncs bookmarks to stock browser.

I can't figure it out, Gapps is royally farked. I can't send emails in it either and now it is refusing to connect to any Google Services. I have tried on LTE, HSPA, WiFi and (just for kicks) GSM
Here's what I did because Sync uses battery life.
- removed Gmail app.
- opened the stock email app
- entered my gmail credentials in and select manual setup
- leave everything the same but in the server, enter m.google.com
and voila, you'll have push email instead of syncing at different intervals.
Intesting. I completely forgot about Push Email, which would explain the Sync Interval thing. Gmail's app uses push. Since GAPPS isn't connecting properly, I guess I know what my issue is.
Sigh, I hate resets

Any issues?
Nope! none at all! I'm using it with This Kernel and it's awesome!
my wife is using CM9 on her Note and it's super stable..

How is the Battery Life compared to stock?
I couldn't tell you, I bought the phone new, powered it on once for about 10 seconds and rooted / cm9 lol
you can undervolt the CPU to save battery life, there is also a governor that you can set it to so that it reduces batt consumption.
I'd try it, you have nothing to lose.
I've had this gmail issue from time to time. I usually can fix it but going to settings - applications - all - gmail - clear data and clear cache. Give it a shot

I have tried syncing my contacts today because I noticed the newest one hasn't shown up on my google account yet, but for some darn reason the phone freezes for a bit and shows "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
In sync settings I only have Sync Contacts checked, nothing else. If I sync other things I don't have any issues.
When in sync settings and I check and uncheck the box it will sync in 2 seconds, when I sync it again it will do so for 30 seconds, the error will pop up and close itself then stop syncing. In accounts and sync it will freeze for a while and show the popup which I have to close myself.
My phone is rooted running 4.0.3. I also have ~5000 contacts (that includes g+,facebook, numbers, emails)
What can I do to fix this? It's getting on my nerves.
Clear the data for your google contact within settings. See if it helps.

I've cleared data for Google Service Framework, Google Contacts Sync and cleared dalvik cache.
Which one is the Google contacts app? Contacts Storage? Won't clearing it erase all my contacts??
Back up the data first. I had a similar problem before when my contact storage reached over 1 GB, which is bogus, caused by program bug. Clear the storage solved my problem.
Contacts can be back by you're google account, if you have one

That seems to have worked. Thanks!
I updated from ICS to rooted JB using DoomLord's method 2 days ago. Since then, Gmail is syncing only very intermittently.
I have Gmail set to sync in my Google account settings, and also in the actual Gmail app's own account setting section, I don't have Extended Standby Mode enabled.
On the few occasions when I have received an email in the app, I've only found it when opening the app itself, as I've not had a notification.
In previous versions, I'd get a Gmail notification immediately if I sent an email from, say, my work PC. Not anymore, though.
Is anyone else having this problem? Has the push Gmail functionality broken in the JB update?
Nope... My Gmail sync works normally..
Have you enabled "Auto Sync data" option in Data Usage settings..?

Yes, I do have "Auto-sync data" enabled in the Data Usage settings.
This is really annoying. Even when I click the Refresh button in the Gmail app, it does not sync the new emails After doing this, and then going into the Account settings for Google, it shows a really old time for Lasy Sync on Gmail.
Any other ideas, anyone?

Wipe? I backed up my apps and wiped the data then restored using titanium backup. No bug except laggy 1080p video recording.
