Member the GT-i9260 which is similar to the current Nexus.
Well it's the Samsung Galaxy Premier running TouchWiz.
This thread is for people who still has faith in the "5 Nexus phone" rumor.

Looks like Sony got something going. They seem to be building a Nexus. Could be fake though.
Edit: Sony nexus confirmed by Hoaxer himself that it is indeed fake.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
Well we've kinda known this for a while, its just that no one was listening... There was never a single piece of convincing evidence that the i9260 was a Nexus, and it was pretty decently leaked that it was a TouchWiz phone.
I've never believed the "5 Nexus" BS.
But this thread is for people (as I stated) that are holding on to this rumor for dear life to ditch the LG Nexus 4 or LG Optimus Nexus.
And a link is there so they don't continue to hold on to it. Cuz I'm getting tired of reading this, "I hope Sony makes a Nexus. LG sucks." Or something similar. :sly:

I never bought into five devices. It seemed like something someone only wanted to be true.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
There's already 3 devices on the Play Store. With the LG Nexus that makes 4. It isn't unreasonable that they will have a 5th before the end of the year so I don't see how the rumor was wrong.
Nexus 7
Nexus Q
LG Nexus
Nexus 10
?????
Yeah, this rumor was also out last year. Multiple nexus devices, wasn't true and probably isn't now.

didn't the stupid ass rumor start off saying the 5 nexus was for the top 4 carriers and the fifth one was straight from google unlocked. then it changed to some far fetching idiotic rumor about all these nexus coming out. how the hell am i supposed to make a call with a nexus Q? or the tablets? its ok for people to believe but damn don't go around spreading rumors about something with no hard facts or credible sources. it just ruins it for everyone else

Huh? All Play Store devices are unlocked. We are talking about what Google was going to put on the Play Store. It has nothing to do with carriers.
I'm just not a fan of the phone looking the same for the past 3 years.
I'm moving on purely on the notion of aesthetics. I'll miss the pure experience though. Form is finally catching up to function though with Android.

Go for it, the only good thing about it is the camera.
I'll hold judgement on the LG Nexus, usually their software is what makes the phone horrible, but if the battery life is good and the build quality is at least decent, it'll be fine.

It would be really stupid for google to do that because it would completely ruin the nexus name as being the bar setter for that OS which is what google has always referred the nexus devices to be, also sprint confirmed (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) that it will ship with a 1.2 Ghz processor

This just isn't Google's way. They release a Nexus 1 time per year. They wouldn't trump their Nexus with a tiny spec bump 4 months later.
Whoever made up that photo has pissed off a lot of people. This has got to be fake. Google is not this stupid.

Its not a fake photo. It may however be a spoofed. The Sprint GN will probably be released around June, a half year+ after the original release. I think its more stupid of Google to release a half year old phone to such a supportive carrier (only carrier with GV integration and official Google Wallet) than to refresh the specs and piss off some users. You would have had it for months, and it will likely be unavailable on other carriers anyway.

It could be the first Galaxy Nexus was rushed prior to the newer version of the OMAP chip being ready. Now that the chip is ready I could see Samsung using the newer chip with future production.

Haven't looked at the photo, but if this is true (which I doubt it is), it's probably for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus.

Good lord, the intarwebs are ablaze with this story already:
http://www.google.com/search?q=galaxy nexus sgx544
I don't know what to think about this one. On one hand, it seems like plenty of sites and people have been complaining that the hardware specs should have been buffed a little bit, so I could see it happening. On the other hand, this seems like an incredibly unpopular thing for Google to do.
I was about to pull the trigger on buying one tomorrow, now I think I'll hold off until the dust settles on this story.
Additionally, it would be pretty f'd up for them to release a clearly superior model on Sprint and give the finger to the Verizon and GSM unlocked versions.
My opinion: Not going to happen.
Galaxy Nexus is fast enough (and will get faster with Android 4.1, 4.2, 4.5 ...) and there's no reason for Google to do this at all.

its been a little over a month since the gnex was release this is a stupid move, if they did that, i would be seriously pissed =/
Everyone nows google ****ed it up with the camera on the galaxy nexus, they should have used the SAME camera module found on the galaxy s ii (which is great) , a fgaster cpu/gpu would be nice too, 1280x720 are a lot of pixels to push , i think there's a 50/50 % of this happening, i kinda would like it , if there's a galaxy nexus s coming , they're gonna show it in the mwc at the end of this month.

Same goes for the Nexus S on AT&T. There's no reason for Google to fragment their Nexus line, and piss off their loyal customers. Google really has no real gain in doing a refresh, so why would they. They chose these specs to offer a specific experience with their devices, not be apart of some spec war. The most Sprint customers would get differently is a slightly bigger battery; I don't expect anymore than that.

It's not Google that does this. This is entirely Samsung's doing and Samsung own a lot of rights for this phone. Samsung got their name on the phone, they got it called 'Galaxy Nexus' instead of 'Nexus Prime' that was the original name and it made some deals with some carriers for customized versions of Galaxy Nexus.
Sadly it is out of Google's hands.
I'm using a google phone (galaxy nexus) and I knew some the other such as: nexus one or nexus S. I read in somewhere the next device will product by LG. So in my opinion the name of new device can be : Optimus nexus . anyone have another idea?
megatron nexus
If it was:
ASUS: Nexus Prime
LG: Optimus Nexus
Sony: Experia Nexus
HTC: Nexus One X
Motorola: XY Nexus
Samsung: Nexus Note
Well these are my guesses at least
Nacho nexus.
Iphone. Helping computer illiteracy get popular since 2007.
if any good ideas come from out of this, be sure to patent it first
Goonex.....
If Apple makes it the iNexus.
But it will infringe on too many of their own patents and therefor they will never allow themselves to release it.
I kinda like the thought of an Optimus Nexus and I loathe LG.
Truth be told, I half expect it to go back to HTC. The next Nexus needs to go back to a MicroSD slot though.
I personally don't care what the name of the device is. They can name it Nexus Untitled and I'd still get it.

It intrigues me the fact that you can find the galaxy nexus online in amazon, new egg, negrielectronics for 450-470 $, the galaxy s ii which is at least 6 months older is more expensive, have the nexus sales been low? Maybe its because of the camera? The common folks don't wanna buy a " 5 mp camera in a phone, the iPhone has an 8 mp camera " has Samsung released the number of sales for the nexus?

It's only released in a few carriers. I don't think any Nexus line has been widely available and has always been a small user base.
It's timing was also terrible.
But really it's not a flop because it wasn't intended to be the bread and butter flag bearer of the android system, that belongs to the OEM's flagship devices. Pretty sure Google isn't interested in alienating the other OEMs.

Although keep in mind as of recently Google dropped support of the LTE (toro) build of the phone.
But you also have to keep in mind that the GSII is on pretty much every major carrier in the world now, which I'm not sure about the rest of the world but at least in the US has been very slow in terms of more carriers selling the phone (Verizon didn't get it until December, and Sprint's is going to start sometime soon).

I wouldnt say its a developer phone... I would say its a developer preferred phone because its vanilla.
I still think its aimed at the general user as well.
And the nexus is just pure awesome. It hasnt been a flop for me
If it was a so called developer phone, it wouldnt be on sale to the public and advertised to the masses. It has developer settings but that seems part of ICS as a whole and even if it wasnt, it has no bearing on whether the phones a flop.
I havent seen anyone else with the phone where i live but I wouldnt call it a flop.
As for the phone itself, its a 6/10 phone masquerading as a premium device.
haha... sorry i had to start laughing on reading this thread^^
Before i got my galaxy nexus i had an Galaxy S2 and a Galaxy Note. And i have never been as satisfied as with my gnex.
I don't like Samsung's TouchWiz
i don't like their silly gestures in android that make no sense. (for example: shaking the phone for searching for bluetooth devices)
and so on...
The gnex is so smooth in everything i do even with the slower CPU.
If someone is still von Android 4.0.1... mhm... how to upgrade manually?
There is no KIES, just Odin and CWM... so upgrading is easy.
The GNex is no flop it's just Top!
This is a developer phone because:
Unlocking and locking the device manual is on Google dev page
If you mess something up you go on Google dev page download appropriate files and voila
Its the; only high end device on the market right now that uses only stock android
And most importantly all the software updates come from maker of the os and jot the carrier

None of those things change the fact that it's ALSO a consumer phone. As someone in this thread mentioned earlier, the Nexus is the developer-preferred device. Google has provided those features for developers to take advantage of if they wish. However, the phone is still aimed at consumers. It's aimed at the same people who buy iPhones, through promotions and advertising campaigns. Look at the Nexus adverts - do they mention 'stock android'? 'easily unlock your bootloader'? 'Factory images available to download'? No. 'Calling all pretty faces, now you can unlock your phone with a smile'.
It's sold free on contract with a large number of networks ('carriers') around the world.
And that's the way it's been since the Nexus S. It's time you people stop this 'developer phone, it's not meant for the general public!' stuff. It's simply not true.
Does it even matter how much marketshare the GNex has? I think the phone is great, it works fantastic for me .. I don't care how many phones have been sold (I only know one other person that has one, and he bought it on my recommendation) as long as it's what I want in a phone. Which it is.
You should go troll in iPhone forums and complain about the "walled garden" or something.
Hey,
Who do you guys think will be the manufacturer for the next Nexus device. I'm reading reports that there will be multiple OEM's for the nexus and I for one don't want that to happen. One Cutting edge nexus device per year should be the norm, preferably made by Motorola or Samsung. I don't like the current Samsung Galaxy Nexus, even though I have one, the updates are taking ages and Verizon is putting the blame on Samsung. group messaging is non existent on Galaxy devices for the native messaging app. I heard LG 'might' be making it with a 1.5 Quad core processor with a 2 GB ram in it, and 13 MP camera. Let's hope that's true.
Decipher
There are already many discussions about the next Nexus device going...

Vaj tswv is the creation of people with nowhere left to turn
Clearly there will be 2 or 3 Nexus phones from different manufacturers. This lets Google have more than one design and since they are all about options and being open, it makes total sense. It also creates a little competition for manufacturers to put forth a better design. Keeping Samsung and just one phone again would just mean they would throw out some boring design again so it doesn't compete with the Galaxy S III. But now that will not be the case.
Not sure how vz is blaming Google for the slow updates at this point. The fact sprint is officially updated pretty much proves that vz is not allocating an acceptable amount of resources to jb.
I agree that 1 nexus a year as the sole benchmark device makes sense but in all honesty, with the whole Samsung suit and the way ICS really matured android I think we will start to see more and more aosp devices nexus and otherwise.

I wouldn't want more than one OEM. If only one OEM, Samsung, is taking this long to update the Galaxy Nexus, two or more Nexus phones are going to be a hassle for google to keep updating. I think they should let either Motorola work their magic with the humongous battery, or let HTC design a futuristic Nexus based on the One X. I absolutely love One X, too bad Verizon doesn't carry it.

What do you mean taking this long? The GN was updated to JB just weeks after JB was announced. Having more OEMs will not make the process longer. If you are talking about CDMA carriers, then that is an issue with Sprint and Verizon and will not make a difference whether there are one or three Nexus phones.

The main problem is , in my country i cant order phone from playstore therefore the nexus 4 will cost me around $450 ~ $500.
Whereas the samsung galaxy nexus will cost around $300 ~ $320 so if you guys can tell me is there any advantage of nexus 4 over galaxy nexus (in term of apps availablity) i means if apps in android store will lag on dual core and run smooth on quad core or both can run anything smootly so if you guys please tell me i will be thankful

If you can afford the Nexus 4, go with the Nexus 4. Pretty much every app on the Play Store will run fine on the Galaxy Nexus except some of the NEW high end games but your need for a possible development phone, more battery life and a decent camera suggest you are better served by the Nexus 4.
You pretty much answered your own question with the "possible app development" remark because if you are doing that, you will only be left behind if you don't have the latest developer phone.
If you have the money, then get the Nexus 4. If you're short on money, save some more and get the Nexus 4.

haven't encountered a single game that won't run on gnex and I play a lot.
I prefer gnex. the glass back, LCD display, etc.... all keep me from really wanting to get the nexus 4. especially after how easily it broke in the verge review
I feel like nexus 5 will be something I'll really want

I'm sticking with the Gnex as well because of the glass and the fact that I don't really play games. The Nexus 5 or whatever its called is going to be my jewel next year.
Im just waiting nexus 5 on htc,
For now it will be better sticking with galaxy nexus,
Since many dev for the rom, it doesnt matter quad or dual for me.

a little more careful?
guaranteed you'll see lots of broken phones after tiny little drops (which happen to all of us).
it's a stupid design.imo
I'll be sticking to my GNex. Upgrading a phone is me going from my Nexus One to a Galaxy Nexus. Going from a Galaxy Nexus to a Nexus 4 is not an upgrade imo - it's just about having the latest phone, hype, etc. There really isn't anything out there for myself that's going to get developed for me to require a Nexus 4.
Glass back? How many people are going to spend more than 10 seconds to look at the back of the phone to acknowledge it looks cool. Not worth the trouble of tip-toeing around with it so it doesn't drop and break, and I assure you many will drop their N4 and many will have broken glass. I'm surprised that the glass even broke. Isn't it supposed to be Gorilla Glass 2? I'm probably mistaken because from videos I've seen of GG2, it doesn't look like something that would crack from a subtle drop to the floor, but who knows.

it's scratch resistant not crack resistant
if you have no nexus device > nexus 4
if you have already the galaxy nexus > dont buy it
If i were you Shah.. I would go for the Galaxy Nexus.. First of all you stated your reasons of why you wanted to buy a phone + you have a little budget constraint.. The only solution to that is..buy a Galaxy Nexus...However, i do love that sexy looking Nexus 4 though, But just like ip4, etc.. it will be facing some problems with the back cracking etc.. But then again, how many of us goes around without buying a casing for our phones? And as far as gaming is concern. The galaxy Nexus can handle all the latest games so far, except for maybe tegra 3 games. Dual core phones aren't yet outdated. (you can check out reviews for Galaxy S3 quadcore vs dual core, basically the same thing) Cheers~ i hope i helped..Good luck in making your decision bro!
