I need help! My Wildfire won't turn on, screen and red light flashes but no boot screen???
I was updating my Wildfire S and all went well but when it try to reboot it stuck on flashing blank screen and flashing red light. I cannot get into anything (Bootloader, Recovery etc). Only way I can stop flashing is to take out the battery but when I insert it back and push power button it starts flashing again. I can't get into anything.
I searched for last three days and didn't see anybody having same problem. I would really appreciate any help. Hard brick has been described in Google as no respond from phone (no lights nothing etc.) so I am hoping (and praying) there could be something done based on the symptoms.
What kind of flashing? Does the phone vibrate at all? What was your bootloader version and were you s-off?

I would take it back to htc and tell them that it died during an official update. If you were s-off you might have been able to do something about it. Sorry bud

Same for me !
Exactly the same for me ... grey flashing screen with red LED after try to update with RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed.exe
Any news ?:crying:
It's hardbrick. If u r soff u could jtag to fix it.
What happened is, u removed battery/some error caused not to update, after updating one radio/hboot the other hboot/radio. As radio hboot comes as pairs, one can't live without the other. So your radio is killed by the bootloader. And the phone is dead.
I posted around one hundred comments about this. Nobody listens.
Don't go to latest radio/ hboot from 0.90.0000. Do step by step. As the latest hboot/radio isn't compatible to oldest.

You can JTAG without s-off. Its just the cost of one will probably outweigh the price of the phone. You could try taking it to a repair shop And asking if they do JTAG repairs. You might find someone willing to do it for a reasonable price.

S-on cannot fight against the JTAG. It would be completely counter productive for htc to make their devices protected from the devices they use to fix damaged phones. JTAG takes control of the CPU and can force new firmware onto the nand. S-on or s-off, shouldn't make a difference as the JTAG is mounted to the motherboard of the device and can actually "trap" the processes that the CPU issues and issue them one at a time! JTAG is the man when it comes to bricked device revival

You guys don't know what you are talking about :d As for op question if you still got waranty go take it there. Otherwise I think it would cost around 30 euro to get it fixed. Nothing else can be done.

I am experiencing that crappy screen flickering issue, its just annoying. Updated to 1.29,no luck.
I ordered the International version and got it from France. I am in the US.
Can someone tell me what do I have to do to get it replaced? I am still under 20 days since I got it.
Thanks

Contact your retailer and ask for a return, they should class it as DOA. Just explain the issue to them.

According to a thread HTC says flickering is a software issue and will be fixed with next OTA

They say that but I didn't even have it on .126 UK on o2, so it can't always be software.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I notice flickering only on lowest brightness whilst taping on the screen... Do I finding annoying? Not really... But cannot return my phone coz i have rooted it through htcdev. If there will be an official announcement that it's hardware then I'll smash my phone over the wall and claim replacement through my insurance
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
wait a minute, so what does replacement cover? I mean, under what circumstances can I actually get a replacement?
And I am pretty sure its not software related. I started of with 1.26 or 27 can't remember.. then updated to 1.28, and now on 1.29.. it is still doing the same ol crappy flickering

If you unlocked your bootloader you warranty is gone, although it says "may" on the website will leave HTC open to law suites.
I would do as above "drop" my phone claim off insurance.

HTC is saying flickering will be fixed with next OTA (next after 1.29).
HTC already warned that their "may" means "will"

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.
from my experience with the one x and vodaphone staff they wouldnt have a clue one of them told me to to a system reboot and then i would need to connect it to a pc as she had wiped the rom i said oh thanx for the help and hung up not very savy when it comes to the one x defo not

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

Its with my bank now and ive not used them yet. It used to be with Vodafone and they used to just replace with a new handset if it was beyond repair.
I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.

In the 1st 6 months the seller must prove you caused the fault before denying a remedy. After 6 months its vice-versa
Unless they can demonstrate unlocking caused any issues, you're covered by the Sales of Goods Act

Well i am experiencing abnormal behaviour on my HOX....the network only show for 5 sec and then goes off....then again after sometime the signals come but again for 5 sec....so short story i want to send my hox to htc for repair...but the bootloader is unlocked...the phone is rooted and is running a custom rom...what should i do to make it look completely like stock....how do i relock my bootloader?? And which stock ruu should i flash..and after doing all this, will htc would know that my phone was ever rooted or the bootloader was unlocked.... Thanks..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I'm pretty sure you can't "relock" your bootloader, HTC keep records of which phones have been unlocked through htcdev.com so even if you do manage to go back to stock, they will still know that it has been unlocked at some point.
You can relock your bootloader, but it will say relocked so htc will know about it. Are you sure its hardware fault though? Have you tried flashing another ROM/kernel?

May it can switch to bootloader.
I'm asking for hboot and son/off.
Waiting for reply.
Is this a softwer or hardwer problem?
Any solution to repair this?
Pls reply me as fast as u can.

It's likely to be software. Does it say **UNLOCKED** in the top line of bootloader?
Sent from my One X
By the sounds of it its in a bootloop, which probably means someone tried to flash it but failed.
Its fixable but I'd check if it boots to bootloader first as said above:
Hold power and Volume Down to boot to bootloader.
Soon I got some pic from the bl.
Btw, thanks for fast reply

And if they find out it was tampered with , can they charge me on my bill?? im on my way to work and wanted to go after work (6pm, and they close at 8pm) Should i worry?
Thanks In advance and sorry for the question, i just really need help...:good:

Why don't you just try? It's not like they'll call the cops on you; the worst they can do is refuse the return. It's also very unlikely that the associates know how to get into the bootloader in the first place, so it probably won't even come up.
How do I return my HTC one m8 back to stock to exchange I'm having battery issues and I have rooted unlocked boot loader and am running venom Rom and am s-on still ??

You just have to look for a basic stock rom and flash that. As long as looks like basic stock, the reps in the store won't notice (or look for) evidence that it's rooted. Carriers (especially T-Mobile and Sprint) generally don't care.
Can I just flash my backup I did a backup before flashing the venom Rom?

I dont think that would happen, I have returned a few mytouch phones way back when after having custom roms and nothing has happened. That was many years ago tho and I am not sure if HTC has changed any policies on that since then.
I just went in to tmobile just to figure out if they had any in stock., spoke with a salesman about the restock fee...and he said there is no voiding it unless, they run a diagnosis on the phone but it's unlocked and tampered...should I take the chance and tell them to run it?
