No Mobile Network while Charging - HTC One X

Hello Guys,
a good friend has now his HTC One X. His Problem: When he is charging his battery, the signal suddenly is gone. There is a red cross (x) and he needs to restart his mobile phone to fix it. This happend after he updated his mobile phone with an official update from HTC. So now he asked me, but I have an Galaxy S from Samsung and never had this problem.
So is there a fix for this or does ne need to flash a new OS on his HTC? Thanks for help
Best Regards,
blauersalon
(I'm very sorry for my bad English, I'm German )

Happens only when charging or all the time? I use to get this as well but that was because my sim was faulty. It would randomly show as no sim inserted.
Get him to try another sim if he has one or try the current sim in another phone to rule out sim issues. Otherwise it might not be sitting correctly in the sim tray.

I also thought about that, but this only happens when he is charging the mobile phone. I explain it:
- Plug in the Cable into a car adaptor, pc or electrical socket
- Mobile phone is charging
- after 20-60 seconds the mobile network is gone and market with a red cross
- Plug off the Cable -> Mobile network does not come back untill he reboots it

Very odd but try a new sin card though. Maybe some kind of electrical interference. Very odd though.

I also have to say, that everything was fine before the update from HTC. Maybe a software fault?

Tell him to reflash again but from stock RUU. If it was a software fault others would encounter it as well.

Help ! Xda Orbit (ARTE200) - No Sim Detected

Something strange happened to my Artemis, I was charging the phone with the original charger, whilst the phone was turned on.
I may have left it charging a few hours longer even after the charge light turned green.
I removed it from the charger, then it intermitently displayed no service, and then searching for network, and remained in service for a few minutes and then it repeated the whole process for about 5 - 6 times and then it displayed "No Sim"
The sim card works on other phones, but no matter whatever sim card i put into the artemis, it still cannot detect any of them.
I tried bending the contacts up a bit to help connection, and even tried slipping paper behind the sim card to push the sim card into the contacts more
nothing worked, I am not sure what else to do other than re-flash the rom,
has anyone experienced similar problems, please. I really want to get the phone function/sim detection working again.
Cheers
Change simcard i have the same problem with my XDA Orbit ( HTC Artemis)

how long have you had the phone? if no sim works i'd of thought the phone has had it
mine started going funny as i was switching between o2 and orange sims a lot, after a while it had difficulty finding the sim, but always worked after inserting/removing the sim a few times
i had my phone warranty repaired with o2, considering i'd already renewed my contract was surprised they still did it, but 2 years is 2 years warranty thats the only thing i can think of?
ive had this prob with my orbit,i ended up hard reseting the phone for it to recognise the sim

Losing signal on my HOX

This is weird. When I woke up I restarted my HOX and suddenly signal kept dropping. Keeps saying preparing sim card. What could be causing this? I don't want to keep factory resetting. Seems to be a really great phone but now I don't know if I should return it. Please if anyone can help.

are you using a call blocker? I was getting weird issues when using root call blocker. I had to uninstall it, had read from the app devs they are working on the problem

mine is still stock, but I only had problems after I updated 2-3 days ago
had really great signal before upgrade... havent tried restoring fabric settings, but am searching for custom rom, and will try that out
Already happened to me three times where suddenly "preparing sim card" appears and I lose signal. Had to hard reset all the time. Unfortunately, htc shops here in the Philippines are crap. They say they have to send it to service center even if the phone is a week old. For what? So they open it up? I don't want to have a week old phone opened and fixed. I want a replacement.
Have the phone for 2 week now, and today i also faced this problem for the first time T_T (running stock 1.28)
Just great, first the yellow spots that didn't went away and now this problem on top of it ?
I hope it was a coincidence and hope i won't get worse.
I had my microSIM replaced and so far, crossing my fingers, signal has been full almost all the time. I just had the original SIM cut before, so I hope that was just the problem.
I've read about sim cards been cut to micro sim been a possible cause.

Similar fault here with factory micro Sim

In Slovenia one carrier has this problem. Only SIM cards older than 2 years work so it is a SIM problem. When I asked them about when they will solve this they told me it's HTC's problem and that HTC is working on the problem. Maybe the next update will fix it. SIM cards of other carriers work ok. So if you can, try cards from other carriers. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd be grateful. I don't want to switch my carrier because other two's 3G network is [email protected]

sim card not connected

I have just one big gripe with the hox and that is that a few times per day the sim card is not recognised anymore and I have to reenter the PIN. In the known issues I saw it mentioned. Does anyone know if my device is at fault or if it is a sim fault or some software issue. (the problems occurs with both stock and custom roms)
Get a proper sim and try it.

the sim is a proper sim microsim, I just bought
I just got a new sim, had to get all upset and angry at the Vodafone store to get it without having to pay for it but the problem still persists
no one has any ideas on how to fix this? or even if my phone is defect or if it is a software bug?
No one with this problem? Today it just happened about 6 or 7 times in a row, I tried to reboot the device, even turning of fastboot but the problem persisted; The device felt warm (just warm, not hot) and the battery seems to have drained a lot with most of it drained by screen (42%) but also mobile standby (23%) with 21% left.
I have the opposite problem mine is all the disconnected and connects some times
I think it might be the same issue, which carrier are you on?
I'n On Maxix Malaysia
Is this the same problem?

no, I am losing sim and therefor connection but the problem is with the sim, not network per se.

SIM card not detected - then detected again

My phone is constantly failing to detect the sim card, usually if I restart the phone or leave it for enough hours it will "find" it again.
Short of reflashing it I'm not sure if there's any way to determine if this is a software or hardware issue. The phone itself is a refurbished one (thanks to the phones insurance replacing it a few months ago), however it is now out of warranty. If it was a hardware fault, how much would it probably cost?
Thanks, Shaun.
The first thing I'd try is a different SIM card or a different SIM card insert (bit of plastic that the SIM sits in).
Has this always happened since you've had the phone?
or
Has it happened since you flashed the phone?
As for the price of repair I haven't a clue (i do all repairs myself), but my guess is in excess of £150
You may want to provide more information before other, more experienced people, come to your aid.
It's slowly gotten worse over the last few months (the first couple of times I just thought it was a once off bug or something, which is why it's very difficult for me to give you an exact when it happened).
The fact that its gotten worse in itself is leading me to guess its a hardware fault - I could have knocked or dropped it and not remember or something.
I don't have any other SIMs but I'll give flashing it to a different ROM or stock a shot first.

I feel as if that is your best best before you go throwing money at it.
Good luck!
Does the phone say no sim card (with icon) or do you lose service?

It has done both, the latter's slightly more common though. Probably more often than both it will momentarily drop out, then come up with a "Preparing SIM card..." message.
Still happening after flashing it with a different ROM. Looks like it's probably hardware :/
Might be coxicial cable that connects the pcb with antenea board they do come off from time to time

Hi there,
i have a similar problem with my device:
network disconnects sometimes (for some reasons ok, as example when i sit in the underground or other places without gsm network) - but then the services doesnt comes back - i'm complete offline. next behavior: i'm just talking with full gsm bandwidth, and for really no reason i get disconnected -> no network anymore, no service anymore.
can it be a hardware fault or should i try to flash the modem (when possible) ? I'm on the latest HTC firmware, device isnt rooted or flashed... it is as i got it from the market.
thanks for a hint what i can try
See above could be that, what network you on?

I'm on GSM (in Germany the O2 network)
maybe the network fault can be solved:
just have read in the vodafone forum in uk and found a hint from a user, who was taping the back side of the SIM card with 2 stripes of plastic.
Have tried this and report tomorrow here if it solves the issue
Tested with taped SIM card and i can say: it works like a charme

no reception on my one..

Hey i've a T-Mobile Branded HTC One M8 one stock Firmware but rooted.
since New Years Eve i got no reception with any sim card.. (Vodafone DE, Eplus DE)
it has a little dent on the back since new years eve.
I opened the device, but all connections were nice and nothing was damaged inside.
What can i do?
If it suddenly stopped with no changes at all to software... And it's dented suddenly.... I'd say it was damaged surely.
Unless something software wise changed?
Or its a Sim card or carrier issue.
But it was obviously banged hard or dropped. I'd be taking it to a service center.
Good luck!
Take out the SIM card and try it on another phone. Since its T-Mobile branded; I would check the imei to make sure that's working from its end http://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx.

There are some locations where i habe reception.
I had LTE there, but wasn't able to call..
And i wrote an SMS and it works...
Edit: Ordered a new BackCover to change it. hope it will work :/

If you've got it opened, check if there are any pins that stand up and connect to the back cover.
There are usually a couple for the antennas, and they might have gotten bent down when the cover was dented.
Pry them up gently and try it again.
