I noticed that this is a feature for low light focus on the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy SIII.
Is it me or its not available on the One X?
I've installed serveral AOSP roms thinking it may work like on the GNexus but it doens't, this is a very cool feature for low light focus.

Is it me is does this low light sensor really temperamental?
Right now I'm trying to get it to activate in a low light room using the video camera and still, but nothing seems to be happening
When I first got the Arc it was running 3 network branded software, and I'm sure it worked then when I tried it out, but since I've flashed the global generic it takes pictures like any other camera in the dark (not very well)
Something sure is that the Arc is the best photo phone in low light condition i never had.
Remember with other phone, when light is not high, it's very difficult to focus because the image move very slowly (i don't know how to explain...).
It's not a useless gadget it's sure.
You really have to use all the options the camera app has to offer. Meaning focus modes, scenes, light sensivity and so. If you do so, the results will be very good. Video is a little easier because there is a very strong algorythm to prevent noise. Unfortunately it will also reduce sharpness quite a lot.
Hi,
I got my One X yesterday. I have to say it looks stunning!
My current device is a Galaxy S2 running latest version of cyanogenmod 9 (2012-04-09).
Comparing the two i have to admit that the screen on the One X gives much better color reproduction. My Galaxy S2 screen has a kind of blue tint to it.
I don't think its the hardware but the One X has a constant tag troughout the UI compared to Galaxy S2, and the latency is much higher. My S2 has almost the same latency as an iPhone 4 (yes, you read right, the old iphone 4 still is a tiny tiny bit more responsive then my Galaxy S2, probably due to prioritization of the render thread) but the One X is far behind.
Test the latency using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batterypoweredgames.mtvistest
When draging the circles rapidly you see that they are not very close to your finger. There is quite much "delay" (latency)
Will custom ROMs improve this bad lag and latency issue?
Something like this would be to prefer since we have the nice Tegra 3 processor in our pocket: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DehlRJZPsDY
I have noticed this also, just when navigating through the phone UI it's not as smooth as my desire was. Especially the Brower.. I'm hoping to see many updates for this phone to sort out many of the issues
do you guys happen to have a fair few mp3s on your phone?
I've noticed on my phone the more mp3s I load the slower the UI gets, esp loading lag.
stuff is fast once its loaded / in memory, but whilst its loading, there's a delay
Is this the same camera as on Galaxy S3?
If so, how is the shutter speed? Does it take a shot instantly when the button is pressed, or takes some time?
Also, one of the reasons why I didn't go for S3 was that photo quality on non-samsung roms is worse. I intend to use CM only.
Does S4 mini suffer from the same issue?
Hi everyone. I recently got a second Galaxy S4 as a work phone, and my company uses Verizon as their carrier. I have noticed quite a few differences between the phones that are ROM related (mine is T-Mobile obviously), but the ones that get me the most are the screen on the Verizon S4 is significantly brighter for any given setting and the notification LED is brighter on the Verizon S4. So, if they're in auto brightness mode, the Verizon screen is brighter by a noticeable amount in any given lighting situation. If they're not in auto brightness with the slider set to the same position, the Verizon phone is still brighter. I have to move the slider up quite a bit more (a full slider "knob" width at least on my T-Mobile S4) to get them to be relatively equal brightness.
The other thing I noticed is the notification LED at the top is MUCH brighter on the Verizon S4. Mine is easily half as bright for any given color. So, are these features ROM controlled as well? Meaning, could it simply be the ROM is written so that the screen isn't as bright for any given slider position and the LED brightness is reduced by the ROM? I never even noticed this "issue" until I had another one side by side, so that's why I wonder if it was intended to be this way. Everything works, it's just not as bright. I really like the brighter notification LED though...
The other option of course is that my phone has some kind of hardware difference or possibly a defect of some kind. I don't know anyone else who has an S4 to compare it to, so I'm not sure. I tried stopping in at a couple mobile phone stores, but they didn't have working demos. I might try a T-Mobile store this weekend since they are normally closed after I get off work.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has noticed similar things. Thanks in advance!
Bump? Function of the kernel possibly?
Pictures, please.
Is there any way to force the notification LED on for the Verizon phone? The test menus don't work. I'd like to set them side by side and get a picture of each color, plus pictures of the screens where it's most noticeable.
Also, all I have to take pictures with is my Sensation 4G, so I don't know how well they will turn out, but I can try once I figure out the notification LED for the Verizon phone. I have seen how to enable them, but it requires root. Since it's a work phone, this isn't an option.
Hello,
I've red that non-stock ROMs can't offer the same quality or feature of camera. But is there a big difference ?
For those who have migrated to non-stock, do you think (or have decided) to come back to stock because of that ?
Thanks
Picture quality on nougat seems to me about the same as stock (in good light atleast). the main difference is you dont get 1080p 60fps , slow motion and other cool stuff because the driver is different.
In good light its ~75% from stock, low light is ~30% from stock.

i tried one today, in low light the photos were simply horrible. good light gets hit pretty hard too.
