[Q] Stock 4.2 camera is not working!

Today I read a little guide from youmobile, about installing the new camera in android 4.2. (cant post link since im new)
I did everything except I forgot to backup first. Now everytime i start up the phone, open camera or open gallery it comes "Gallery has crashed".
Anyone knows what I might have done wrong? I used ROM Manager -> Boot into clockwordmod recovery -> flash zip -> and i chose the zip.
The camera is working trough apps like Snapchat, but not trough the stock app.
I could also use the stock 4.1.2 gallery and camera .apk so I atleast can get back my camera.
I am running on 4.1.2 takju nexus, with Air Kernel 3.0.46.
Please help.

if you still get crashes, you may want to reflash your Rom (without wiping).
also try fixing permissions, either in clockwork or rom manager

Thanks. I'm new tho, so what do you mean by fixing permissions. Could you give me step by step?

Go into recovery(CWM) and select the fix permissions option (might be under advanced)
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus

Installing the .zip file already fixes permissions. Have you tried renaming the apk to Gallerygoogle2.apk in your preferred file manager?

[Q] Flashing Mistake

Hey guys i have done sth stupid and ive flashed galaxy note camera and gallery apps into my original jellybean version and now i have no camera and gallery working they exist but i cant open them . so what sould I do to make it back

Then you should have two versions of camera and gallery. If so delete the one you flashed via root explorer (es file explorer might work too). For that matter Titanium Backup might do the trick as well. Just be sure you choose the right ones. Reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache (just for good measure) and start it back up. If this doesn't work let us know.

Getting Keyboard From Another Rom

Hi everyone!
I'm running Jader's Ultimate HD rom on Xperia Pro and I was wondering how I could change its keyboard from the one in another rom such as CM10. I tried
extracting the apk from the zip file but when i tried to install it on my phone, it said "There was a problem parsing the package'. I need clear
instructions on how to get a keyboard from another rom.

It is not a flashable zip. What I'm saying is that i want to extract a keyboard out of a rom so I can install it on another rom.

If it wont install it might miss some additional files

Do not install . You need to extract the app from the rom and move to system / app and give permission and reboot .Sorry for my bad English

Works only if you have all files needed in your actual rom and won´t work with cm10 keyboard because cm10 is jb and UHD is ICS

[Q] Camera Not working after Rom flash - Need advice badly

Dear all, please refer my conversation with sotmax about why i am getting a camera failed message on V8....
Problem though, camera STILL wont work, i had stock and it worked, went to carbon rom and it didnt, i was told to wipe /sytem when i installed carbon? is that maybe the cause?
SO going to revert back to stock the go straight to V8, how do i go back to stock though?

Download odin installer and a stock fw my friend. Go to download mode by pressing vol down home and power and flash it

Ok, i got odin ,re flashed stock, re rooted, install CWM , installed V8 and STILL the camera wont work, and i checked it when I installed root and it did work then

Hmmmm....that lead to hardware my friend. Maybe the rom you flasged destroy your cam or its just quincidence and you need new cam.
A week ago my note was back for replacement as gyro sensor broje and got a new one...

then if you flashed stock and is ok wipe data factory reset with stock and flash V8 after wipe
So to check, your saying I shoudl flash back to stock, root it, install CWM, then do factory reset, wipe davlik cache, wipe /cache, then flash v8?
Should i wipe /system?
also, i have checked, the MD5 of my V8 download is correct 100%

Yes exactly that....you dont need to root. Root is needed only if you want to keep stock.
Just flash official then do a hard reset unrooted reboot to download mode flash philz touch recovery with odin(pda) wipe everything inside recovery and flash v8.
Notice that i have done a small mistake in v8 i forgot neak kernel file so if you choose neak kernel will not be flashed. Choose redpill instead...is better. I m uloading fixed version....

But dont i need to root it to install CWM ? What is philz touch recovery? i was using redpill anyhow. After i have done all of that do i then root it?

No need of root if you re gonna flash a rom my friend.
My rom is pre rooted so the only thing you want is a good recovery.
I m suggesting this Philz touch.
Is absolutely the best.
In this link there are all files for root and recovery.
You just skip rooting

Unzipp it in your pc and open the read me file .
You simply flash recovery then wipe data cache and dalvik and flash rom
This has still not solved my camera issue, does ANYONE have any idea??

Conversation was quite hard to follow, hence I have a programme questions:
1. Do you currently have a properly functioning recovery programme (whether it be CWM or TWRP)?
2. Are you more or less acquainted with how to flash zips on your phone using the recovery programme. You say this all started by you flashing a ROM so flashing zips is following the same method so you should be able to do it.
If the answer to both questions is yes, then go here and download the zip file.
Place it on the external sd card of your phone.
Enter recovery mode (press volume up + power + home until Galaxy Note 2 splash screen appears).
Select the zip from your external sd card through the recovery programme and flash it.
Reboot your phone.
You now have 2 extra apps: Camera and Gallery.
Both of these are of the latest 4.2 firmware and your default system Camera and Gallery apps are now useless.
If all goes well, you now have a rather awesome and properly functioning Camera and a complementary Gallery.
???

I can flash zips and everything yes, and my current gallery app works. When i boot camera app atm it says "camera failed"

Nope, didn't work. My stock camera says camera failed and the gallery works, while the 4.2 camera says that cant connect to the camera, and the 4.2 gallery is empty

Also as i said to you in my reply pm conversation is not for publish. No problem as we dont have something to hide but instead of opening a thread to public we can discuss it in rom thread without filling the whole forum with this.
Flash this and if problem still exists then you have problem with your camera module

Xperia S Camera Problem

I've got a Honami ROM installed
it had the stock camera of JB 4.1.2 but i got sick of it and looked for the 4.3 camera
flashed it, was working fine
until i decided to go back to stock camera because the 4.3 was too slow and buggy
so after flashing the stock camera, it won't work
i've tried wiping cache and dalvik
clearing every app data related to the camera nut it still won't work
any help please

Delete all camera related apps from /system/app . Then flash the stock camera again to make it work. Do take a backup of Your current ROM though if anything goes bad.
