I started to hate my Y as there's alot of Good NEWS that ends up with a big "NO" :crying:
so I won't believe any of the written (MY OPINION)

HOAX...LOL

Its Just fake IMO as now days people mod their build.prop file and give fake version numbers and names to their ROM so their analytic log might have captured those rubbish data

Thread Closed, doesn't even mention the Galaxy Y from what I can tell...

Thread Opened, I'll allow it again for the time being. Has a site that I even check showing it.

Yeah.. sir evanlocked post the screenis that he booted up to android 4.0.2

the new version of Android is 4.1.2 not 4.2 so...

its ICS 4.0.2-4.0.4 ICE version jelly bean is the newer version

4.0-4.0.4. - ICS
4.1 - JB
4.2 Key Lime Pie

Techno ( I know its THE-CAPTAIN)
Its 4.1.1- jellybean
4.1.2- klp
I may be wrong
Globally recognised and certified NOOB

No friend 4.1.2 is a just minor update to jelly bean which brings stability fixes.
4.2 is supposed to be klp.

Droidlover answered right, and 4.1.1 was a minor update for Jelly Bean. Pretty sure just bug fixes.
I didn't get the title for not knowing what I'm talking about

Who really knows? But we don't know requirements, so we can't predict it
the rumoured jellybean wasnt even release yet, hell the name jellybean itself its just still a rumour.
i think u might mistaken it with current ice cream sandwitch.
and no, before u ask, theres no official ics for gio, and probably wont be available either.
but in case u really did mean to ask about the still-just-rumour next android, i can just facepalmed.
i saw a video with this version of android and i saw s galaxy y with a image of jelly bean

Had a chat with support of Samsung.Looks like Samsung just don't give a froyo about anyone who uses Gio,Young or something like that.We won't be getting this update from the official source,I suppose.
p.s. i think some devs will definitely bring this to us.XDA shall save the day once again

sure sure, let's get our hands on ICS first, as even the name of 'jelly bean' isn't official, however there was something with those on a GOOGLE announcement, and it is said to divide the tablets and phones again..
someone says that J requirement is less then I ?

I think he meant to say that jelly bean requires less than ICS.
Dont knowif this is true. Why would they?
And samsung is not going to update a low end device wich is a year old

The name Jelly Bean is official and google will unveil it in late June or early July...
devices with Jelly Bean will start to roll out by the end of the year..and yes..
we still do not have a proper ICS build jelly bean is too long a shot...
I've got some news:
Google tries to fix their fault - Android fragmentation. As you know, Google gave tablets Android 3.0, which smartphones didn't get. It was big mistake. Now Google fixes it by giving new Android with HUGE requirements. So, nope, probably we won't get this version...

HUGE requirements will continue the fragmentation.
Devices like the desire hd or similar, wich gets ics, but will be stuck on 4.0.
About 30% will be stuck on GB because of the grow of android this year, but will be smaller, as most new devices launch with ics.
And so on.
Updating should be like IOS, when an ipad 1 or iphone 3gs is still upgradeable to ios 5.1.1, wich has been released 2 weeks ago.
These are limited in the app store, but who cares?

That's the difference between a monopolized environment and a liberal one. Monopoly is easier to control, predict and dictate. But don't be as naive as to think apple doesn't turn obsolete old equipment with their OS upgrades. The timeline is just much more dilated than those of the less controled environments.

[INFO] Did you see this? Jelly bean android 5

Yeah, I saw it already...
1. sources will be aviable in 1,5 week ...
2. jellybean runs with some more kernel execute and with the most libs from ics 4.0.4 (cm9) so it will work on gio
3. only a few libs must be rebuilded from source like audio libs, wifi binaries and the buttter libs ....
4. cm10/cm9
explaination: jb are not much modifications.
only butter project and some improvements from google and thats why i think that it falls under cm9
thats all in all for jb

Jelly Bean 4.1.1

Don't worry guys, I'm not a n00b asking for a dev to whip up a Jelly Bean port. I've just been browsing the Android General section and came across this: http://maclaw.pl/?p=205
While our brilliant devs are working hard to port CM7 (and an apparent port of CM9 which got shut down twice), someone went and created a Jelly Bean port for ARMv6 devices! If it's real or not, I don't know. The article is small, so don't expect a lot of reading. I just thought I'd share for you guys to see and judge for yourselves.
