Is that overclocked or just using the stock kernel?
Frosty is where it's at.
Check out what I got on stock leaked jelly bean with ktoons kernel
This one was dead stock no overclock at all
I dont get now were near that im running v3 of djs rom and with the kernel it came at stock 1.5ghz
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I'm on stock v3 right now also so I will test mine really quick.
Then I'll flash ktoonsez kernel and test again (with no overclock) to compare.
Then another test with it overclocked
---------- Post added at 03:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:12 AM ----------
I scored a 5877 everything totally stock. I am wondering if I odexed my system if that would increase the score...
Gonna flash ktoonsez kernel before I odex though. Then I'll post my test results again.
Nope no over clock
I didn't over clock its on the usual 1500 megahertz. Although there is a majorbug that my screen keeps fflashing blue its kind on annoying. Anyone know how to fix it?

Disable hardware overlays and blue flicker will go away. Video doesn't work with hw overlays disabled though so I just deal with it.
Basically uvli6 and uvli7 have the flicker where uvli8 doesn't have the flicker. BUT uvli8 gets worse battery life so that's why it isn't used in the ROM.

Anybody with questions about the speed of Calk's Rom, here it is. Not sure how this compares with other, more modern phones. Quadrant seems a bit out dated at the moment. This is at forced 1.6 ghz with the LoST kernel Exp build. I don't particularly trust the kernel that gets up to 1.8 ghz..

Try it with Renegade kernel.
It is extremely fast!
I'm loving it but I'm just wondering how to add TSMParts (such as multiple lockscreens like Starburst has or extended toggles). With those tweaks, this would be nearly perfect.

You realize that none of these "fast" roms are actually faster than stock?
All of them use various tricks to improve the sd card score without affecting the cpu/gpu scores. Quadrant is a flawed benchmark susceptible to cheating that way.
None of those "high" scores truly translate to real world performance improvements.

Who gives a damn?
Kernels don't "go to" megahertz. Your hardware can either handle it or it can't.
Get any kernel which allows cpu voltage tinkering, and figure out your best speed.

I have and i am still on this Rom right now but all i get are reboots and when i do reboot my phone loops and i have to flash all over again.
And yes i wipe all before i flash.

how about the memory score?
It is a nice improvement, but memory isn't our bottleneck.
If the bottleneck isn't addressed, it doesn't matter much really.

We have already moved past the point of i/o bottlenecks. So no, it does not make a difference.
In a desktop, the HDD is ALWAYS the biggest bottleneck, so naturally an SSD will be a gamechanger. I/O is not currently a bottlneck, so you don't see any performance increase. We do not have an issue with transfer speeds within the device itself.
On the Samsung Fascinate the bottleneck was i/o due to RFS. Converting to EXT4 was more than enough to remove the bottleneck. We are already on EXT4 so...
The real improvements to be seen are CPU and GPU improvements and to a lesser extent, memory improvements. Memory improvements are actually quite good, because they affect not only the ram, but the GPU as well.
Your device (whether tablet, phone, or computer) is only as fast as your slowest bottleneck.

lol, my reaction exactly. After I got finished being upset about it, I realized that if AnTuTu is picking and choosing what scores they post, then there are probably other even higher scores that never got posted, too. I just figured what's the point then, and lost interest.
But I still have the whole nandroid of the special setup I was using, and I might try again one of these days. Whatever. It was fun, but it doesn't really prove anything except that you have a good cooling technique.
Edit: BTW, it was Rascarlo's Rasbeanjelly ROM, 2012-08-09 release, and morfic's Trinity kernel Alpha32, 1728-537 version. Forgot to put that in. And I listened to Simms22 to learn how to do it. I just supplied the ocd, lol.

a benchmark is basically a set of tests to see how fast your phone is running
here is the dictionary meaning...
bench·mark
/ˈbenCHˌmärk/
Noun
A standard or point of reference against which things may be compared or assessed.
Verb
Evaluate or check (something) by comparison with a standard: "we are benchmarking our performance against external criteria".
if you want to compare your device to others
go to playstore and download Antutu Benchmark and run it
I know my device would score low...I'm setup for stability and battery life.
Those with really high scores are tweaked for Max performance and probably carry an a/c charger in their pockets!
