[Q] Recommend a ROM, please

A work colleague is handing her Wildfire over to me on Sunday to root and install a ROM for her.
She's sick to death of the slow performance, locking up, and general sh*ttiness of the standard ROM. She says it's so bad she can barely even use the thing as a phone, since it just freezes when she gets a call!
So I said to her I would solve all her probs by installing vanilla(ish) ROM. I hope I've not made a promise I can't keep :-D
Anyway, of course I automatically thought CMod, but does anyone else have an opinion or suggestion for a ROM?
The overriding factor is stability since I don't want her coming back to me with problems, and then after that speed/performance.
Finally, is there any replacement for the HTC Dialler that allows automatic contact-finding when you type on a T9-like keyboard and actually looks decent these days? I gave up looking months ago, since all I could find were crappy-looking ones. I do miss the HTC Dialler sorely myself, and I'm sure she will if I can;t find a good replacement.

I recomend RuymancaMod hell fire v7.2 based on cm7 but very stable,usin it for a month or so no probs at all,about dialer dont know

I agree about ruymanca, it runs fast,stable and looks perfect with eyecandy theme chooser theme, but........

Look, if u love Sense roms ..just go Jokerdroid 4.2 the best sense rom ever.but if u want something outside sense with eye candy themes,speed n smoothness..go for Ruymanca hellfire 7.2

i recommend ruymanca as well but the download link is removed with some reason. its like cm7 but the call lag.

This is what I use and I am extremelly pleased! I just want to test also the DK Custom Froyo V4.5.1 , in case it is even better, but right now my phone is smooth, stable and extremelly well working!

I am sorry, but I think you are in the wrong forum. I am pretty certain LeeDroid doesn't exist for the Wildfire.

Android Revolution HD 7.0.3 or 6.3.2 ?

I'm new and and i wanna use a custom rom on my DHD.
I read the recent posts on Android Revolution HD 7.0.3 Rom thread and some users wanted back to Rom 6.3.2.
I need to know which one is better and more stable and faster?

7.0.3 is based on sensation xl port(sense 3.5)
6.3.2 is based on official for DHD(sense 3) both are good..

Finally I choosed 6.3.2 version and i installed it.but i have another question:under the 6.3.2 version download links there is "Kernel 11.1 with 2-way recording support" too. what is it?
should i install it?what if i don't?

yeah, both are good, but i think that there're much more stable roms like rcmixv4 or runnydroid 5. on both arhd i've got a lot of random reboots, even on cpu freq. 1gh...

Yeah had random reboot too, both versions, same on the dhd of my girlfriend, both not under or overclocked. I should go for the stock rooted rom by nitr00. It never gave me any troubles and is solid and stable as a rock

2way recording is u can record ur voice n the voice of the person u are talking to when having a call using an apps... Its optional, not necessary to install it

I had cm 7.2 rc1 before i install arhd today.i had problems with it like there wasn't wireless proxy option and it has problem gaps.
do you suggest me to install rcmixv4 or runnydroid 5 ?which one?
are they have problems like i told?

i've got both roms, in my opinion rcmix is better because it has got more and better tweaks. battery life is the same, speed also i think, whatever , i wasn't using them a lot of time because i more like roms wiyhout sense - they are much faster.

which rom you are using now?is all google services like sync account and Maps working on it?
about Speed I'm agree with you,Cm7 was faster than ARHD (which i installed yesterday) but i had problem with google services and wireless proxy settings.

yesterday i'ev changed BlackICEv1.5 (which is very good and fast rom) to rcmix runny v4 and i'm ery happy

does it hve good support?
does your google maps works fine?does it have arabic/persian keyboard support?

by the way i installed arabic support in the secound post of ARHD 6.3.2
. now arabic keyboard works fine but in the browser in persian sites all letters are seperated.anyone can help?

If u really care about battery life, then u should flash 6.3.2.
the battery life is much better.

I've used 632/633 and 703/704 quite a lot over the last few months and can say I noticed no real difference in battery life but 6.3 was a little more stable, never had any reboots on either but with the 7.0 roms had problems with the video camera crashing occasionally. The 7.0 roms look better because of the newer sense version but decided to stick with the 6.3 roms because its rock stable and didn't change my ringtones everytime I changed the battery like 7.0 did

RCTweaks by Gerc86 seems to fix the video camera FC issue - the issue exists in 7.0.3 (which is what I have). Links to the tweaks found in the ARHD thread.

Baked ROM 8 for One X (endeavoru)

Not sure if any of you guys have used a Baked rom for any of your devices (personally I use it on my Nexus7), but with the recent release of BB8 I saw that they had snuck in an endeavoru version. Will be trying it out for myself I think but just wanted to let you all know as I don't (yet) see a thread in the rom development section.

Ok. Just finished getting everything set up. I repacked neo's latest kernel to use with it as I normally use ICJ and know that his kernels have awesome battery life. Everything is set up and running smoothly, the only issue I've found is the camera force closes when switching to video or panorama, which is not a deal breaker for me as I never use the video anyway. And for some strange reason the OTA updater tells me that a newer version of the rom is available, however it then prompts me to download BB6?!?
Comparing it to ICJ there's a few tweaks missing but LC and the team are constantly adding things to ICJ so this can't really compete on the tweaking front.
I'm now going to fully charge and run with it for a couple of days to see how it goes. I'll report back later.

for camera you could try to replace the gallery.apk inside /system/app with the one from icj. maybe it works and you could let me know.

hey,
listen, i've installed few roms in the last 2 weeks, flashed 2 recoveries version,
this is the roms:

from some reason, I prefer the CM 10.1, he works faster, more over, the CM 11 is not stable as CM 10.1 because it's newer,
When I was on stock rom my battery performance was much better,
My battery in 100% finished totaly after one phonecall or even taking picture with flash light on.
I buoght new battery from ebay, it's shipping right now to me and I hope it will fix the problem.
I have some questions:
1. which rom is better right now? (cm10.1 or cm11)
2. why the battery drains so fast? is that overclocked roms?
3. Do I have to download stock rom for my country? why is that matter? Im from israel and I think that in the stock rom there are apps of the Cellular operator (cellcom) and i hate that, i want clean stock android, I dont want these dirty apps and heavy widgets.

I recently used:
Mokee OS 04/11 + KhaN Kernel 2.0 = 100% stable
Paranoid Android 4.3 BETA1 + KhaN Kernel = Just installed a day ago, but seems stable and the fastest KitKat rom yet.
Keep in mind to configure kernel settings for better performance and battery life and disable pocket detection / WLAN notification / auto sync / IMPORTANT: silly google background services using "disable service".

IMO i prefer CM 10.1 because its very fast, and stable, i think Kitkat is not ready yet !!
However im using a 2450 mah battery on CM 10.1 and geting good battery lifee, but if u use the stock batery with 1500 mah, CM 10.1 wont last much , so u need to go with stock or Kitkat

What's the point about KitKat is not ready yet? Performance is better than Jellybean as far as I tried nearly every rom available

hers a clear answer : go Download CM 11, download KHAN kernel too, remove, unneded system apps (using es file explorer or any other app ), Download Apex Launcher , and u ll get awsome performace and batery life

[Q] -> Recommended Custom Rom for HTC One X? <-

Hey guys
Today i unlocked my HTC One X and rooted it because i had many WIFI connection problems in the past. :crying:
I have sent it to HTC to repair before, but it came back with the same problem.
I had the idea that the software could be buggy and cause this problem.
Could you recommend me a cool Rom, which still has the HTC look but improved performance ?

Go for MaximuxHD or Android Revolution. Both have stock look and improved performances .

Now, after using these Custom Roms for some days, i would like to get the nice cube animations of sense 4 back but keep Sense 5
Can i download the animation from somewhere and just flash it?
Besides i would like to install a feature of Windows Phone (Tap the Screen to unlock).
Would be very cool if you could help me again

You mean tap screen to wake?
Look for a custom kernel with dt2w. Lyapota or Alex V. Ask in their thread which kernel to flash. Or better, read for yourself
