Hey guys
Today i unlocked my HTC One X and rooted it because i had many WIFI connection problems in the past. :crying:
I have sent it to HTC to repair before, but it came back with the same problem.
I had the idea that the software could be buggy and cause this problem.
Could you recommend me a cool Rom, which still has the HTC look but improved performance ?
Go for MaximuxHD or Android Revolution. Both have stock look and improved performances .
Viperx and unboxed Rom
Thanks Very Much Guys!
I installed The Android Revolution Rom and everything works pretty fine! (Score of 20.000 in Antutu Benchmark)
Now, after using these Custom Roms for some days, i would like to get the nice cube animations of sense 4 back but keep Sense 5
Can i download the animation from somewhere and just flash it?
Besides i would like to install a feature of Windows Phone (Tap the Screen to unlock).
Would be very cool if you could help me again

You mean tap screen to wake?
Look for a custom kernel with dt2w. Lyapota or Alex V. Ask in their thread which kernel to flash. Or better, read for yourself

I am just getting into all this rom flashing and have a query. Cannot post on the XDA developer thread for it and do not want to break my phone up due to something I have not researched properly.
I have installed the new Revolution 5.1.3 on my desire and it is working great but I wish to install some of the sense 3.0 features such as SMS , lock screen etc.
I am not sure what I have to do to install this. Do I have to install the nosense script before I can start installing the sense 3.0 stuff or can I just install them without doing this. Is there a certain way I have to go about doing this in order for it to work properly.
Any help would be appreciated
Try the new leedroid it has sense 3.0 SMS and the 3.0 lock screen can be flashed, has a custom leedroid kernel for better battery life and faster phone also.

cheers, might give it a go.
You can't install/flash sense, you have to flash a ROM which contains it... And currently, there are no ROMs which are fully sense 3.0, there are only some things ported to them... I suggest you to wait for a native sense 3.0 port if you want a true experience...
LeeDroid doesn't have sense 3 sms, only Task Manager and USB Menu, also lockscreen as a seperate addon

You should give a try to RCMix. It has many Sense 3 features, such as lock screen sms and wallpaper. I tried and found it very interesting. I think Sense 3 will be a step ahead.

I had a look at this one, but got a bit confused when it said not to wipe using ROM manager (I'm still kinda new to this) .
Have just tried the coredroid 6.0 rom and whilst it seems ok, it seems a bit jerky compared the android revolution HD rom.
Glad I tried it as I got to have a look at some of the sense 3.0 features but think I will go back to Revolution HD or maybe try that leedroid ROM.
I'm using leedroid with the sense 3.0 and the circle battery. Works perfect for me !

can anyone tell me the most stable rom, wit hall components working with no bugs , glitches or problems etc. i currently have stock on my phone, and have been wanting to upgrade, but although every few days something is released, or a new feature (sense 3) i dont want to install if bugs - i.e. i read in sense 3 the weather doesnt update, so bit pointless installing.
whats the best rom for me? im guessing all roms are cleaned up and sped up.
Start with Seraphics Stock (but rooted) HTC gingerbread. Its the 2.3 update with root access, everything works.
Try Leedroid 3.02 very stable for me and have all u need battery holds nice too.

Depends on what ur looking for, I had the same question a month ago or so and decided to go for the a Revolution rom, by now I never want to go back again. I just flashed the Android Revolution HD 5.1.4, seems stable, fully functional and fast.
Yup, another vote for Android Revolution. Faster, better battery life, and probably more stable than stock My opinion is, don't go for Sense 3 mods, except maybe USB Connection thing. 3.0 Lock screen is pretty much useless like stock one, untill they fully implement features from sense 3 (lock screen apps selection,...).
Make a backup of your stock ROM, and then install ARHD 5.1.4 or LeeDroid 3.0.2, if you don't like it after testing, just restore to your previous state and you're back (with the slow one)
I would go for ARHD i have been using i for quiet a long time now and havent seen a lot of bugs its very fast and easy to use when you come from stock ROM because of no visual chances i would not recommed that you install any of the mods or themes in the first place Hope it helps

thank you i will try revolution first then

using ROM Manager or clockworkmod recovery (ROM Manager is a GUI for CWM-R).
Just hit the backup current ROM.
You should perform a (NAND) backup every time you flash a new ROM etc. just in case something goes wrong.
to try ARHD is a good dission.
It's fast, stable and simply that what you're looking for.
My tip on you: read the quides carefully, you'll have no problems with the flashing.
Try RCMIX if you want sense.
Try CM if you do not want sense.

il add another vote for leedroids 3.0.3 it is very stable and everything works
thank you all, i will try revolution first, as it is downloaded now, then once i have done one i am sure i will be addicted and more happy to try others more often.
ok, thank you everyone, i have installed the rom, it seems faster, and no noticeable problems yet.
I followed the guides found on here. and today saw on another site that it mentions to factory reset and wipe data, and then wipe data again after install, which there was no mention of in guides here.
will this cause a problem? i dont want to reset /wipe data now as just set it up again how i like it.
Rcmix v6 is stable, the new kingdom port 0.2 has too much widgets problem for me.
+1 for leedroid but 3.0.3 with 3.0.4 kernel... Its smothhiie and works perfectly

Hey XDA ,
This is my first Post here , Pardon me if I sound noobish (I'm a noob but I learn fast and I'm on my way of becoming an electrical enigeneer)!
I have an HTC Wildfire , rooted using the method in this thread a few months ago
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035
I'm Currently on CM 7.1.0.1 , and I have CWM 5.0.2.0 flashed
I went through a few versions of CM7 and this is the one that satisfies me the most.
However , I want to go back to Stock Froyo , basically because I want more stability and I think It'd be nice to have sense back (And I think the GPS is not working but It's not too important for me) , and I thought , I already have the phone rooted so I can install custom kernels , OC , ... , while still having the stock ROM .
I heard that going back to Froyo would make me "Lose" the Rooting .
First of all , What does this mean ? and is there a way of doing it without "Loosing " Root or Bricking the phone ?
If not , please recommend the best Sense ROM available that could be as good as CM7 with minimal known bugs (would appreciate download links).
One last thing (Don't know if it's relevant) , I partitioned my SD and it's working great using the Link2SD App , Is my SD still a GoldCard?
I went through the forums and couldn't find an answer , And again , sorry for sounding like a noob and thanks in advance !
Hey pal your best bet is to run a custom froyo sense rom that will keep root and work with your Sdcard partition. I suggest rem puzzle as its fast stable with app2sd and GPS working. Something to note, when you install it it will reboot a few times and take up to 15 minutes. Its normal, don't panic

Right now, your best bet for speed and stability would be RemPuzzle.
Gingerbread Sense Tom's like KoolSense work, but they're a bit slow.

ahhh why go back to stock Sense Rom, trust me, its become a habit for me to change roms like socks! therz so many to chose from mate. and yes i must admit stability is a huge factor in choosing a rom. my major issue with sense is the lack of over clocking. I tried kwbr rom, its sense alright, with beats audio but no overclocking ability, any way I use CM 7.2 RC3 for everyday use, its super stable and fast. i use go launcher as my everyday launcher as well, but its all a matter of taste in what you like, here is a link to the various roms available to our dear wildfire
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
if you really insist on going back to stock sense, i will post the RUU link but just browse these rroms for a while hey...
PS. if i helped, please click thanks

You can overclock sense based roms. Rempuzzle has an overclockable kernal included. For kwbr you will have to flash a different kernal.

I'm looking to root/rom my OneX shortly. I normally try out loads of different roms and settle on the one I have installed when I get bored of faffing around anymore, but this time I would like to just go for the one/two that i'm after.
Would like the most stable rom that closely resembles the Nexus 4 / JB 4.2. Are the roms there yet? or are they still missing features or buggy?
Which rom would best match what im after?

I guess you could flash ARHD and then use ROM Cleaner to get rid of Sense.
Check the threads out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603 (ARHD)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589949 (ROM Cleaner)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052610
This is what you want
ROM cleaner does not get rid of sense at all. Sense is not only launcher or lockscreen, it's the whole framework. To remove it you need to flash AOSP ROM.
Also, OP wanted Android 4.2.
The closest to absolutely stock Android you'll get is pabx's AOSP ROM. It is like it's pulled straight from n4 with no extra mods or tweaks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013506
If you want tweaks go for ICJ above.
