[Q] Having trouble with zip file being recognized when in CWR mode - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm trying to root my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 and after installing clockwork recovery and downloading the superuser zip file my phone gives a E: Can't mount /sdcard/ message. I've gone through the process twice and am sure I've followed instructions carefully but no luck. I sure would appreciate some help.

[Q] Signature Verification Failure

Sorry Guys... I need a little help here. ...
Working with a new Epic 4g.
I ran the one-click root and got it to work .. however whenever i try install a ROM i get and error that says "Signature Verification Failure".
The process i used was to copy downloaded ROM to the SD Card root and rename them to update.
Is there something else i should be doing in addition to or instead of what i've done? Thanks
-sun
Try it without renaming the file. I've seen this before and I fixed.it by taking.the. zip off cause my file was. Zip.zip. just select choose zip from SD card. Just a suggestion. Also if you start to get a couple different rom's on your phone all named update.zip how do you know what is what.
Sent from my Evo Killer!
Sounds like your using the newest clockwork 3 and trying to flash a non cw3 compatible rom. If that's the case you need to run a root program that still has cw2 in it and it will change it.

First off. You should be posting this in the QA section and not in the development section.
What it looks like doing is trying to flash a custom rom in clockwork using either "apply update from sdcard" or "apply /sdcard/update.zip." Neither will work with a custom rom because it requires a signature from Sprint or Samsung. What you need to do in recovery is "Install zip from SDcard" followed by "choose zip from sdcard" then select the zip you're try to flash.

[Solved]ClockworkMod Recovery - No files Found

I'm trying to install Jellybean, and I put the .zip file on my phone via USB before rebooting into recovery. When I press "choose zip from sdcard" it says No files found.
I even tried the following command:
adb push ./bigxie_JRN84D_rooted_busybox_deodexed.zip /sdcard
But it still says no files found.
I'm using a Galaxy nexus, which doesn't use a sdcard, only internal memory so maybe I am doing something wrong.
My phone is currently bricked and won't boot, so the only thing I can do is use recovery mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit:
Tried unmounting and remounting everything, and it worked.

[Q] Device won't boot after sdcard format

my htc one x device doesn't boot up (only shows the HTC quietly brilliant screen) because i've formatted the sdcard and data files...
im now only able to boot into clockworkmod recovery...
can't even copy any files into the phone thru USB, as such, i can't install any ROMs...
tried to do a search on this but im an android noob and couldn't understand many of the would-be-related threads...
any kind soul can provide guides to how can i solve this?
thanks!
Use the latest CWM recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Then you can mount USB with it and copy the ROM.zip to your sdcard and flash.
thanks for your reply!
i've got CWM 5.8.2.7 but i couldnt mount USB storage.
it gives me an error of:
"E: Unable to open ums lunfile (no such file or dir)"
That's an old CWM recovery with USB problem. Download the latest at the link given and flash it, you'll solve your problem easily.

Error installing Cyanogenmod on Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 with TWRP recovery

Hi everyone,
I've been having an issue with installing the Cyanogenmod to my Samsung Galaxy S2 T-Mobile SGH-T989 phone using TWRP v2.8.7.0.
I was having an issue where the external SD card where I had the ROM zip file (and my nandroid backup) was not recognized and so I couldn't access the ROM file from Recovery. My husband helped me using adb push and we put it into /data/media/0.
When I tried to install the ROM file, it says "Unable to find partition for path '/data'" and it says an error flashing zip and said it Failed. If I try to reboot, it says "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
We tried putting the ROM zip file into /data, but it does the same thing.
Any ideas? Any help will be appreciated.

try to flash the rom via adb sideload! (advanced->adb sideload) if the data problem persists you may need to wipe /data
Sent from my Xperia T using XDA Free mobile app
I finally got it to work. The next day when I went to retry sideload instead of push, the phone wouldn't even power on, and I had to soft reset my phone by taking out the battery and holding down the power button for a minute. I ended up using ROM manager to install Clockworkmod Recovery and used that to install a different Cyanogenmod zip instead. It took a couple of tries to get the Cyanogen mod to install and boot, but it's working now.
Thanks for your help.
I had that problem before. It happened. I believed there are various versions of TWRP out there. However, I am using the one posted in the T989 forums (Pananoid Thread) and it works ok.
