Flashing Bugless Beast with ROM Manager..... help needed

I have rooted my EVO with the toast method and files. I updates my adb usb drivers and flash erecovery from my PC but when I download the file w/i RM and the DL finishes I select back up current rom and nothing happens. I did double check my root access by running the su command in a terminal and had no issues. I then DL'ed the file to me PC and transferred it to the root on the SD card, reboot into fastboot the manually into erecovery and tried to perform an update zip . Nothing is working as expected, does anyone have any ideas on things to try??? Also I am very familiar with RM as I used it all the time with my Droid.

Try just loading of Rom manager and click flash rec. All tht then try reboot into rec. May not work depending on what Rom your currently on
not sure what you mean
Are you suggesting reinstalling RM? Or are you suggesting DL'ing the Rom and flashing from RM?
Couple of things :
1) I have DL'ed the Rom from RM and began theflash process w/i the tool and nothing happens, where in the past on my droid it would go into CW recovery and flash the new Rom and all was well, but not thus far
2) I am still using the stock since UI and have flashed CW recovery via RM
3) the main thing I have noticed is the CW recovery isn't set for whatever reason
4) I did read in one of th xda threads that the boot loader was not able to be unlocked at this point

[Q] Changed the builb.prop and now stuck in bootloop

I tried to change my build.prop file with ROOT EXPLORER to this:
ro.product.model=Desire HD
ro.product.brand=htc_wwe
ro.product.name=htc_ace
ro.product.device=ace
ro.product.board=spade
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
ro.board.platform=qsd8k
ro.build.product=ace

in order to able to run apps no compt with desire, but desire HD.
unfortunately, as I saved the file the device rebooted itself and is now stuck in bootloop. (edit: I also can't access recovery for some reason, it's stuck on E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command and doesn't let me flash the update.zip)
I saved a copy of the unedited build.prop file on the SD card.
How is it possible to restore the file into the /system directory (adb maybe)?
Thanks!
*I'm not currently S-OFFed
*I think that a full wipe and reflashing the ROM will solve it, but I prefer not to, unless it is necessary.
edit:
Now that I think of it, is it even possible to edit files in /system while device is booted and not S-OFFed?
Was that the cause of it?
You can restore your old build.prop via ADB while in recovery.
Here it is:
Connect the USB cable while in recovery and use the commands (from command prompt):
1) adb shell
2) su
3) mount -o remount rw /system
4) adb push build.prop /system
And reboot.

Just reflash the ROM without wiping
Okay, this one never happened to me, but I can't access my recovery...
I press vol down + power button, and when the /!\ appears, and I press vol up + power button, it's stuck on the:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
and doesn't let me flash the update.zip...
For the same reason, I can't reflash the rom.
Thanks you guys.
What recovery do you have (or had) ?
You tried from the bootloader?
I have CWM 2.5.0.7.
Tried what from the bootloader?
the abd commands?
It says:
adb server out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
- exec 'system/bin/sh' failed: no such file or directory <2> -

or did u mean something else?
Well just boot into recovery (the main menu) and then execute the commands.
Oh and also go to the Mount options and mount /system.
Maybe I'm getting something wrong or I don't understand you well, but I can't access the recovery...
I rooted my phone in a pretty old method, and not using UNREVOKED, and in order to get into recovery I used fakeflash.
now, when I try to access recovery, in the bootloader, I press VOL UP + POWER, and now I get stuck on
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
and it doesn't let me flash the update.zip.
thanks for your help!

[Q] HBOOT Image and Update Script Errors

What I did:
Rooted Evo 4G Gingerbread using Revolutionary
Flahsed su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.exe and PC36IMG.EXE
Worked great, got excited flashed:
SOS_v1.9.0.2-swag.exe, navbar_rednblack.exe, remap_camera.exe, and ChopSuey-v.9.2.6-UNIVERSAL-signed.exe
Whats going on:
SOS, navbar, and remap flash fine; all other flash attempts give the error, E: Can’t Find Update Script
At HBoot
SD Checking
Loading (PC36IMG.img)
No Image
Loading (PC36IMG.img)
No Image or Wrong Image
Loading (PC36IMG.img)
No Image
Loading (PC36IMG.img)

(With PC36IMG.EXE on the SD root) Also
Parsing (SD ZIP)
(1) Recovery
So how do I get rid of the errors so I can flash another ROM or whatever? Thanks for helping a noob
If you're already rooted, you need to boot into recovery. Then navigate to where the .zip (ROM) is located. The instructions to flash should be provided on the first page of the dev's post.
Thank you but, I don't undeerstand. I can find the zip files that I put on the SD card, and go into the recovery screen but when I try and flash any ROM/add on/bootanimation/ I get the eror, E: Can’t Find Update Script" so where is the script? Also, any ieas on the no/wrong image issue?
What recovery r u using? R u flashing chopsuey thru hboot or recovery?

I flashed the Kernal throu recovery.
HBoot> scroll to Recovery>hit power key> Brings up android systems recovery screen> scroll to "Flash sip from SDcard> Select the zip file. That is when I get the E: Can not find update script error.
I am not running the PC36IMG ROM, I am running the SOS_v1.9.0.2-swag but in HBOOT, its looking for the PC36IMG image, are't these issues related?
Google "evo amon-ra xda forums".
Download the PC36IMG.zip.
Copy and paste it in the root of your SD card.
Press volume up to install in hboot.
Once complete, boot into recovery and try to flash the ROM zip file.
Be sure to delete the amon-ra zip file or else it'll just ask if you want to flash when hboot loads.

Thanks, trie your suggestion but the file still aborted with the can find update script error.
Sounds like you got a bad zip file

Go to the correct forum for your device. I'm sure someone over there will be able to help you do whatever it is you're trying to do.
If you're looking for a bootloader-flashable recovery file, I posted one in the TWRP thread for the LTE.

[Q] I really need help now with HBoot

I used this tutorial to root my HTC Desire:
http://techspalace.blogspot.com/2011/10/perm-root-htc-desire-gingerbread-233.html
Then I was using it for half a year and few days ago I downloaded LeeDroid 3.3.3 data ++ and successfully installed it but I had only 120mb free internal memory for apps with it. I was googlin a lot and i realized that Im using wrong HBoot (im newbie in that stuff). Then I found this tutorial how to flash cm7r2 hboot on desire (its required for leedroid ROM)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223856
I followed the steps, downloaded http://alpharev.nl/PB99IMG_cm7r2.zip then I copied it to my SD card and renamed it to PB99IMG and rebooted my phone. It asked me if i want to update, i chose yes but then i rebooted and got stuck at HTC logo and white screen.
So I tried to restore my previous ROM via ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0 but still Im stuck at HTC logo
(after restoring it says:
Restore complete!
E: Error in /cache/recovery/log
(No space left on device)
E: Error in /cache/recovery/last_log
(No space left on device)
Im not really skilled in all these things, can someone pls give me an advice how to get back on Revolutionary hboot and my old ROM or how to get this Alpharev cm7r2 bootloader working?
EDIT: Now i managed to install leedroid from sd again, but there was force closes of everything so I did factory reset and now I pass HTC logo but Im stuck at glowing "ANDROID" logo..... really need help
I think that if I would manage to get "revolutionary" back instead of "Alpharev cm7 r2" at bootloader, my old ROM backup would work.... but i dont know how to get "Revolutionary" bootloader back !
Hi,
you might want to try the following:
Download fastboot commander from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193915
Download the desired HBOOT from http://alpharev.nl/
Select the HBOOT that matches the ROM you want to install
Start the fastboot program, plug in your phone with USB (powered off) and start the phone in BOOTLOADER modus (VOLUME-DOWN + POWER)
there is an option fastboot, press it. You're now able to flash your HBOOT with fast commander.
Unzip the bravo_xxxx.zip so you get an xxx.img file. load this file in Fastboot->[TAB]Hboot, Radio & Rec->Hboot and press Flash Hboot. Wait for an OK.
Exit fastboot and go to recovery. Search for USB Mount (mount your SD-CARD to the USB) and search this SD-CARD in Windows Explorer. Copy the ROM in zip format you want to install on your SD-CARD and unmount.
Now select the option install from SD and select the zip file. Let it run and reboot.
(If you selected a rom which needs an EXT2 EXT3 or EXT4 partition, then partition this first, this is also possible in the recovery menu).
Hope this helps...

[Q] CWM and command file

I am trying to install a custom rom an my HTC one X using only my pc. I got it to automaticly install the boor.img file etc.. but only the install of the rom itself using CWM recovery is giving me some trouble...
I can add some commands to /cache/recovery/command and CWM will execute those when it is booted in recovery, but i can't find anywhere what kind of arguments the CWM recovery can handle...
I tried:
--wipe_data
--wipe_cache
--set_encrypted_filesystem=off
--update_package=/sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_5.2.0.zip
the last one is doing something, but it sais it can't find the file. One time i got it to find the file(i forgot how ), but then it said the verification failed and it stopped.
But when i select the file manually it installs just fine.
Can anyone help me give me the available arguments for the CWM recovery? I can't find them anywhere...
Or maybe tell me how to install a custom rom using just a pc, and not touching the device.
Thnx!
as far as im concerned CWM doesnt support usb on the HTC One X yet.
so you'll have to copy the file to your external sdcard and flash it through CWM itself
Yes i know that... But i can add arguments to the /var/recovery/command file using adb... When added the arguments I can reboot into recovery and CWM tries to execute those... I only need a argument to switch signature verification off...
