I have attatched my note 2 this morning to kies to see if samsung had updated to the latest firmware for the note 2
I havent rooted or changed my csc and kies advises it cant be upgraded via the program ?
any idea why ?
I know kies is a nightmare but I do like upgrading this way
Strange has samsung gone to ota only for the note 2 ?

Hello everyone and sorry if i created a topic that already exists ive been searching this forum for hours and i could not find a solution to my problem.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 purchased in Slovenia at the provider Mobitel.
I've tried to update my phone to a newer version of the firmware trough Kies but i get the following error.
OK as im new it doesnt let me insert links :/ so my firmware version is the following:
PDA:JS2 / PHONE:JPY / CSC:JS1 (MOT)
i know the update to 2.3 is availible in Slovenia but i think i am missing some update inbetween or something, as you can see my Kies says its not an official version on my phone but it is, my phone is the same as i bought it ive never updated yet nor i installed any custom stuff on it.
Hope someone can help me i've been trying to update for about 2 weeks now :/ thanks!
I have the same problem with my sons. I cant go no further as the notice i see is in chinese ????
Seems like the key (kie ) is to try it on different PC's. the usb driver that comes with kies is terrible and doesn't work on a lot of computers
When I connect my Note II to my pc and launch Kies to sync and backup my info on my phone it says "Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update via Kies.
Current Firmware: PDA:MA4 / PHONE:MA4 / CSC:MA4 (ATT)
Is this correct on Kies or do I have a different firmware on my Note II? I have the factory firmware. The Only thing that I have updates on my Note II is when that Update patch was released via OTA. How do I get Kies to recognize my Phone's firmware?
One that other hand kinda off topic for this forum: I currently have the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from At&t and it has 4.0.4 firmware. Any word on it getting updated to 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 via Kies or OTA?

actually similar but not exact problem, I cannot get my Kies app store to sync downlaoded app to my note 2

This is normal. AT&T just pushed an OTA and Kies has yet to update with the new firmware version. I think it will get updated soon as UCAMA4 has just appeared on the SamMobile website.

Edit: As of 4/6/13, Kies now reflects UCAMA4 as the latest firmware.
Dear devs..
I tried all sorts to get this working but after returning to stock after unrooting and repairing the N7100 via kies back to stock 4.1.2 india rom..
Now it does not check for update as it says the above msg mentioned in the subject. I cannot check for update OTA. It just goes on and on.. no result..
Dr. Ketan mentioned the reason behind it but still no solution. He is definitely working on it but still no results.
I can connect to kies and sync or backup but cannot update firmware.
Does anyone has the same problem and have found any solution for the same.

your status is modified so you can not update with kies or OTA..do your research first mate..read this thread,you will find the solution.
i have note 2 4.2.1 and i tried to update to 4.3 and the phone said connecting to the server and disappear.
and when tried to do it from kies it says unknown error
there is solution ?

Wait or download from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ and flash with Odin. You will loose all your settings, apps and appdata if you do it this way.

dont flash the official or will get stuck with knox and can never use custom rom until you ready to loose warranty

Ok guys something users of the note 2 can use. SAMSUNG HAS RELEASED Jellybean 4.3 for the note 2. After finding out sprint will not push update to 4.3 till mid January, I did some research. Android 4.1.2 has a wifi bug so its useless.
After talking to Samsung, I was told to find out if the lcal Best Buy has a Samsung Experience booth. IF SO THEY CAN UPDATE TO 4.3 JELLYBEAN WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT...

My kies wont update and resset my note 8 (N5110) so I need emergency update code! Does anyone know one or link where i can find one? Ive been searchin WWW with 0 results...
If i try to reset and update my note 8 kies tells me that "This devices version cannot be updated." HELP!?
