Hello everyone and sorry if i created a topic that already exists ive been searching this forum for hours and i could not find a solution to my problem.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 purchased in Slovenia at the provider Mobitel.
I've tried to update my phone to a newer version of the firmware trough Kies but i get the following error.
OK as im new it doesnt let me insert links :/ so my firmware version is the following:
PDA:JS2 / PHONE:JPY / CSC:JS1 (MOT)
i know the update to 2.3 is availible in Slovenia but i think i am missing some update inbetween or something, as you can see my Kies says its not an official version on my phone but it is, my phone is the same as i bought it ive never updated yet nor i installed any custom stuff on it.
Hope someone can help me i've been trying to update for about 2 weeks now :/ thanks!
I have the same problem with my sons. I cant go no further as the notice i see is in chinese ????
Seems like the key (kie ) is to try it on different PC's. the usb driver that comes with kies is terrible and doesn't work on a lot of computers

Following on from the fix I mentioned for the MTP error, using the KiesFileSearcher utility, I have now FINALLY upgraded by Orange branded phone to Froyo 2.2!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!
Once I had managed to connect to Kies, I could get the latest Eclair 2.1 update. Then I couldn't get any further. After a fair bit of researching, I found on the XDA site a fix for Kies, called the Kies Registry Patcher - version 7 - you need the latest one to work with the latest version of Kies.
It is a very simple piece of software which can fool Kies into thinking you have an unbranded phone. As soon as I ran it (takes about 20 seconds to do and I chose the XEU version to fool Kies with) I connected to Kies and it offered me the latest Froyo firmware.
Have now updated my phone (which I must also add I have unlocked to a different network) and all has gone well.
Just want to mention this alongside my other posts for all of you out there still struggling with the horrid problem of updating firmware on Orange SGS phones.
Thanks to the wonderful XDAers who manage to produce these magic fixes!!!!!
If you have any specific questions - just email.
Good luck people!
Will try this at home.....hope its work...
Hi,
i bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 about two months ago, i'm from Spain so i'm not sure it is a T-Mobile device. I think the device came with 4.0.1 update of ICS and some weeks agot the device i got 4.0.4 update and then using CF-Root 6.4 and Odin 1.85 managed to get root access so i was able to install busybox and UMS application from xda forums. So everything was working fine. About 3 days ago i got an update notification which showed me a message which said "Updates will be provided in the request order preference" or something like this, i repeated the operation some times in order to gt the update but had no luck so i thought i had to wait for 4.1 update to get published.
The curious thing is today, when i woke up i noticed a firmware update was ready to be installed so went through it but the strange thing was when i went to settings to check the version and i saw it was still/again 4.0.4 version of ICS. Also noticed Google Play Books and Google Play Movies got installed so on one hand it seemed everything went fine cause new apps were there but on the other hand 4.0.4 versions was still there. After that, i went to check if i still had root access but i hadn't. Then tried to grant root access again using CF-Root and Odin 1.85 but had no luck, so now it's not possible for me get root access again and i'm also still wondering how is it possible that today's update left the phone with the same Android version as before the update. Does any one has a clue about it all? The only explanation i can find is the phoen came with 4.0 version, first update got me to 4.0.1 and today's update guided me to the 4.0.4 but i'm still wondering why root access is not working as it should.
Hope someone can help. Thanks in advanced!

Hi everyone
I'm new here and english is not my first language so please be patient.
I have a Note 8 running stock 4.1.2 ... The first time I turn it on it asked me to create a samsung account and then started to download and install updates, since then, the firmware still the same and I read here that a lot of people has been rocking 4.2.2 for a while now, but when I hit "check for updates" it says that I have the latest updates installed, now I'm wondering if when samsung launches 4.4.2 would I get the update? in case I don't get the update, is there any way to get it or install it manually without voiding my warranty?
I'd really apreciate if somebody explains this to me and share with me the links to the tutorials to do this if it is posibble.
BTW... I'm from México if this helps to know whats happening
Thanks in advance.
Ok, is your 5110 a carrier based tablet or retail.
Mine came factory with 4.2.2 late 2013.
So I could not verify why the update you tried is not working.
It is possible Samsung servers have not registered your device and may take a few days to push an update.
Make sure your Samsung Account has the device registered, if so, you can try to push an update through Kies. Once your have your tablet setup in the program.

Well, mine came with 4.1.2 and I also bought it late 2013, I bought the tablet in a mall and doesn't appear to be linked to any carrier. I made the registration process but I don't know anything else, How do I check if my device has been registrered properly? the Note updated a lot of samsung apps and I have acces to samsung app store, so I though everything about registration was right, and yes, I tryed to update via Kies but is the same history, maybe is something about me geografic location.
Is there another way to get the updates or download the firmwares and install them?
Thanks for answer.
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with my brother's Tab. He had one of his friends root it and they installed a custom ROM. Then it stopped working and they asked me to fix it. I managed to reinstall the stock ROM and recovery, the only problem is the baseband. None of the firmwares I found on the internet come from an Italian device, so everytime he tries to make a call it says "Out of service area". The carrier is WIND.
So, how can I fix that? Should I go on an italian forum and ask someone to upload his baseband so I can flash it with ODIN or there's something else? 'cause I also thought about using Kies, but since it has 4.2.2 on it, it won't let me update it, since it's already at the last release available.
Thanks for your help, and please tell me if you need more informations.
I haven't use this site in many years so I apologize if this isn't the correct spot. I tried searching all over for an answer..
I got a brand new S7 off of eBay. The firmware that came on it was somehow messed up, even though it was in a factory sealed box. There were many odd things missing, including the option to OTA. I contacted Samsung and they remotely accessed the phone and confirmed that my software was jacked. Since the phone was new but old, it was out of warranty. Oddly, enough the guy suggested I flash new firmware myself, but would not provide a link. AT&T then told me that they can't flash software and don't even have it... it can only be done by FOTA, lol.
Google led me to a factory firmware. I flashed it via Odin and all was good. I then did the numerous OTA updates until I have the newest 8.0 and security patch.
Now my stupidity comes in... My Bluetooth and Wifi did not work well. My Wifi range sucked and my Bluetooth wouldn't see certain devices. Like an idiot, I figured a CP flash would help it. I flashed an older CP and bricked the phone. I scoured the internet and could not find the newest firmware.
I haven't flashed firmware in years and I should have read up more before doing so. My phone currently works but I hate the version I have as it's oddly different than the 8.0 firmware I got via FOTA. It was the only one I could find online that had the same baseband version that I currently had (G891AUCU4CRH1).
From my understanding, this newest firmware can't be downgraded so I'm stuck trying to find the actual AT&T FOTA update. Is this correct?
If anyone can let me know where to find it, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Sam
Edit.. dumb me just needed to flash the CSC as well.
Found my own answer. Please delete this thread.
I'll upload the CRH1 files and post a link for you guys. I just flashed and can confirm it works for me.
Hi , can you post link for the update please.
