Hello, can someone please tell me how to remove google now option from home button. It get's annoying when I accidentaly open it, I don't need it's functions, so maybe I can disable it, not just turn off?
Thanks.

I would like to know that as well!
Not sure what you mean. You mean long pressing the home button and getting the Google "circle"? If so, not sure why that is an issue for you. I didn't even know about it until I read the post as I never long press the home button.
I found it:
Settings > Interface > Navigation bar > Navigation bar ring targets.
Here you can set how many apps you want on the ring and also which app. (could no way to disable the rings completely, but for me it becomes useful now, that I can set some apps myself.

That's... a custom ROM feature.
I'm so sorry, totally forgot that you could be on stock Rom. Nevermind then...
CM10 is Ur best option for getting this done. Either that or use Holo Locker.
I'm gonna get u the APK of an older version Cuz the current one has Google now.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
I'm using MIUI.us, so I don't have that disable option. This funxtion get's me annoyd specially when I play FruitNinja. Just can't play for 5 minutes without opening google now.

Hit the thanks button. This version has no Google Now Option at the lock screen.
Just Camera and unlock.
This app will disable security and allow u to use volume rocker to wake.
Also u need lock screen in settings.
I think this is Ur only option to disable now with a good locker ( best one IMO)

Nothing changed, just my lockscreen is now custom and I don't have PIN security. Still holding Home button Google now option pop's up.
Which Roms allow to disable GoogleNow? Only CM10 nightlies?

But if you only disable the search app, it will disappear only. but still you can not use the space at desktop, as it will be used for hidden app.I would suggest to use non stock launchers(nova/apex), where all apps could be easily removed etc.

I know I should be doing more research on my own.
but I've search on google and also XDA. most of them "enabling all apps for shortcut (multi-view)" i have to flash my note 2. Does anyone know if there is a way to add additional APPS without flashing?
Based on my search, I am sure the answer is pretty much a No.

Apologies if this has already been posted but trying to search on the Tapatalk app is next to useless!
Is there a way to get the double press of the home button to launch Google Now rather than S Voice?
I'm rooted and on Android Revolution 4.
Thanks.

You can change a number of behaviors with Apex launcher to launch Google Now-home key action, pinch in, swipe up, swipe down, and desktop double tap. Other launchers allow you to make similar changes. I would think with all those options you could find a more convenient behavior for launching Google Now. You can also have the Google Now search bar on all the screens all the time or on any screen all the time with almost all launchers. Remapping the home button to open Google Now with a double press instead of S Voice shouldn't be too difficult of a mod since you can turn off the action in S Voice settings. With all the other options I would think you could find a solution without a mod. You can also have the Google Now cards show up in notifications.

I previously had a GNEX. Loved the swipe up from home shortcut for Google Now. On my Note 2 the only way I see to launch Google Now is by holding the menu button. This is ok, but it brings up the keyboard and recent search entries causing clutter (and yiu have to press the back button to make the keyboard go away). And the prior search results stay on the screen.
Is there a faster/better way to quickly access Google Now?

Use Swipepad: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1vYmkuY29uZHVjdGlvbi5zd2lwZXBhZC5hbmRyb2lkIl0.
(which is a must have app for any android device)
Then put google now in one of the slots. All you have to do then is swipe up from your chosen hotspot to it and you're set. :good:
You can do it by a long press on the menu touch button, or dragging the google shortcut from the lockscreen.

In my OP, I mention the menu way. It's annoying because it brings up the keyboard and recent searches. You have to hit back to get rid of the KB and the recent searches stay there. It's not ideal.
I downloaded swypepad, but in order to use more zones, you have to pay. Lame.
Oh well.

If you use Nova, you can bind Search Text to "long press menu". That brings me the Google+ screen...

Same here. Stock Unrooted after 4.1.2 OTA. No access to Google Now Menu. Flashes briefly then disappears. Tried to clear cache but won't clear. Tried to uninstall updates in application manger but hangs on uninstalling screen.

Menu won't stay open whether keyboard present or not. Using Swiftkey.
Finally got the Google Search update to uninstall and the menu opens normally when not updated. Hmmm.

I have the same issue. Re-updated and menu flashes and disappears.
Add me to this list also. It's a bug in the new search update. It really sucks. Thankfully I don't need to use the menu/setting that much.
If I do I can get into it via settings.

Quick update. Still happening.
Workaround (based on previous posts and trials)
Open Google Now.
Type a space (or any placeholder text in the search bar.
Close the keyboard and retry the menu key. The menu should now pop up and float there.
The search bar seems to have to have something in it for menu to not instantly close again. I've put as little as just that space and it works.
Wonder how Google missed that?

I would hypothesize that this is a Samsung Twiz ROM issue, rather than a Google oops...Trying it on my PACMan 20.1 install I fail to get the bug.
Anyone in this thread so far not using a Sammy TWiz ROM?
Uninstall and re-install Google Search. Clear Google Talk data in App management. Reboot.
It'll work after that.
First off, I am using the "nusense six" Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693502) and have the HTC one m7.
I have never used the stock sense six firmware but I have noticed that on this Rom, if you tap on the screen just above the HTC logo, it acts as if you pressed a hardware menu button (the menu for the app you are on pops up).
This feature is interesting, but the problem is that when I type and push the spacebar ever so slightly too low on the screen, the keyboard closes and the menu pops up. This has finally become annoying enough for me to make this post and I hope someone can help me disable this feature. Thanks!
Also if anyone knows of a relitively stock sense six Rom without this thing, please let me know.

I have browsed Trickster and can find no way to change this button layout. When I installed NuSense, I chose the option for logo button to be "home" plus "recent apps" out of curiosity. Now I want it back to stock. Where in Trickster mod can one change this?
