I'm currently using a custom rom of football, HTC One maXimus V3.2. Which come with sense.
When the official update come later this month, will I be able to update it directly through software update (there is) or I need to reinstall the stock rom.
Thanks in advance.

If you want the ota official update, you have to get the stock rom AND recovery back. You don't have to relock the bootloader though. But do this only when the update for your region is available.
Also do some search in the forums please.

So it's possible to install custom jelly bean without update hboot or similar?

No its not. You need the latest firmware to run jelly bean with Sense.

yes i think its possible to update to JB but without sense
But is it possible to put the new hboot in ardh9.7
With the new hboot (which only works for users that have the right CID) you can run the Sense jelly bean leak but not older versions based on Android 4.0.4. Not even CM10 since it is made for the older 2.17 base.

Damn, i'm gonna wait, i have no choice lol
Currently, hboot 1.23 is required and only run on the Sense JB;
hboot 1.23 refuse to boot on others ROM.
If you go with Sense JB leaked now, you also unable to flash 2.17 RUU back to persue official OTA later since hboot 1.23 is newer hboot 1.12 included in 2.17 RUU.

You can install a JB AOSP or AOKP ROM without upgrading your HBOOT. All you need to do is unlock your bootloader, install a CWM recovery, install boot.img via fastboot and flash the ROM zip
My CID is HTC_044

its true that JB release depends on your CID but how can anyone know exact date. If your droid is modified by operator count with delay. Official announcement was for oct 2012, that means we will get it for christmas
How did this get moved to the onexl forum? lol
Threads get moved, not closed and moved, lol. Moving to the correct forum.

As title states, now official JB is rolling out am I right in thinking it will be easier to update to newer custom JB Roms from another custom?
Or will I have to go stock to update HBOOT??
Forgive my nooby state, I have just sold my IPhone

When updates come out more CIDs will be available. You can check your CID with CID getter. You may as well stay stock for now if you are new and do a bit of reading

also you can flash any sense based JB roms.
I'v been using Android Revolution HD ROM JB. Therefore I have upgrade the hboot before.
Recently My one x have several problem that I need to send it back to htc for recovering.
I eventually awared the Seriousness of upgrading hboot.
I've check the offical thread of Android Revolution HD , and the instruction do mention user have to upgrade hboot before flashing.
I would like to ask if there is any chance I do not need to upgrade hboot to flash Revolution HD JB.

Yes... Just make sure you have the correct Hboot!
Device HTC One x
Currently running cyanogenmod 10.2.1-endeavoru
HBOOT 1.72.0000
CID VODAP001
Baseband 5.1204.164D3.31
Was trying to downgrade the OS from sense 5 to sense 4+, in fact literally failed.
Now running with a cyanogenmod 10.2.1-endeavoru (Stable) Android 4.3.1
Again tried with some sense based roms (Revolution, Viper, Venom, etc) nothing works.
Now i really need my stock rom back. Can anyone help me with this?
can you tell what the exact error was? Did it fail while installing from recovery? Or it failed to boot?
Sent from my HTC One X
First of all i didnt took a back of my stock while trying to downgrade..
N after done my touch was not working. Then i again tried with some other roms as mentioned. But every rom was having an error. Sometimes touch not working. Sometimes get struck in boot screen itself.
Finally now working on cyanogenmod.

I think you can't downgrade to 4+ as touch driver is updated in hboot 1.7x.
So if you want to go back to stock, download a backup from the nandroid backup thread in general section.
Here, found one matching your cid - https://www.dropbox.com/s/5qsiqpjdj8azy9l/2013-09-21.10.33.36.zip

Tried with some custom roms, (Viper, Venom) but doesn't worked. sometimes got struck.. and sometimes display wont work.
Could u pls suggest some sense 4+ based roms?
Look in the android dev section for sense 4 roms that are based on 3.18 or higher (3.20 for instance) those work. If they don't work you didn't install them properly
